  • I am ExactChaos and I play all kinds of tycoon games.
I am a city planner because I loved SimCity while growing up. I have enjoyed figuring out simulation and tycoon games since before I can remember. Even now in adulthood (if you can call me that) I still enjoy nothing more than spending a few cosy hours with a simulation game, you know those that require a bit of thinking. You will see stuff like Airport CEO, Cities Skylines, Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic, Banished, Project Hospital and anything else new and exciting in that genre on this channel. The focus, you guessed it, to figure things out and constantly improve.

In this series we play Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic using the new realistic mode, that’s right no getting out of jail with mistakes, and we look at what is new since we last played. WR:SR is an intensive city builder and resources tycoon hybrid. You plan and build your city, but also manage the economy of your glorious soviet republic. This includes, managing workers and resources to create or import what the republic needs and to export the surplus and maintain a healthy bank balance. In this series we go so far as to manage electricity infrastructure and fuel for vehicles. It is awesome, trust me.

The little road sections cannot be done with machines…

I have at least three decent cement plants in collection, so they exist. In this chain, bottleneck is always gravel. Both cement and prefabs use a ton of it. You'd need at least two vanilla processing plants running 100% to feed them. Excess cement is also rather useless. It's low value with specialised wagons to transport. Prefabs have even lower value.

@@ymeshulin I tried to export them and run out of gravel for construction. :D

I am enjoying your series. Thanks! I think you will have issues with pollution building that close to your city. 800m to 1km seems to work best.

@0:45 you gave *the* most anti-American response here ever. No one in America would ever consider moving a prison because the prisoners would all die of pollution. Here we would say, "Meh, there just prisoners. If they didn't want to die of pollution, they shouldn't have committed crimes!"

@@JayJayGamerOfficial nah, the giards will just get issued protective equipment for the pollution, a pay raise.l, and more unobserved freedom to assault the prisoners.

thanks for the new series, EC! What do you think's the best priority for road gravelling? I'm wondering if it's better to do the main arteries first, or the paths emanating from the construction offices so you can get to construction sites faster.

My guess is, that you should go for the arteries first, since every construction requieres trips via the arteries too. Artieries have the most trips so the plus 80% speed bonus affects more vehicles more times.

Always prioritised in terms of road hierarchy. Biggest amd busiest roads first
