ok but can we appreciate the diversity of the examples given? the representation of women of colour, hijabis, plus-sized ladies, and men in the video is amazing. it’s lovely to see diversity in an aesthetic that is normally mostly white!
Yeah... I would love to see diversity in African countrys as well (i'm mixed.. So lighter dark skined and people here dont embrace lighter skin tones more often)... :(
@@catiatavares7757 African countries are very diverse. Blk people come in all shades. Darker skinned people are often told to bleach their skin, not try to dismiss ur experience tho.

@@lavender1653 in Africa?! Girl, i'm from south Africa. People here do not like lighter skin tones. Periode. I just would love to see people getting along without this prejudice. I love my black and my white ancestry, because it was cimented in love, both of them. Its like saying that i dont love my gradma for her light skin. Wth!!!! This is getting worse day by day.

me too! i found my self at least at 5 academias. my style for example i find it between dark and romantic academia , my taste in reading etc . ! hhahah but we can create another one , right? academias are for developing as much as we reading. so we can create a pastel academia with with dark pastel colours or something else. am i right?

I swear, my parents are fairy academia. Lavender and chamomile is the smell of my childhood. We would always create quilts and bake, every weekend. My parents loved taking us on walks.
I'm personally more dark academia but I LOVE fairy academia. It reminds me of home.

I've generally noticed this a lot about the academia aesthetic in general - that it usually is a very Eurocentric aesthetic. So I just wanna say my thanks here for you acknowledging this about it! Also for saying we should strive for inclusivity. I very much want to see more diversity in this aesthetic so it's great to see people saying it's needed and welcomed.

But I'd like to mention something to be fair, a lot of European people pointed out that this whole aesthetic don't represent the majority of Europe, since it's only about England, France and only Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome, so it's not exactly as Eurocentric as it seems, especially when things associated with the aesthetic such as coffee, tea, and gold jewellery started from non-European countries and most Europeans don't belong to the cultures that are represented in the aesthetic

I was thinking the art academia would sport earthy tones as well as muddy and statement colors too. Art academia should be able to express a wide range of colors as well as having an appreciation for the variety of art styles all over the world. Great job on capturing the aesthetics and activities of each academy!

Open labcoats over wool vests, star charts painted on domed ceilings, brass microscopes, gathering field samples into small vials, telescopes in front of attic windows, memorizing formulas at 1 am, "magic is just scince we don't udnerstand yet", old world maps with flayed edges, discussing a new study you read, blackboards full of equations and graphs, carrying a leather field notebook in your pockets, messy cursive handwritten notes, coming up with your own whacky theories with friends, carved wooden library tables, friendly debates, fountain pens, spilled ink on white blouses, late night banter on leather couches by low coffee tables, excitedly exchanging astronomy facts, copper bobby pins, a small plate of strawberries and swiss cheese for a haphazard 6 a.m breakfast, black coffee in shot glasses, prism lightcatchers in front of tall windows, chalk powder fingerprints on black pants, lemonades made of lime and brown sugar, quoting laws of physics.
Never seen a lab coat worn over a wool anything, that I can remember. Office shirts, yes; smart casual shirts/blouses, once even a green spaghetti-strap dress.

Classic, fairy, and pastel but I tend to wear more dark colors(dark blue, royal purple, and some light pink) and leather jackets and boots...love science, video games, reading, day dreaming, plants, nature, camping, exploring, leather journals, tarot cards, tea, coffee, figuring out how something works(machines), hiking, long walks, animals and frilly and dark clothes. But I also wear some masculine clothes with hints of bright colors.

I’m really happy to see more representation on this video! I noticed that the last one seemed to be aimed pretty much solely at girls (and all the models were white, skinny girls) and tbh my “faves from each category” comment on there is mostly just a list of the only androgynous/kinda masc ones I could find. This is a huge improvement, and I’m glad the video author took the time to address people’s responses and ameliorate any issues!
Every academia looks so beautiful and I want to do some but then I realize that perhaps I can do nothing. I have no sense of style so everything I decorate would look awful and this is not practical as well. If I try to wear any academia clothes I will look ugly for myself :'(

tbh seeing the paint image in the beginning of the first video, I thought there'd be art in the first one but I'm glad its here. I just love that its got such a practical, comfortable, 'I don't have time to get an outfit together that takes an hour I'm just going to wake up and throw something on for the studio' vibe and its so me.
I'm an art academic but my art is fiber arts. I have five spinning wheels, dozens of drop spindle, knitting needles, a lovely loom in my library. I knit lace curtains, large shawls, wool socks, over sized sweaters, cowls, fingerless gloves, etc. I wear a necklace that is a yarn cutter. I have heaps of books on vintage cross stitch and needlepoint of botanicals that I put on tea towels for the kitchen and sew skirts that I embroider little kittens and such on. Handmade quilts are on every bed.

I didnt realize I was more into dark witchy academia until hobbies popped up.
I would spend hours in my nearest antique shop looking through old books and items reading and admiring the old or rough texture of the things. My favorite thing I found once was a fake book box it had a lock and everything the outer coat of the box felt like a real book with the line textures and everything I didnt have money on me but I wish I did I would've bought it.

As I'm going through these, I'm defining myself. I can see aspects of me in all types but lean more towards Romantic, Light Witchy, Fairy, Art with recognised Dark and Pastel balances. As the clothing styles are similar it's creating an interesting effect for my style. Plus I'm finally getting a sense of me. Doesn't look like I'll be floating anymore with my personality. I think the disconnect I've felt for years is finally disappearing. Looks like the 2020s is the decade to finally sort ourselves out.
