NOTE: The retention rate is a bit lower, but we gotta keep the youtube gods happy! I really like how this is coming along now, but we need to expand on the underground thingo. I mean, your little talk about that seemed pretty good for you and the algorithm! Could I ask though, could we see what’s happening with the underground city concept?- even just thought out plans or buildings. I think it’s been in the back of our minds for a bit, and could help keep others hooked.
Where do you get your foam board? I have been to your webpage and followed several of the links in your descriptions, but I can’t find the information. I’m in the US.
My dude, I don't even Warhammer and I can't stop watching these build videos. There needs to be a word invented that surpasses "Epic" for the work you do.
Same here. I know of Warhammer, I even think about learning how to play it one day, but for now I don't. And yet, I'm LOVING seeing these build videos.
It's 'cause he used to work constructing sets and miniatures for the film industry - I do film/tv lighting as a spark and I've seen the work these guys do up close and holy shit - they're amazing at what they do.
I think I'm in the mood for some Middle Earth. I'm for sure hyped about the Legions Imperialis build, especially because I play the game, but I love your Middle Earth builds.
@@Zorpazorp Came to say the same thing. I don't play Warhammer, love watching you build, but I feel like switching it up could be like a..pallet cleanser isn't the right word. But something different so there's a variety of flavors. Love your work!
About the motivation business: 1)In Russia there's this really famous Lenin quote popular, cemented into russian minds since the Union times, which sounds like this - "Best rest is action". And it means exactly what your patrons have been suggesting - switch up the projects and work on something else. 2)Studies have shown that mixing up different lighting levels in your workspace during the day helps increase productivity. When your eyes perceive through a different lighting level, they send a signal to the brain, tricking it into thinking something new and interesting is happening! Awesome vid, thank you so much and good luck!
On lunchbreak - open youtube, new Zorpazorp Imperial Palace video! - 10/10 lunchbreak. Love these videos and your energy in every video, keep up the great work.
I think the Imperial Palace again. Now you've got the dedicated viewers here for Palace, and you've got a series going. Interrupting it now I don't think would help your other already started project. As for this video, I know it's not as "done" as the last two however I liked seeing the modularity on that large scale and the bridge fitting. It's looking closer to being done as a whole with what you've added.
Love it, I love the whole WIP focus, it's actually really inspiring to me to see the process overall than a 30min speed run to completion cause this gives more realistic expectations for scenery to make jumping in more reasonable. As someone with severe ADHD that tends to jump into things with both feet and then get discouraged if things don't go as easily as predicted, seeing the long process is very helpful and personally helpful to know that it's not super easy. Thank you and keep up the amazing work
Have you ever thought about auctioning / selling games on this board? You could imagine selling - say - ten tickets for $100 or so for one event a month and it’s a new revenue stream for the channel and something people could do on holidays in NZ. Doesn’t preclude other games with your mates.
I really think this 20mn format is where you shine the most. I really enjoy seeing you carve and build this palace video by video. Although, I may want some middle earth because I don't want the palace building's journey to end soon 😁
Hahahaha thank you mate, and yeah that's actually a big draw for me to return to Middle Earth hehe, not ready to be done with Palace yet! Like emotionally haha
I will watch whatever you do! Your builds are so motivational in both sides! The ideas from the palace can be switch to middle earth or warhammer fantasy so easily that every video deserve a minimun of 10 views!
I am not a long time fan or anything but i think the important thing for me that keeps me coming back to see these videos is that you do at least a handful of videos before moving on. Seeing the handful of videos on this project is what has kept me interested in it. I feel like if you change to something else and only do a little bit of progress before changing again i wouldn't care as much.
This Imperial Palace project is probably in my top 5 favored series on TH-cam. I have learned a lot from your videos and have used some of your techniques in my projects. I am mainly here because I like the channel as a whole. I am just happy to see any update on the palace and watch it take shape. This video was really good, I don't think it needs to be a major development every time. Seeing a collection of smaller details like the cannons and the bridge and hearing an explanation of what's happening is necessary for the grander vision. I can appreciate it all as an indicator of the direction that this project is headed. Personally, I would like to see more of the Imperial Palace, but what I love to see most is your passion for your projects, so do what you are passionate about and, I'll keep watching for that.
always impressive to see your crafting skills hard at work. Also absolute heresy that at time of writing you have almost 1500 views on this video but only about 300 thumbs up. How can you not press that like button with this stupendous amount of top tier work ❤
@@Zorpazorp he's also a big warhammer nerd too, so even bigger coincidence. Like, he has a Warhammer lore podcast called "adeptus ridiculous" and has sisters, night lords, and guard armies
Loving it Lauchie, missing middle-earth but it seems to be doing good for you, congrats on the support and the sponsors to come back, keep it up, inspirational as always! P.S. update the 1st part of my Erebor board and Helms deep board are complete as always you inspire me, starting a new board soon as well!
More Imperial Palace! The chopping and changing thing was what started to drop viewers in the first place. best to keep going with the new format that's turning it round! ❤
I am just in awe at the massive amount of work you got done in just a couple weeks. This Imperial Palace project seems to be bringing in all your strengths: integrating foam and plastic together, layout/design, kitbashing, gameplay design, all of it. I am curious to see by jumping back and forth to the Middle Earth board if you've gotten some fresh ideas that you could bring into the Minas Tirith board. I think bouncing back and forth will not only help avoid burnout, but you'll constantly be learning and trying new techniques/strategies/efficiencies that will only make both projects better in my opinion. So, now that you have the basic layout of the corner sections for Terra, I think it's time to go back to Minas Tirith with what you've learned over the past month.
The Imperial Palace continues to be top tier, so I'm happy for that train to keep rolling! With regards to the content, even if it is mostly carving foam, seeing the techniques you use is really educational. Plus the vibes are always excellent! Glad to hear things are looking up a bit and can't wait to see what comes next!
Been watching for so long, and I just cannot stress how much you’ve helped me realize my desire to get into warhammer, and now I am. I play once a month with two buddies, and you’ve been the one to inspire my desire to play. Huge thanks, you’ve helped me realize my dream of playing WH40k (and even now I am preparing my T’au Empire Combat Patrol team)
Idk, but this feels like the PERFECT map idea Legions Imperialis, the large scale of the Imperial Palace would help with the small scale of the units in Legions Imperialis
Hammerhal would make me moister than an Idoneth in heat. The AoS architectural aesthetic is super cool and high fantasy so would be a significant departure from the also gorgeous Middle Earth builds
This is absolutely incredible! It boggles my mind that you, a single individual (with a little help from some wonderful Servitors), creates THIS much epic scenery. It doesnt seem possible. And yet... You don't just move mountains, you make them.
I just love how each time i sit down on a big project, you upload a video in the hour, building mental warhammer projects always feels better when someone is doing the same
Im glad the format is working. I know its way more work, but the regular upload schedule is awesome to see the palace rise up and keep coming back for more.
When it comes to detailing, maybe think about the access to those titanic guns as well. The Energy weapons might need huge cables and stuff like the rocket launcher and canons somehow have to be reloaded by crane. The ammunition also has to be transported to the guns, so you could for example place some railways which lead from the gun to an entrance in a building.
Looking awesome and truly mad with the Imperial Palace build. Adding another giant tower? Brilliant! And I'm looking forward to returning to Middle Earth and Minas Tirath.
This is so epic and awesome on figuring out how to more efficiently prime this stuff. This is going to be an amazing piece for a large event to game on! Heck, even just as a large display piece with minis on it for a larger con one day, this is just amazing. I'm running out of words to through out here but seriously, job well done!
Dude, I just enjoy your energy and builds. I'm happy to watch and support whatever you decide to do for your next video! Most important thing for me, is that you continue to enjoy what you're doing, as that's what comes across in your videos :).
You sir are an inspiration! I don’t play warhammer, but I do build dioramas for action figures, and the techniques you used and the creative ways you merge plastic and foam are really giving me a lot of ideas. Thanks for the EPIC videos!
Bloody AWESOME! I need more Imperial Palace! I can see how much work has gone into this and I think you need to reach out to the 3D printing crowd to help you with battlements and guns.
Warhammer is always cool, but the LOTR content always keeps me coming back. Loved the “what if” scenario battles, and have been DESPERATE to see Minas Tirith get finished!
This board is seriously beautiful, and will be an enormous structure, when finished. The sheer size of the project is daunting, but you seem to just take it all in stride. By all means, keep slugging away at this, but keep preparing Minis Tirith buildings, when you need to switch it up. Every video this seems to get larger, and more involved, but I am absolutely loving it. The idea of having multi level combat is really intriguing, with bridges down lower, accessing seperate levels of the palace, involving different chaos and loyalist legions, and their giagantic machines of war. Oh what an incredible apocolyptic battle will ensue on this baby. I trust you have read a detailed account of the battle, so you can field the right opponents, for the correct defenders to tackle. Truely epic doesn't even begin to describe this board.
Would love some more minas tirith, but gotta say, it's so impressive how this imp balance build is like a full on 'biggature'. The way you're building these giant, highly precise cabinet like blocks is amazing
I'm a middle earth fan, however I'm really enjoying the Imperial Palace content you've been sharing. This almost feels like I'm watching a Netflix series-I can't wait to see how the Imperial Palace will unfold. Middle-earth scenery could attract a broader audience as it has a vast following, could be a great way to expand your viewer base.
Loving the Heresy stuff at the moment Zorp, I’m regularly refreshing my feed to check when the next updates are out. Personally I think you’d be best off finishing this part of the imperial palace (you’re so close to having it done) and then you can always expand for a “Season 2” some point later in the year. I like Middle Earth, but I don’t think it would capture me as much as the Heresy setting. Whilst views are booming I’d keep tapping into the Warhammer / 30k Fanbase. Perhaps if you needed a mini break you could always do a spin off series, like painting a few Heresy units like some SOH or Blood Angels based on the siege whether that be Epic or Big scale. (At least then it’s still linked to the Heresy and Palace theme) If you were really demotivated and wanted to do some middle earth, then perhaps just paint some LOTR models and post them like some goblins or infantry. The first video of yours I watched was the Ork Killteam which I loved. Could always just scratch that hobby itch, and then come back to the Palace next month for the last push. Hope that ramble makes sense, but I think stopping the palace now then you’re so close to having an insane section done would be a mistake.
Once again - absolutely smashing it with these videos. Love more imperial palace and really enjoying the momentum, but actually, I’d happily watch some middle earth in between palace videos. They’re much more fun to watch when you’ve clearly enjoying the process.
Looking forward to a bat rep for this board. Also my head cannon is that the 28mm titans are actually sized for epic scale so that was the best thing to see!
It’s looking very good but it’s a grey city backed by grey walls. I think throwing some giant magnetized banners could help break up the slabs of grey and you could make one that’s a list of those who helped build the palace and those defending it (patron supporters)
I know you tend to ever exspand your builds but it never ceaces to amaze me mega mega MEGA stuff man. And i still think rotating trough projects is a great way to keep folks intrested, i know i'll keep coming back
I'm good with either video. I only work in medieval fantasy, but I love the techniques I learn from you when you do the Warhammer stuff. So, crack on. Whatever you feel like, I'm on board.
Absolutely amazing build! Every video has been spectacular and I applaud your work ethic. Honestly the amount you’ve built is dumbfounding. Each video that comes out always has me ready to see what’s new and each time I’m left awestruck. I can’t wait to see what comes next for the imperial palace!!!😎👍
OMG this looks incredible!!!! I am so happy you continued with this project. I wouldn't know where to start or have the skills to do this so hats off to you mate, awesome work
I'm so happy things are looking up for you dude, you're an awesome guy and deserve to be happy and do what you love. Happy to see anything you are doing as always
I am so incredibly impressed with the honesty in how you’ve made this and being so welcoming to feedback, I seriously hope this works out for you. These are incredible and deserve way more, I can’t wait to see more. And I always love seeing fellow kiwis succeeding in the world
I get what you mean about feeling like the video didn't give the completionist vibes we enjoy, but still loved it mate! You integrated the plastic super well and I'm very keen to see the next result of your efforts. That super tall bastion has me excited!!
Very epic. I hope many people will send you their leftover bits, it will immensly help with the detailing. Though the painting of such a thing would make me cry ;-)
Man I’m addicted to this build, it’s so damn epic!! I’d love to have a game on that board once done, even just seeing a video of a game taking place. Can’t wait to see your next update!
Looking good, Lachie! As I said in the last video, I think you should continue the Imperial Palace to completion before you move to Minas Tirith (no matter how much I'm anticipating that board!). I feel like if you stop partway (or when you're so close to the end), the series will lose momentum, and it will be difficult for viewers to pick up again~
I've never had much interest in WH beyond Middle-Earth. But dude you're fantastic and I look forward to watching your videos everything they come up. I'd love to see an update on Gondor, but build what you want, and don't worry about how much you get done, we'll watch! Keep on building!
i will watch anything you put out - i'm always here for a new zorpmadness video, no matter what. Gosh i envy the folks who are going to play on the palace "board" (its more like a real palace at this size), that must be a dream come true for many
Love this build! Edit: I also like the switching things up, I switch between 2 different 3D projects, it helps clear my mind when I get stuck. Everytime I get stuck I switch, and then when I switch back I suddenly know exactly what to do. So I like switching a bit between them.
Fun fact. If you look up "mad lad" it's just a photo of Lockey. 🤣😂 I'm a middle earth guy but I will always watch these videos as you've hooked me and your projects are simply unreal and need to be appreciated. Looking forward to the next one and the updated Minas Tirith.
HAHAHAHAHA Thank you so much Nicky! I'm doing a MT day today working on the main gate (shhh spoilers) which is a nice break and then I'll decide tomorrow if it's one more Palace video or I keep going and knock MT over! Thank you as always mate!
i cant wait to see the fully finished build (and all its steps). This will be bombastic. Playing on that board feels like your measly 240" range on artillery guns is not going to be enough XD
Its missing something. The emperor sits there on his golden throne. GOLDEN.. I think we need some shiny stuff. Some proper shiny stuff. Some REAL gold for the details. This project deserves it
Its funny how big this looked way back in the first video - cant wait for your 50 hour siege of terra game on it!! My vote: whatever gets you motivated. I love the LOTR stuff and it's what got me onto your channel in the first place, but this build is absolutely mental so can't wait to see where it goes
Absolutely love the inverse conversion. Being able to field Legions Imperialis and Horus Heresy/40k is an achievement literally only one man has able to do... Zorp
I'm always in favour of finishing this project, and I think a big part of feeling like progress is made is basically big things getting added. Now that the shape is there, it looks significantly more complete than it was, moreso than if a lot of the fine details had been painted on in one part of it. I didn't really care for this project when it started, but now I'm really into it. That being said, if you feel like you really don't want to do more of it, there's no point doing it if you hate it, take a break and do another project if you're feeling burnt out of this one for the time being.

The level of scale, ambition and commitment on display is inspiring. I'm full of admiration.
I like switching back and forth between the two projects. The Middle earth content has me tempted to pick up a starter box of that game.
Ooooh yayy!!!!
Oh man that imperial palace is *chefs kiss*. GW - Send this man more kits!
Thank you Rob!!!
(At least then it’s still linked to the Heresy and Palace theme)
If you were really demotivated and wanted to do some middle earth, then perhaps just paint some LOTR models and post them like some goblins or infantry.
Thank you so much Graham! Thrilled you're enjoying the changes I've been making mate.
Imperial palace! I’m loving this video series and it’s much easier to stay engaged with regular progress on one project
More of this insanity! We need more Palace! Don't stop, Dorn needs you!
Zorp my eyes bugged out of my head when you described your intention with that 3m tall tower bastion. I can’t wait to see how you pull that off.
Looking forward to a bat rep for this board. Also my head cannon is that the 28mm titans are actually sized for epic scale so that was the best thing to see!
I share that head canon
It’s looking very good but it’s a grey city backed by grey walls. I think throwing some giant magnetized banners could help break up the slabs of grey and you could make one that’s a list of those who helped build the palace and those defending it (patron supporters)
Already in the works my friend!!! going to have them with awesome burns and catching fire and stuff haha :) :)
I know you tend to ever exspand your builds but it never ceaces to amaze me mega mega MEGA stuff man.
And i still think rotating trough projects is a great way to keep folks intrested, i know i'll keep coming back
Thank you so much buddy :) :)
I wouldn't know where to start or have the skills to do this so hats off to you mate, awesome work
after seeing the amazing work that you do, honestly i'm here for whatever you wanna build next!
Ah cheers Joshy!!
I'm so happy things are looking up for you dude, you're an awesome guy and deserve to be happy and do what you love.
Happy to see anything you are doing as always
Who needs the completion buzz, when we can look at gorgeous turrets? Those titan guns look _so_ good on the walls!
I am so incredibly impressed with the honesty in how you’ve made this and being so welcoming to feedback, I seriously hope this works out for you. These are incredible and deserve way more, I can’t wait to see more.
And I always love seeing fellow kiwis succeeding in the world
You are most welcome mate, and thank you for your gracious words
I get what you mean about feeling like the video didn't give the completionist vibes we enjoy, but still loved it mate! You integrated the plastic super well and I'm very keen to see the next result of your efforts. That super tall bastion has me excited!!
Thank you SO MUCH Angus you proper legend
Very epic. I hope many people will send you their leftover bits, it will immensly help with the detailing. Though the painting of such a thing would make me cry ;-)
So happy to hear you are getting armies painted to play on the table, look forward to it !
Amazing stuff! Rooting for your channel to grow, and grow, and grow!
I love what your doing by asking the audience what they want to see
I've never had much interest in WH beyond Middle-Earth. But dude you're fantastic and I look forward to watching your videos everything they come up.
I'd love to see an update on Gondor, but build what you want, and don't worry about how much you get done, we'll watch!
Keep on building!
This has been a big inspiration to dig out my half finished terrain board and finally get it done
This whole Imperial Palace idea is 🔥 🔥 🔥 Love to see your vision of it!
Thank you!
As much as I would love to see more Middle Earth content, I feel like a completed project may be more satisfying. Continue with the amazing work!
i will watch anything you put out - i'm always here for a new zorpmadness video, no matter what.
I'm a middle earth guy but I will always watch these videos as you've hooked me and your projects are simply unreal and need to be appreciated.
@@Zorpazorp Looking forward to the update and always happy to support!
i cant wait to see the fully finished build (and all its steps). This will be bombastic.
Playing on that board feels like your measly 240" range on artillery guns is not going to be enough XD
Imperial Palace!!! Love Middle Earth, but I want to see this project through completion and battle report.
Me too Nicky!
Its missing something.
The emperor sits there on his golden throne.
GOLDEN..
I think we need some shiny stuff. Some proper shiny stuff. Some REAL gold for the details. This project deserves it
Spot on Marty! All in good time :) Boring grey first then bling!
That bastion is gonna look absolutely epic! Can't wait to see it. The board is really coming together now
Its funny how big this looked way back in the first video - cant wait for your 50 hour siege of terra game on it!!
My vote: whatever gets you motivated. I love the LOTR stuff and it's what got me onto your channel in the first place, but this build is absolutely mental so can't wait to see where it goes
Dune , Warhammer, star wars , middle earth , I don't care just as long as zorpazorp is making videos (especially in this format) I'm interested!
You're the best moosey
I'm stoked to see you having multiple projects you are passionate about! Keep the passion alive and I will click anything you put up!
Loving the palace vids. Keep up the good work!
Super fun video to watch! This build keeps getting more impressive with each stage.
Just keep doing what makes you happy my friend.
Stunning work, envy your skill and passion.
Wishing you peace and universal happiness
the idea of zorpazorp in my rafters will be forever burned into my mind
