Me. I love dark aesthetics but with a romantic touch. One of my favourite quotes: "better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all". I think it fits us well.
@@roisinnigcrainn7722 I think baroque and royal-core are both a really good combination of dark academia and romantic academia! They both have plenty of elegance and yearning, while having beautiful colors and fabrics :D
I understand the idea of this video, believe me, I do, the thing is, drinking coffee is not a personality trait? “incorporating dark academia by drinking coffee in vintage mugs”? Reality is, you shouldn’t be trying to make this your personality, this should just align with your taste. I believe this aesthetic is about educating yourself and having a nice sense of style from other ages, but, again, you shouldn’t, for example, force yourself to like coffee because it goes with the vibe of an aesthetically appealing sense of style. Just my opinion, nice video anyways, I really enjoyed the book recommendations!
Agreed. And for me it also means you really don't have to spend fortune for an original, vintage stuff. I know there are thrift/sh/charity shops, but just because you feel this asethetic, you dont have to making yourself to buy or do (or whatever) anything you weren't feel comfortable about. Just because you don't have money for desk, shirts or typing machine or (like below) don't like or can't drink coffe, it doesn't mean you are not in this aesthetic.
I agree, I definitely think the value in these aesthetics is finding a way to describe yourself (in part) and/or your tastes, as they already are. None of them should be about making yourself the pinnacle of that aesthetic, or trying to fit yourself in a small box. These aesthetics should be (and widely are) simply for enjoyment and finding common ground in hobbies, style, and visual taste, as well as ways to explore those which you may not have been exposed to previously. It's all in fun, and should be remembered as such. As someone who loves escapism, it can be incredibly fun and freeing to dedicate time to letting yourself feel like you're in a _____ academia movie or book. Life is all about play, and that includes finding new ways to pretend. (My initial point got a little muddled, essentially I hope the takeaway from this video and others like it is light-hearted, and not about strictly defining yourself)
Well, I believe that the person who made this video wasn’t trying to force people to drink coffee. My reasoning for this is that the person put at the beginning of the video, that academia is not just about the aesthetics, but about the knowledge, curiosity, and love for the world and improving. Therefore, I think they were just trying to show that drinking coffee is about the *aesthetics, not the way of life, in the academias.* Anyway, this is just my opinion, and it’s only an inference. Have a great rest of your day. Bye Thanks for reading, ~Aaliyah
not at me literally knowing NOTHING about aesthetics. i didn't even know it's a culture. i just like how it looks. i didn't know there are activities tied to it lol
I feel like the activies first then people make the ‘circle’ of what we like to do. I think. Or some people force themselves to be example a Dark Academia because its pleasing to their eyes, then they force themselves to like something related to Dark Academia. Im bad at explaining but thats how i think
academia aesthetic is actually based of loving to learn and to wanting to learn, these are just popular aesthetics but you should personalize it to your style
Yeah you can, the human body and the reactions the go on in the body is beautiful. Almost poetic. The body is at a constant battle.New cells die and born every second, the WBS and the bacteria or virus(sorry arts background). The ability to heal and adapt is like a princess married off to a foreign prince for alliance. A new vaccine is like a new invention, there is a lot of resistance but usually in the end everything is alright. I just couldn't help writing such a long para. Im a hopeless writer. BTW good luck for med school
@@SK-ss6rm idk if that's the same. i mean i could study greek mythology since that's the pantheon i follow, but they probably don't cover much paganism (if any) in theology classes.
I actually don't know what the heck this is but a friend kept pointing out dark academia, we're in like a writing group, and then everytime i look up cottage core I just end up here. Personally, I would love a mix of romantic and dark academia. A black sweater with a pink collar peaking out. I want to get a little more into this since I'm trying to transition from a lifestyle of gaming and laziness to hopefully more productivity and reading.
After chasing for some aesthetics, now I'm just trying to embrace what I originally have. White nail polish on short nails, low buns on wavy hair (cannot emphasize how long I tried to have straight hair rather than my beautiful wavy one), liquid blush all over my cheeks, long skirts and v-neck tops, (woollen sweaters in winter), a pendant always resting on my collarbones, dangly earrings, lipbalms, journals and novels in my tote bag just for moral support, taking care of my beloved plants (Serenity&Joonie) and never forgetting to pet the stray animals at the sidewalks
Im not trying to fit in the trend but.. As a young child i was back then... I see this as art. And i love every details and expression it gives of from this aesthetic. It gives me the world where i could just be simple and calm.. It's mental healing for me.
Yeah I have a big problem cause...I just can’t fit any of these by itself. My heart screams Classic academia, my mind Dark academia and my closet says indie kid so my personality is like a mix of all these.
My music style and colour style leans more towards Dark Academia, my clothing style is just tomboy style and a mix of Dark Academia, my preferred decorating style is Attack On Titan (anime) but my study style is total chaos...
For as long as i can remember i´ve always imagined i lived in a beautiful mansion full of books, dressing like a classy student and being all dramatic about love and death, drinking tea and as i grew up, drinking cofee. It turns out there is a whole ass range of aesthetics and im not even good at dressing like them AND i live in subtropical weather, i love the cold and the rain and the sweaters but i live in a terribly hot place. Life just has other plans for me lmao
I'm definitely classic academia and dark academia, I'm studying literature (poetry inside of it) and wanna study architecture in university, my clothes are like that, I love museums and old architecture (especially gothic architecture) , I write poetry, I write letters and poetry in my typewriter, plus I study French, Japanese and Italian, I have more books than anything, I know chess (started learning it because of "The Queen's gambit") and I can't live without coffee
I couldn’t agree more. I too, think my narrative extends into more classic and dark academia. I love mythology and I aspire to delve into the darker concepts of death in literature, especially in poetry. I recently got a quill pen and I love writing letters with a sinister tone to whomever, even if it’s a figment of my imagination. I’m studying French currently but I would love to also study Russian. I love the gothic elements in architecture and in art overall and I would love to learn how to play chess! Inspired by The Queen’s Gambit obviously.
I feel like I’m a mix of dark and romantic. Like sometimes I want to hide away from the world, wear all black, drink coffee, and do something creative. Other days I want to frolic through a field wearing a flower crown and sundress. There’s no in between. Lol
☺️☺️☺️In the 80’s before the academia labels, all of this was known or manifested in elements of goth, New Romantic, preppy chic, Gunne Sax/Jessica McClintock fashions, and if you get a chance check out old “Victoria” magazines, 80’s Ralph Lauren and J.Peterman Catalogs (they were beautifully illustrated only, no photographs).💖👍
SAME ever since i discovered cottagecore aesthetic i've been somewhat obsessed with all things similar to that, romantic and light academia just feel so right
I think I have more like a classic + dark academia aesthetics. Its not just about the outfits for me however. Sometimes I just feel like an old soul. Like, I wanna escape into a different era. Sip a hot cup of tea, stroll through the mysterious section of an old library, slow dance with a stranger under the stars, scribble down my life story on a weathered journal and keep it hidden for someone else to find it after generations .....and my list goes on...I hope that whoever reading this understands what I'm trying to say. Anyway, thank you for the beautiful video!!!.
this sounds like me!! i disagree that academia is purely aesthetic and superficial, its quite sentimental for me. i also wish i was born in another era (like the 1890s), and honestly it makes me so sad that there arent more people who appreciate the inherent romance of the past. im also an INFP hehe
I have a genuine question, why do people wish they were born in another era? I feel like we have it the best right now? And you can do all these things plus have the comfort of the internet and electricity and less misogyny/sexism/racism
And here I am sitting in a corner filled with wounderful souls who enjoy dressing like this, looking very beautiful in it while I just came here for the music. I dress so randomly. Some days I dress in t-shirt from rock bands, some days in nerd stuff, sometimes even functional, practical(when going on a camping trip), but somehow I always come back to clothes that look more medieval and elvish than modern human clothes...but in the end they need to be comfortable for me to wear them actually. Anyway I still love reading on rainy or sunny day with a cup of coffee or tea. I enjoy the winter when it's cold, but I also like a lovley spring with flowers blooming and a warm, light filled summer, and I absolutely love the colourfull and rainy autumn. There is poetic in all kind of things, no matter how different they seem to be. And the same goes for music: Dark Academia for quiet, melancholy days, light and romantic Academia for dreaming and classic Academia for writing and studying... And then they are other types of music I enjoy as well, so I can't really label them at all. Life seems to be always changing and at the same time not. Somehow it always ends in a never ending circle. Always the same but never quite. It's found in every aspect of every thing in this world. Humans nature, emotions, seasons, years, music, clothing styles, birth/death... It alwys comes back to two things: Up and downs, good and bad, right and wrong, on and off, 0 and 1. And the colourfull rainbow between the two and their mixtures. Its spiralling endlessly like a never ending dance of life...and death. No matter which kind of phase you are in at the moment, enjoy it while it lasts.
Can we just appreciate how much work is put into this video?? Like, they recommend outfits, movies, novels, explained basis of each academia and even mentioned certain hobbies, the presentation was awesome, the music changed to represent each academia, like, wow! That's so cool, thank you so much for your hard work!💕
I've never had a style before. It was always a mix of different things I'd seen on instagram or youtube. I'm an English/creative writing major and I love light and romantic academia. I'm not the biggest reader, I think school has ruined it with boring books and reports but I love writing and being in an academic environment. I recently started trying to dress like this and I've never been happier or felt more comfortable in myself.
Just getting off a long 12 hour shift from my job, sitting on my bed as the sun rises and my feet ache, sometimes I look at life and wonder how many people out there are feeling what I’m feeling, how many people out there go through struggles, how many people out there understand the pain and difficulty of life, it’s depressing yet assuring at the same time. Life can be so hard, so painful, so depressing, but the struggle in life is what makes life so beautiful. Knowing we have endured, endured such a horrible year, so much death, so much agony, yet we made it. To see another year. And whatever this year brings, we can endure then too. I love you guys. Keep your head up and stay strong everyone. God bless. 📖
I believe we are an aesthetic ourselves. Because as time passed and as I started to embrace myself more I realized all these beautiful traits I have that can be categorized in an aesthetic but not particularly in a singular one. So I thought I'll make my own aesthetic and I'll try to live beautifully like that. There's so much more to life and I haven't yet started living but I'm sure I will soon.
I was dark academia my whole life without even knowing Edit: I just finished the video and in the dark academia part I started laughing like wtf this fits me so perfectly and I just thought I was a melancholic nerd in love with books for my entire life. Btw, I only feel soo comfortable wearing black, anyone here relating to this?
are we the same person??? except im not allowed to wear much black cuz strict parents (especially my mom) also I'm a tomboy as well so they find this aesthetics clothing "masculine" which they don't like T_T
hi guys! i just wanted to come on here and say that this video is just for fun and not to be taken too seriously. every now and then i see a comment on how this video seems like it's forcing people to take on certain activities or dress a certain way for the sake of "fitting in" to an aesthetic. i promise you, that was not my intention and i'm really sorry if it came out that way. i honestly just wanted to make a video that was similar to my pinterest boards at the time and decided to add a bit on what the aesthetic actually is as supplemental info. in other words, i made this vid simply for good fun and to inspire others. again, pls don't take the info in this video too seriously or as actual facts. i really do enjoy reading your comments tho, so keep on leaving ur thoughts down below. anyways, that's enough ranting. if u liked this video, check out the other two vids in this series. if not, it's okay, have a wonderful day regardless. ily all
Okay I’m going to go over all the ones and how I feel I relate Classical: I read so much and love books (new or old) it sounds pretty relaxing and reminds me of a English teacher, and the fashion is lowkey ok. It seems like stuff I would wear. Coffee is bloody amazing so I feel I relate. And the sobbing in bed. But I don’t think it’s my one. Dark: now the Greek architecture and myth are something I deeply love. The death concept...I’m suicidal and would like to think myself at peace with death. Candle lit rooms reading and the rain. I find it peaceful. I have a big thing for classical music. The fashion is very much me. Turtle necks, dark colours. The style is very me. I much prefer hand written letters etc and the vibe from dark academia os very me. I think this is very much my aesthetic Romance: I am not a bright colourful person nor a light person. But the idea of romance and the love I enjoy. But I would not want to look at it as flowers and perfect romance. The idea of hopefulness I like but I know hope doesn’t win in love. Poetry about love stories with the amazing prince is not for me. I enjoy the reading, love letters, pleated skirts (to a degree) and def the cozy jumpers. The fashion is nice but it’s to pure and beautiful. It would not suit me. The long white flowing dresses or cute looks. Definitely not for me Light: the colours have already put me off. I don’t like the cool light tones. They don’t compliment me at all. The outfits though. The knitted jumpers and thin wired glasses. The aesthetic of the architecture as-well. The outdoors too. But I think it means of a bright summer day. I prefer a dark rainy night in a forest. Once again, the hope is not for me. I prefer the brooding Novels and films: the films are all great. I feel they scream light academia or classic. These wouldn’t be for me as such. They don’t have the feel I look for. The novels interest me though as they sound thrilling and exciting. I could read and I wouldn’t stop Overall I think dark academia with a dash of classic is me. This is what I feel most for me overall. The brooding and hopelessness. The dark feel and thrill. The misery, rain, dark sky. But the reading and thrifted stuff. The darker dull colours. If you read till the end...why would you it’s just me rambling but thanks
I’m tied between romantic academia and dark academia. I was already into dark academia but I love the ethereal and soft aesthetic with its hopeless romantic atmosphere, so I guess that’s why. But you can never have too many aesthetes ♡︎
My style has been dark academia before I knew about those aesthetics, and I love gothic architecture and everything else that is dark academia, but my mindset is light academia so I can't really choose. I didn't know romantic one is on its own, I thought that's all light academia! Thanks for the inspiration. ♡ I just followed you on pinterest, I love your boards.
I am defiantly romantic and light academia. i adore fantasizing over love, warm cups of tea, and I love the earthy toned color pallets as well as lighter shades ( including pink hehe )' *
In terms of the aesthetics, I don’t really identify with DA but on a personal level i resonate with the academic/passion for learning hugely and its helped me get through school and delve into my hobbies. i love dressing colorfully, and giving myself the room to change looks at any given time. So, I call myself a eccentric academic lol
People is always going to judge. Better for you if you just decided to live with that and inspire the rest of the population to try something new instead.
Poet and romantic are mostly me just because of how much I’m into literature and not as much into the plots or the fantasies just the beauty of the writing and reading iy
From a young age my dad has taken me to libraries and I have indeed loved books, but after getting a phone I left books and most of my extra learning apart from being in school to spending time on my phone or doing other things. Last year I was “too young” to be getting involved in academia and aesthetics and all that jazz (I also just wasn’t interested). This year I was given more shuffle space to find an aesthetic. Over lockdown I started reading more and fell back in love with learning as I had done when I was younger. When I went back to school in September I had found academia as an aesthetic and I really love the whole idea of learning and expanding your mind. After talking about it for a while in various circumstances I became aware that people thought I only enjoyed it for the clothes and not the learning, which is completely wrong. I am just annoyed that people assume you only like an aesthetic because it is “trendy” and not because you have just found it now but it has collided with the big boom of interest in the aesthetic. I want to continue with academia but I fear I will be called old and that I’m “sticking with old trends” when the real reason is that I just love the aesthetic soo much. Thank you for coming to my ted talk. Disclaimer: I understand that I am privileged and I get to live in a country that sort of supports this aesthetic. I understand that the origins are elitist but I want to change that for the better and make it more inclusive to everyone.
Your TED Talk was fun, Sophia. Don't worry about people underestimating your intellectual interests, I live with it all the time even without dressing the part... People project, and get threatened easily (big egos). PS: the phone > books is a tragic byproduct of our age, it's a global disaster.
i write poetry, read all the time, drink three cups of hot herbal tea a day, wear bows in my hair every other day and have iron anemia so i’m always cold and in a cardigan or sweater.... hopeless romantic academia💗
most of my life revolves around dark academia, on the contrary, i am also greatly influenced by romantic academia. i’m on a scale between them, but at the end of the day, my heart, brain, and soul belongs to dark academia.
You might like the baroque and royal-core aesthetics!! For me, I’m also a combination of dark and romantic academia, and I love the poetic yearning and beautiful colors and fabrics of those aesthetics. There’s a time for understated elegance, but in my heart I like dressing like a combination of a lesbian librarian (I got the first part down haha), a Renaissance prince, and the male love interest of a 19th century English novel. So those really work lmao.
Classic Academia fits so well with my style. I do every activity that was mentioned and liked every single outfit as well. I also found Light Academia rlly interesting. These two are my favs especially Classic Academia
I’ve been doing academia aesthetic when I was in highschool and I would be made fun of just because it wasn’t a thing back then. Now, I’m so happy because it’s finally recognized or more well-known now as an aesthetic, including the music, fashion, interior and all that.

I’ve been craving writing in an unlined parchment leather journal lately and the fashion sense is right up my alley. If not for a limited budget and overly efficient practicality (stemming from hopeless insecurity) I’d be a dark academic in winter and light bordering on romantic academic in the summer.
I’m a weird mix of all and I like it. These aesthetics are maybe problematic but somehow still beautiful. It really helped me. If I don’t romanticize studying, I can’t study lol
uh- I need help 1)i write poems but most of them are sad 2)im a hopeless romantic 3)I love reading, fantasy is my favourite genre and I'd preferably always pick up books with at least a little romance 4)fashion wise, i don't like to cover myself up, I like to show the right amount of skin, like wearing skirts a little over my mid thigh, sleeveless tops, off shoulder tops, crop tops, etc. 5) I learn and study classical music and aspire to be a singer so am I romantic academia?? im so confused-
I’m a classical musician… I’ve always felt out of place: unmeasurable love for classical music, for classical literature… I’ve studied Latin and Ancient Greek at school and I’ve always looked at Beethoven as my guiding spirit. I’ve always understood Schubert’s passion for the mystery of life, the sense of death… Wuthering Heights is my favourite book. Me wearing skirts and dark colours made my old-minded school curious and still today I don’t understand the reason. It was amazing to find out that I’m not alone, that there are several people out of there sharing my own passions. To me dark academia is not only aesthetic, it’s my way of living life, kinda it’s adjective. We are a family 🤎
For me I feel like in every academia there is something that makes it special so I might not take one only as my theme, for example I love vintage stuff from the dark academia I love the fashion in all of them except for the romantic, I like the classical academia for like piantinv and stuff
Yeah, light academia and dark academia are my thing for sure. Dark academia for when I’m deep into my writing, brainstorming ideas, feeling moody or reading something dramatic, light academia for when I’m reading something sweet and romantic or emotional, or spending time with friends, maybe staying inside while i watch my friends and/or family play outside-for when I’m feeling more upbeat and hopeful. I think i prefer certain academia’s when I’m in a certain mood.
This is a very nice video. I loved the typewriter effect for transition, and the colors u picked for the background are soothing. I appreciate an aesthetic video that isn't just a tiktok compilation. Keep up the good work

Dark Academia really speaks to my soul. I really do like light Academia as a subject to admire, like a painting in a museum, but when it comes to my life, I am dark Academia trough and through
this was really cool and i liked it and the info it gave but also could you include more male fashion plz? i promise it's not just women or people who like feminine fashion who like academia. no hate, just a lil request. loved it!
I'm in the same situation because i'm non binary, and my gender expression is masculine, so i don't really like wearing skirts and a dress (eventhough clothes have no gender)
The Secret History by Donna Tartt is also amazing and I'd recommend it to anyone interested in academia in general, it's one of my favourite books and I could barely put it down once I started it
Ever since i found out about the academia aesthetics i got so excited. The lifestyle, fashion and aesthetic that ive loved since i was a child have a name!!!! And other people who feel the same way as me exist!!!!! And while i fit into only or two of these types, i absolutely adore every single one of them

I think some universities offer a parapsychology course?
@@SK-ss6rm idk if that's the same. i mean i could study greek mythology since that's the pantheon i follow, but they probably don't cover much paganism (if any) in theology classes.
@@hades_head_empty Yeah, parapsychology is more to do with the validity of claims of supernatural activity and stuff
@@SK-ss6rm yeah, so it wouldn't be the right subject to cover the practice of witchcraft.
Aw I love that, I'm trying to do something similar
Same I've gotten back into reading again after years of being lost
Same, I'm trying to make sure being lazy doesn't take control over my whole life. Its hard but from what I've seen, looks worth it.

I am all the aesthetics in the video and yours.

This is because you are yourself and not a „type“ or „aestehtic“ someone set
then mix all tougher ade be yourself. and about your clothes, you can’t change your entire closet over night, be patiently ;)

I'm definitely classic academia and dark academia, I'm studying literature (poetry inside of it) and wanna study architecture in university, my clothes are like that, I love museums and old architecture (especially gothic architecture) , I write poetry, I write letters and poetry in my typewriter, plus I study French, Japanese and Italian, I have more books than anything, I know chess (started learning it because of "The Queen's gambit") and I can't live without coffee
thanks for sharing!! ur who i aspire to be lol
Me too!
@@academiaesthetic oh my god, you're making me blush 🥺
I'm starting to learn chess because of 'The Queen's Gambit' too :O
As a Greek, philosophy major at college, definitely a dark academia type of person🗝️
Romantic and Light Academia i just feel...attracted to these academia
Same omg
Philo Vinoy I totally understand you 😊
Totally relate, and maybe you’re an INFJ like me hehe (check out 16 personalities)
this sounds like me!! i disagree that academia is purely aesthetic and superficial, its quite sentimental for me. i also wish i was born in another era (like the 1890s), and honestly it makes me so sad that there arent more people who appreciate the inherent romance of the past. im also an INFP hehe
I have a genuine question, why do people wish they were born in another era? I feel like we have it the best right now? And you can do all these things plus have the comfort of the internet and electricity and less misogyny/sexism/racism
We are the same
And here I am sitting in a corner filled with wounderful souls who enjoy dressing like this, looking very beautiful in it while I just came here for the music.
It alwys comes back to two things:
Up and downs, good and bad, right and wrong, on and off, 0 and 1.
That's so cool, thank you so much for your hard work!💕
My personality is romantic academia, but my closet is dark/classic 😂✨
You might like the baroque and royal-core core aesthetics, they combine romantic and dark academia really well.

I agree. You don't have to fit in one aesthetic if you don't want to. You can create your own original one that you feel comfortable with.🤍
Sorry but what does that have to do with this videos and if that's the case why did u click on it
Before dark academia was trending I always liked that aesthetic and style like I love reading, love Harry Potter, loved plaid skirts
I’m definitely a mix of classic and dark with a sprinkle of romantic once and awhile
I was dark academia my whole life without even knowing
Edit: I just finished the video and in the dark academia part I started laughing like wtf this fits me so perfectly and I just thought I was a melancholic nerd in love with books for my entire life. Btw, I only feel soo comfortable wearing black, anyone here relating to this?

hi guys! i just wanted to come on here and say that this video is just for fun and not to be taken too seriously. every now and then i see a comment on how this video seems like it's forcing people to take on certain activities or dress a certain way for the sake of "fitting in" to an aesthetic. i promise you, that was not my intention and i'm really sorry if it came out that way. i honestly just wanted to make a video that was similar to my pinterest boards at the time and decided to add a bit on what the aesthetic actually is as supplemental info. in other words, i made this vid simply for good fun and to inspire others. again, pls don't take the info in this video too seriously or as actual facts.
i really do enjoy reading your comments tho, so keep on leaving ur thoughts down below. anyways, that's enough ranting. if u liked this video, check out the other two vids in this series. if not, it's okay, have a wonderful day regardless. ily all
Adding to the booklist, if you love Goldfinch, The Secret History is also amazing and very dark academia.
No I understand how could that be ur intention? I mean people just think way too much. I loved the video a lot tho
dark academia expresses my life perfectly, the way they dress and they activities all match my personality.
Okay I’m going to go over all the ones and how I feel I relate
Classical: I read so much and love books (new or old) it sounds pretty relaxing and reminds me of a English teacher, and the fashion is lowkey ok.
I think this is very much my aesthetic
Romance: I am not a bright colourful person nor a light person. Definitely not for me
Light: the colours have already put me off. I prefer the brooding
Novels and films: the films are all great. I feel they scream light academia or classic. These wouldn’t be for me as such. They don’t have the feel I look for. The novels interest me though as they sound thrilling and exciting. I could read and I wouldn’t stop
Overall I think dark academia with a dash of classic is me.
When you want to wear that fashion to be aesthetic but you live in a country where some people judge about what you wear 🙂
People judge everywhere. Just go and wear what you like, don’t let other people’s thoughts influence you.
Have a good day!
People is always going to judge. Better for you if you just decided to live with that and inspire the rest of the population to try something new instead.
People judge you everywhere,it's not about where you live,it's about your confidence
Same but I go to high school where people are SO judgey.
who cares if they judge you? you only live once and they won't live your life
this was absolutely amazing ive been trying to figure out what academia aesthetic i fit into and its dark academia thank you so much keep it up
Poet and romantic are mostly me just because of how much I’m into literature and not as much into the plots or the fantasies just the beauty of the writing and reading iy

PS: the phone > books is a tragic byproduct of our age, it's a global disaster.

most of my life revolves around dark academia, on the contrary, i am also greatly influenced by romantic academia. i’m on a scale between them, but at the end of the day, my heart, brain, and soul belongs to dark academia.

I fell for green academia after finding an account on Instagram. It's such a beautiful aesthetic....
If I don’t romanticize studying, I can’t study lol
take all of this put them together
and
yeah thats my academia aesthtetic
me: my aesthetic is dark academia
math: are u sure ur even "academia"
uh- I need help
1)i write poems but most of them are sad
2)im a hopeless romantic
3)I love reading, fantasy is my favourite genre and I'd preferably always pick up books with at least a little romance
4)fashion wise, i don't like to cover myself up, I like to show the right amount of skin, like wearing skirts a little over my mid thigh, sleeveless tops, off shoulder tops, crop tops, etc.
5) I learn and study classical music and aspire to be a singer
so am I romantic academia?? im so confused-
Or dark
I realized a lot of what I wear and do (and aspire to do) were legit described in the Classic Academia aesthetic. I'm glad there's a community for it.
If u guys want another good book to read I'd recommend the picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
finally, there's a name to my aesthetic. romantic academia hello
I would go dark romantic. And for a novel - Donna Tartt’s “The Secret History”.
