Mohammad Haidar Khan Khumar Barabankvi (1919 - 1999) was a celebrated master of Urdu ghazal, beloved for his expressive style and 'tarannum'.
This recording is from a mushaira broadcast on Akashwani Allahabad around 1961, with Nawab Jafar Ali Khan Asar presiding. His voice praising some verses can occasionally be heard in the background.
