I talked to the number 44s father and he told me what exactly happened with their tire deal. There was no intention to change tires the way the did and they were instructed to do what they did. It adds to the confusion, but it’s important that I don’t paint them as cheaters. So please don’t take it that way.

I run bombers out there and wasn't far away when the tech man was notified about the tire. I feel bad that you saw how we get treated by him on a weekly basis and if people knew what he told one of our driver they would understand why half of the class isn't coming back next year. Come back down March 4th for the battle of the stars at Goodyear in Jacksonville it's a hell of a track to race and it's owned and operated by a racer.
I know it's nowhere close to what you lost last weekend but he has cost legal cars over a $1000 from the bigger races for us due solely to the failure to tech and uphold the rule book as it is written and then get combative with us when we try to ask what the fee is to protest and we still have no idea what it is
Don't like the place don't go back Carteret will do just fine without you. I knew the man that built the place and it's gonna take alot more than you to turn people against the place. You get on TH-cam and bad mouth the place and then think they care if you don't come back? Bent wheel or not a rule is a rule and because your team didn't get called on it until the end of race really means nothing except it wasn't pointed out until then. You admitted you broke the rule and tried to exploit what you're team thought was a Grey area in the tire rule. I know many drivers who won't hesitate to head to cateret it's the nicest short track in NC. If you follow the rules you won't have to worry about being kicked out. Suck it up buttercup and follow the rules next time. A video of this nature has a way of bitting you in the ass in the end. I have a feeling if you were to try and go back to this track after blasting them and openly admiting to breaking the tire rule you would be denied entry into the track.
As a dirt late model and modified racer for 30 years hearing this does not surprise me. I had 3 tracks within a hrs drive that I loved but refused to race at . Simply because of that same type of thing. I'm stubborn and don't care. Leading points about mid season after a night I was talking with the owner of the track about a fellow racer getting screwed that night and being the officials fault. He told me if I didn't like the way he ran his track, don't race there. The following 22 years as myself and many followers drove by on the way to his competitors track we honked and waved. That was when a race that pd 1200 dollars was a very big deal. I raced as hard for 10 as I raced for 15k. Stay true to yourself. Sounds like that place is run by libs and dems
Yep. Taking this track out of the schedule doesn’t do any harm to me. It’s location is in a bad spot for me. 8 hours away, but it doesn’t make sense to fly there bc the nearest airport is still far as hell. So I gotta drive instead. It won’t kill me not having to do that next year

Dang man I'd race for nothing but the fun of it if I was fortunate enough to do so. My family has been a dirt racing family based around racing at Lernerville since the late 70's. I was born in the 90's and sadly my father and all other relatives that raced retired from it and sold off everything before I was old enough and showed the want to do it. The problem with Lernerville locals is that they really do still pay like it's the early 2000's. The wear and tear on a car could easily exceed what they pay to win the dang feature. What really makes it feel wrong is the cost to spectate and all of these extra things they add to pay for preferred stuff for spectators has all skyrocketed yet the payment to win races does not reflect that. For these reasons despite living so dang close to this place I have only been there like 3 times in the last couple years when I've probably been there like 400 times during my life.
Honestly not surprising. I race late model dirt and we deal with similar things every weekend. Years ago a friend of mine was racing against the track promoters grandson and beat him. I remember the man walking up to an official and plainly telling him to "find something wrong with the car"(talking about my friends car). What a beautiful coincidence that somehow they found something. Win was stripped and given to the silver spoon. We didn't go back until after the old man died a couple years later when things got better.
Im a weekly ministock driver there and the rules the track has are always broken in one way or the other. The track has its pick few in each class and its never a fair race there. At anytime the bomber or ucars are allowed to run with us ministocks and in the end it screws us weekly ministock guys for the points standings. I love the track but the folks there need to get it together or it will not stay around long. Great run, in my eyes and thru honest eyes you got the win, congrates!!!

But, it sounds like, once you went back out after tires one of your crew guys should’ve gone and informed that official exactly what the deal was. Then, if they said no you could’ve come back in and put the other tire back on the car, or at least done something different. Then the track absolutely would have no leg to stand on with this bs. First time hearing about this but it seems the track should be up with the times. Yes 5 tires but they needed to have a spare left and right scuff tire and put it in the bank or right down the bar codes for the spares. Definitely sounds like you got the short end if the stick
My dad raced there last month, said he loved the track, but the officiating sucked, said they were asshats. Dad finished 6th, scored him 11th, dad contested and they told him why does it matter, all the pay is the same fro..5th back, dad said I spent way more than that to be here, it's about bragging rights....he won't nor will I
Had something similar just happened to my buddy. It wasn't over tires but you could tell it was predetermined he was gonna get disqualified by what the track owner said during the pictures. So he got disqualified. They took his check back his trophy and would not talk to him about it. Then they gave the win to the 2nd place car and it never went through tech. Smh
Yes they show favoritism. My grandson won a legend race took the checker flag and because the guy they wanted to win was second. They said it had to be restarted. And all this after the burn out and victory lab. Knowing good and well his tires were gone. They restarted and the other guy hit him hard coming out of turn four. They only gave them 1 lap. He ended up second.the reason we weren’t there this weekend!!! But they said it was not over even after a checkered flag. They are super twisted and the tech guy is rude if you don’t agree with him. You got robbed they do it often.

I love Carteret. The facility is truly unique and beautiful. Hate that this is coming down to an officiating call from 70 laps ago. But teams should radio in when they need an extra tire for safety. Some teams got away with it, the 44 got caught on camera. You have the misfortune of being in the winner's spotlight.
I agree, I love the track. I don't love the people. And I truly believe they didn't care what I did because they didn't think I'd win. Then they changed their mind
I was seriously expecting the 14 to win the $50,000 at Southern National. He came in 2nd though. Dude that 88 came to life during the last 20 laps Saturday night. Everyone was cheering when you passed the 14. Wasn't even my money but I was pissed when they overturned the win. I was there when Tristan came up to you after you won and apologized to him. That was your win for sure.... We race the bomber #77 (Papa Smurf) and they straight ran u-car against us which is b.s. Bob definitely needs to tighten up on how the track is operated.
Unfortunately poor officiating seems to be the norm in late model racing. Often we end up on the losing side of officials or tech inspectors that don’t know the rules off hand. We’ve even had to show the tech man the rule book when it came to wheelbase and tread width. With the amount of money invested in running this equipment you’d expect more professionalism.
No matter 2 tire, 4 tire, or whatever tire rule you always have at least 2 scuffs available and staged incase they are needed. I guess they expected anyone who had 2 flats, not unheard, of to simply drop out and park. Ridiculous.

It’s not a nascar sanctioned track so it’s basically the Wild West. They can make up their own rules and do anything they want with no higher power potentially punishing them. We just won’t ever go back
I live nowhere near this track(over 3 hours away) and have never been in my life but I could still tell you that there car counts suck. I think a lot of it is the travel to get there honestly but still 10000 dollars you think would be enough incentive to bring out all the normal guys.

A 5 tire race is a 5 tire race. Simple. If you use a 6th, obviously there's gonna be repercussions. The officials have lots to take care of during a race, they don't have time to babysit you.
Other people were allowed to have 6 tires. They checked with an official. The official was well aware of the situation and so was race control. Don’t you think the repercussions should’ve taken place the moment they knew?

The Solid Rock conspiracy is ludicrous IMO, that guy sponsors many many races and probably 20-30 cars during the year. He’s one of the biggest assets LMSC racing has. The 14 finished second to Josh Berry in the Thanksgiving classic two weeks ago also sponsored by Solid Rock why wasn’t the 14 given that win ?
When the track isn't making any money they hire less officials. How is one official supposed to oversee 20 cars pitting at one time potentially? It is physically impossible.
Wow I'm a racer my self and it happens to us all the have their so called track favorites and that's it the biggest problem with local tracks around or country. Sorry for your loss and I'm sure all this will do is hurt them in the long run. So look at it this way they will loss at the end carma is a mother.
it’s happened there several times while others get a pass. Bomber class is a STOCK class with clear rules. The vehicle must be stock the way it came. One car gets dq’ed for an aftermarket ECM at another local track then comes back and is tech’d again and it has the factory ECM in it now but was found to not be plugged in. ECM in hand outside the car and it cranks because the hot ECM was still hooked up and hidden so that persons car was banned from the track so they took it to carteret. Guess what. ECM never checked and it had oversized taller tires and we know what that was for and they knew about what had already happened at the other track and had also heard about it from racers that raced both tracks and they did nothing and in turn has lost a lot of cars over it. Again it’s a nice track and facility but shitty management and tech guy will have this track shut down shortly. You should check out Goodyear all-American speedway. Good people over there that don’t cave to monetary pressure.
I was there it sucked the alway around my wife spoke to the owner and told him he was about to lose a bunch of racers in the lower classes and his response was that's ok there will be more he is an arrogant prick sorry that this happened to you
actually the 44 was made to take the sticker off.... the sticker was on and the official ran over and made 44 take off the the sticker... because you can only change a tire under the segments....
Anytime after the first segment you can add a sticker tire to the car. It didn’t matter if it was just a caution or a segment. The pit stop I showed was way after the first segment. If they said to do that, that’s ridiculous. Im not calling y’all out or anything. I believe you, and If they told you to do that it adds to the ridiculousness that took place Saturday night
Anytime money is involved and politics are probably involved meaning one of there friends didn’t win the race. They should have worked it out between the crew while you were out their racing. It’s not your fault the track was to broke to have enough officials to reinforce their rules or maybe it was just for these situations. That deal with the 14 car was absolutely absurd. I had rookie of the year taken from me because of a kid that came in and had money. He had a best finish of 5th twice and i won 4 races and finished ways ahead of him in the points.

I gurantee the track owner has a kick back with the sponsor. To me if the car with the sponsor is obviously their first choice to who they want to win. They will change rules and calls to make that happen. This track should be turned in to the feds and other sanctioning bodies. Cuz they have to have licenses to have the races and other races. So if their is shady stuff happening and it’s. Blatantly obvious. Then the track owner should be done being able to have big races and or racing series at his track. File a lawsuit that way u can actually make them show proof and defend themselves.
I live fairly close to the track and I don't even race there I've raced many stocks bombers U cars anything under late models and I now go race a Goodyears because of the way Carteret treats certain people and how they don't tech things that they don't want to tech even though the guy is blatantly cheating

Cause usually Late Models the last class and the fans leave and aren't down there to hear some of the half ass rules that they come up with on the spot that benefits the driver and team they want it to benefit. Oh yeah small track cheating owners LOL We were running for a track championship 2 years ago with 5 races to got the only way we wouldn't get it was if we missed 4 races Guess what that night in tech we were DQ for "grooving tires"(not against the rules) which we had been doing all year and suspended for 4 races The guy in seconds motor builder happened to be a big track sponsor surprise surprise The week before we were accused of moving spring (which we had not) between the heat and feature (we managed to afro engineer it so the spring was where they claimed it belonged) we still won that one I will never set foot on that track again as long as the current owner/promoter is there

Short track racing is hard enough there is no real money to win when I raced I spent 100 times more than I won and it's not much different today that's why short track racing has been declining seems like it's coming back but to have a race track or promoters going by their rules and changing them when they need to is crap if you cheat and get caught your DQed but the track can do what ever they please wrong wrong wrong

Unfortunately poor officiating seems to be the norm in late model racing. Often we end up on the losing side of officials or tech inspectors that don’t know the rules off hand. We’ve even had to show the tech man the rule book when it came to wheelbase and tread width. With the amount of money invested in running this equipment you’d expect more professionalism.
No matter 2 tire, 4 tire, or whatever tire rule you always have at least 2 scuffs available and staged incase they are needed. I guess they expected anyone who had 2 flats, not unheard, of to simply drop out and park. Ridiculous.

It’s not a nascar sanctioned track so it’s basically the Wild West. They can make up their own rules and do anything they want with no higher power potentially punishing them. We just won’t ever go back
I live nowhere near this track(over 3 hours away) and have never been in my life but I could still tell you that there car counts suck. I think a lot of it is the travel to get there honestly but still 10000 dollars you think would be enough incentive to bring out all the normal guys.

No reason to throw that caution, just let leader come back to checkerd flag! Pretty clear they weren't happy that the US Legends champ rolled in last minute to spoil the Harvick parade!

A 5 tire race is a 5 tire race. Simple. If you use a 6th, obviously there's gonna be repercussions. The officials have lots to take care of during a race, they don't have time to babysit you.
Other people were allowed to have 6 tires. They checked with an official. The official was well aware of the situation and so was race control. Don’t you think the repercussions should’ve taken place the moment they knew?
There should be more than one official working pit road for a race of this magnitude.

The Solid Rock conspiracy is ludicrous IMO, that guy sponsors many many races and probably 20-30 cars during the year. He’s one of the biggest assets LMSC racing has. The 14 finished second to Josh Berry in the Thanksgiving classic two weeks ago also sponsored by Solid Rock why wasn’t the 14 given that win ?
When the track isn't making any money they hire less officials.
How is one official supposed to oversee 20 cars pitting at one time potentially? It is physically impossible.
Wow I'm a racer my self and it happens to us all the have their so called track favorites and that's it the biggest problem with local tracks around or country. Sorry for your loss and I'm sure all this will do is hurt them in the long run. So look at it this way they will loss at the end carma is a mother.

Sounds like to me that you used 6 tires in a 5 tire race.

it’s happened there several times while others get a pass. Bomber class is a STOCK class with clear rules. The vehicle must be stock the way it came. One car gets dq’ed for an aftermarket ECM at another local track then comes back and is tech’d again and it has the factory ECM in it now but was found to not be plugged in. ECM in hand outside the car and it cranks because the hot ECM was still hooked up and hidden so that persons car was banned from the track so they took it to carteret. Guess what. ECM never checked and it had oversized taller tires and we know what that was for and they knew about what had already happened at the other track and had also heard about it from racers that raced both tracks and they did nothing and in turn has lost a lot of cars over it. Again it’s a nice track and facility but shitty management and tech guy will have this track shut down shortly. You should check out Goodyear all-American speedway. Good people over there that don’t cave to monetary pressure.

actually the 44 was made to take the sticker off.... the sticker was on and the official ran over and made 44 take off the the sticker... because you can only change a tire under the segments....
Anytime after the first segment you can add a sticker tire to the car. It didn’t matter if it was just a caution or a segment. The pit stop I showed was way after the first segment. If they said to do that, that’s ridiculous. Im not calling y’all out or anything. I believe you, and If they told you to do that it adds to the ridiculousness that took place Saturday night

Anytime money is involved and politics are probably involved meaning one of there friends didn’t win the race. They should have worked it out between the crew while you were out their racing. It’s not your fault the track was to broke to have enough officials to reinforce their rules or maybe it was just for these situations. That deal with the 14 car was absolutely absurd. I had rookie of the year taken from me because of a kid that came in and had money. He had a best finish of 5th twice and i won 4 races and finished ways ahead of him in the points.

I gurantee the track owner has a kick back with the sponsor. To me if the car with the sponsor is obviously their first choice to who they want to win. They will change rules and calls to make that happen. This track should be turned in to the feds and other sanctioning bodies. Cuz they have to have licenses to have the races and other races. So if their is shady stuff happening and it’s. Blatantly obvious. Then the track owner should be done being able to have big races and or racing series at his track. File a lawsuit that way u can actually make them show proof and defend themselves.

I live fairly close to the track and I don't even race there I've raced many stocks bombers U cars anything under late models and I now go race a Goodyears because of the way Carteret treats certain people and how they don't tech things that they don't want to tech even though the guy is blatantly cheating

Oh yeah small track cheating owners LOL We were running for a track championship 2 years ago with 5 races to got the only way we wouldn't get it was if we missed 4 races Guess what that night in tech we were DQ for "grooving tires"(not against the rules) which we had been doing all year and suspended for 4 races The guy in seconds motor builder happened to be a big track sponsor surprise surprise The week before we were accused of moving spring (which we had not) between the heat and feature (we managed to afro engineer it so the spring was where they claimed it belonged) we still won that one I will never set foot on that track again as long as the current owner/promoter is there

Short track racing is hard enough there is no real money to win when I raced I spent 100 times more than I won and it's not much different today that's why short track racing has been declining seems like it's coming back but to have a race track or promoters going by their rules and changing them when they need to is crap if you cheat and get caught your DQed but the track can do what ever they please wrong wrong wrong
