    I love the accent. Makes the video so much better. Anyhow.i have the same issue. Keeps getting triggered. Is it just a bad switch or should i investigate further

      Yes, replace the switch if you keep having to reset it after normal driving. Sounds like the little contacts inside the inertia switch aren't keeping the little ball inside of the cage like it's supposed to. Just make sure the switch is in the same position it was in when the vehicle was first built, it cannot work correctly if not. Thanks for watching and the nice comment!

    Will the fuel pump still prime with key on engine off if it’s the inertia switch?

    • @singularautomotive3542
      @singularautomotive3542  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, because the inertia switch cuts power to the fuel pump completely until it is manually reset

      @@singularautomotive3542 Thanks to your videos I ruled out the switch by testing it for continuity. Trying to troubleshoot a crank no start after going over a speed bump it just died. I’m thinking it’s the fuel pump.

      It should be in the trunk, on the right side behind the trunk liner(carpet). Now if it's the hatchback style it's still in the trunk, on the right. But it's behind a plastic panel. Sounds like your definitely not getting fuel, make sure the switch is depressed. If it is, I'd still try checking to see if you have 12 volts on one of the wires to ground. If you don't have a voltmeter then you can try to jump the two wires together to see if that helps. Now if you're not getting power to the inertia switch then the fuel pump relay isn't engaging or the fuel pump fuse is blown both are under the hood, the 12 volts flows from the relay, through the fuse, then the inertia switch, and finally the fuel pump module. Make sure the fuse isn't blown and if not then try swapping your air conditioner relay out for the fuel pump relay. Good luck and definitely let me know how it goes. And if you haven't already please like and definitely subscribe to the channel. Thanks !

      If the vehicle will crank and not start I would try to find the inertia switch to see if it is tripped. If the vehicle doesn't crank or do anything then you probably have an electrical problem. And yes your car should have an inertia switch. Either in the trunk or passenger floor board

    What about the 2002 Ford Explorer

    • @singularautomotive3542
      @singularautomotive3542  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's the exact same switch on the Explorer. It should be under the glove compartment, in the right hand corner. If yours has a kick pane you may need to remove it to see it. It is a normally closed switch that opens with a hard vibration. If it's open the red button will be pushed up, press it down until it clicks

      Is the vehicle getting fuel, does it start? When turning the key from Off to Acc do you hear the fuel pump him. And does the fuel hand ever move from Empty?

      His awesome-sounding accent doesn't change the information at all. It's still very helpful and thoughtful information about the Fuel Reset Button.
