Sorachi should've made an episode about Hijikata's past, because using Kondou and the rap dude convo to convey about his past wasn't enough. This is why I wish Hijikata was one of the main characters.
I mean I think he still does count as a main character as he's the one with the most screen time after the yorozuya (which is still really a huge amount). Him and the shinsengumi still got many arcs centered around them be it for comedy or not although yeah I do think it's too bad we didn't get more about his past.
dont usualy enjoy skillit but you combined a song with a perfect beat to match with perfect parts for this amv repayed it probly 100 times even aftre watching the anime thanks for making these moments replayabale moments 4 me thnxs.
RISE AND FIGHT THOSE EVIL DARK FORCES ,.........OF EVIL........WILL NEVER WIN........LIGHT TRUE WILL ALWAYS SHINE BRIGHTER THAN OF THOSE FAKE ONES.................
Does anyone else wonder, why Hijikata thought, it was a good idea, to go solo with a katana against someone with a gun? And no one from the Shinsengumi guys around him tried to help? I mean, the fight was badass, but also unrealistic. And the fact, that Hijikata got up, had some epic moment, then started wandering around the battlefield, like he hadn't been shot three times, almost cut half once, and flew a solid five metres...
When consuming a form of entertainment, it is best to try to think what the main focus or in which direction the creators are trying to bring their works to. In most battle shonen like Gintama, Jojo, FMAB, etc., they are more focused in epicness, humor, and positivities such as fighting spirit, the power of friendship, etc., which are themes fitting for their target viewers: younger audiences, or like me, adults who just wanna sit back and watch something that can help me relax. On the other hand, there are stuffs like Attack on Titan, Monster, Death Note, etc., which put realism into one of their main focus, and possible other focus being the questioning of human nature, moralism, etc. Such shows are usually targeted at older kids (I've tried watching those when I was younger, and I can definitely say that I was able to appreciate it more when I rewatch/reread those when I'm older) and basically anyone who wanna immerse themselves into a darker or heavier-themed series and wanting to have that sense of constantly being on edge. tl;dr No, I don't, because realism isn't something the creator of Gintama had in mind when producing it nor it is something I seek from it knowing the nature of this series. If you try to find something which isn't supposed to be there, you'll miss out on enjoying it.
YOU REALLY KILLED HIM!?
YOU TOLD ME TO KILL HIM!!
lol
I know I laugh at that part too
Ginatama's evil grin faces are priceless.
No more "be my email buddy" 😭😭
I never expected to love him but damn--

I definitely agree with this....
Gintoki and Hijikata make the best comedy duo EVER!!!
Not looking back at the explosions makes you cool, eating a hotdog sandwich filled with mayo makes you cooler.
I used to hate mayo. Kidding, always loved that sh*t.
sougo was such a badass "sorry i sliced the last pillar" jumps out the building and it then crumbles i love it!
I really like Gintama. It always makes you feel happier.

Suppose Hijikata was the main character on this but later on, Hideaki Sorachi san change it to Gintoki with Hiji as a reference
