    If i'm not mistaken, there were no coconut trees there before the colonists brought them for the plantations.

    Years ago, investigators said they found the bones of a newborn baby buried near a tree. Being stranded there a long time could Noonan and Amelia have had a child that died. They should try to find those bones and try to test any DNA against any living relatives. They also found a makeshift attempt to distill water. I am in my 80's and remember reading about these things as I have always followed any info about Earhart.

      If he was injured i dont think they wher in a mood makeing a baby on a island wher no water no food and only troubble is around them only if she was pregnant before but i dont think she would make such a long flight with a baby inside thats another thing to make it only a bigger mysery i think i guess the closest thing is they crashed and starved and no food if noolan was really injured how big was his chance to survive more tjan one or two days she maybe survived a little longer but people love survival and romantic or adventure stories solving this thing really seems hopless

    Well, if indeed they have found Amelia's Electra, it will put to rest Gardiner Island and the idea that they landed there and lived for sometime even being captured by the Japanese. Kind of like Occam's razor, the simplest explanation is the truth. They crashed at sea and sank.

    they're digging on the island looking for a grave, one body was found in 1940, if they were there, it seems logical to assume the survivor buried the other one since the second body was never found. either that or the crabs got to them like so many of the other bones of the skeleton found

    She and her navigator were moved by soldiers to Jaluit Atoll for questioning by the japaness high command. Natives noticed that the man was hurt very bad. After 4 days on the island.........the woman was flown to other military base. Her plane was dumped somewhere in the Marshall islands. The man was moved from the islands two days later. Destination unknown.......and that a fact folks.

And what about those soldiers who years later confessed to setting it on fire as ordered? And what about those soldiers who then bulldozed it into a large hole underneath what is now Saipan International Airport? ALL of those soldiers made that up, huh?

    I would take this with a grain of salt. Earhart purchased her Lockheed 10-E Electra in 1936. Otto Rohm and Otto Haas patented plexiglass in 1933 but it was not widely used for aircraft windows until World War II. I would be surprised if a vintage 1936 Lockheed Electra even had plexiglass windows. There is a 1936 model 12-E Electra at the Spirit of Flight Museum in Erie. I wonder if it has plexiglass windows. If not, the plexiglass is probably a false lead. The aluminum scraps could have come from anyplace. Once again, it might be interesting to run a metallurgical report on that Model 12-E in Erie and the aluminum scraps they found on the island to see if there's a match.

    • @raoulcruz4404
      @raoulcruz4404 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The metal does have a metallurgical match. 24S alloy. .032” thick. It’s also a match for thousands of other aircraft. During WWII, Gardner was a LORAN station base. Who knows how many aircraft visited the island. Only takes one to be damaged and left pieces behind. A B-24 crashed on nearby Canton island. The natives quite often scavenged wrecks to make tools. The piece of metal is inconclusive.

      @@stewartkee6115 Stewart what Valentia said is the exact story that many GI's had heard when they took the Islands back, although I find it hard to believe, there was a old Lady who took food to the Prisoners, and she described a White woman who had clothing that matched Amelias the picture of her and Noonan on the edge of the dock?
      One important thing, the photo of the plane on the barge could not have been Amelias as hers had distinct alterations to fit the extra fuel tanks and for the special Cameras that were allegedly fitted to the underbelly of her plane. I think Valentia believes the stories that have been passed around since her disappearance, there is no need for anyone who disagrees with her to be rude or offensive, as everyone is entitled to their beliefs no matter how right or wrong they may be.

    Henry Maude was on that island 3 months after she went missing and found no evidence of her or the aircraft. Fred Goerner interviewed witnesses on Saipan that indicate she was taken there as a prisoner. Logical considering it was restricted airspace and if she landed at the mili atoll the Japanese would seek them out for questioning. Fred's 1966 book is a must read and his conclusion is the most logical. Freckle creme jar and whatever else was found on this island just doesnt cut it.

    • @ZoeTheCat
      @ZoeTheCat 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      gess ges Very probably in 1800 feet of water near the Norwich City (NC) wreck. They landed on the coral atoll about 200 yards North of NC at low tide. Over the course of 4 or 5 days, they made daily distress calls (Documented by dozens of amateur shortwave enthusiasts - search Betty Klenck & Dana Randolph). Eventually the plane started to take on more and more water and got pulled further toward the edge of the atoll. Eventually it dropped into the abyss and is probably still there today. TIGHAR will actively explore these depths THIS MONTH (6/2015). Keep an eye out.

    • @ZoeTheCat
      @ZoeTheCat 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ***** Have you seen the edge of the reef? It drops off VERY sharply into the abyss. High tide is all it takes

    now wait if she landing even if the plane was a little bit under water when they were flying over looking for her they would have seen that plane.this makes no sense.well known they used planes to look for her.

    • @jaywinters2483
      @jaywinters2483 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      shane hester If the plane was partially in the water & it’s radio being operated only at low tide, which sundry radio transmissions records show it was, then the plane was in the reef. Last transmission was 7 days before Navy search plane arrived. Plenty of time for surf activity to take plane over the drop off on the reef. It’s almost a straight drop down. The plane was swept down the cliff & AE was too weak by then to get up and run out on beach where she could be seen. Airplane only looked for 19 minutes at a height of 400’. If she is laying down under buka trees weak and sick by then, it’s obvious the pilot would t see her.

    I hate to break this news to you all but her airplane hit the water 90 years ago. It is gone, it disintegrated years and years ago. Anyone that thinks it’s still there is really reaching. The titanic is about 30,000X the size of her plane and it is just about gone. You think that little tiny plane outlasted the Titanic? Even if she ditched and she made it to an island and lived out her years (hopefully) the airplane is gone. 100% of it is gone. You will never find a screw, bolt or washer belonging to her Electra. There are millions of airplanes that went down from wars, travel, drug smuggling, shipping planes in the water. It is literally like finding a needle in a haystack, but the haystack is the size of Texas and that would’ve been 90 years ago when the plane hadn’t disintegrated yet. It is literally impossible to find anything right now belonging to Amelia Earhart in 2024.
