    Have gone thru two Wahoo cadence sensors. First Wahoo was very inaccurate and they sent me a new one. Still wasn't happy and decided to replace with the Power Tap! Love the Power Tap. The Wahoo cadence sensor case is flimsy and gets easily damaged when taking it apart to remove or replace the battery. Can not recommend the Wahoo sensor, but extremely happy with the Power Tap. Best part is the Power Tap is $10 cheaper.

    Really useful video, btw if you have a magnetic resistance stationary bike, as opposed to a spin bike, you won’t need both a cadence and speed sensor, because they’ll tell you exactly the same thing. Without any gearing (note I haven’t said resistance) the relationship between cadence and speed should be linear. The magnetic resistance will make it more difficult to pedal but the relationship will always be 1:1

      @jussihakala1466 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Looking forward to that. I have an old Precor spinner with good clearance around the flywheel, so I think it should be fine. The only concern I have is whether the Wahoo speed sensor functions properly in a different orientation than it was designed for, that is, when installed flat on the side of the flywheel.

    • @jussihakala1466
      @jussihakala1466 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      In theory, you would just need one sensor, because the ratio of the two sensor readings is constant on a fixed gear spin bike. In practice, I suppose you could stick both sensors on the cranks to get the the speed and cadence data for the apps and just play with wheel diameter settings.

      Zwift caps virtual power at 400 watts since it's not a true power measurement, only estimated. You'll need to pair a power meter to Zwift, whether that's a crank, pedal, or a smart trainer, to go above that 400 watt threshold.

    I have tried to connect with garmin, speed and cadence sensors, but the application does not recognize me, will I be doing something wrong? Thanks for the help

    • @DesFit
      @DesFit  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Garmin Speed and Cadence Sensor version 2 sensors have Bluetooth and ANT+ so if you’re trying to connect the original sensors (which only have ANT+) to an iOS device they won’t work.

    I just bought the wahoo speed sensor, I set it up on my bike, I did everything like the video but I have a single problem, I went up to 347W but I was slower than ALL of the other players does anyone know why this is happening?

    • @DesFit
      @DesFit  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Zwift caps power at 400 watts if you don't have an actual power meter since the power number is just an estimate with just a speed/cadence sensor.

    Recent got a wahoo cadence and speed sensor. I noticed my watts do not go any higher than 400. I’ve done some research and it says it caps it at 400, is there anyway fix this?

    • @DesFit
      @DesFit  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There isn’t. Zwift caps the power since the number is a virtual estimation and not from an actual power meter.

    • @aaronflanagan8340
      @aaronflanagan8340 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could I potentially select a “supported” trainer which will demonstrate a rough estimate watt output that I would be doing with wahoo?

    • @DesFit
      @DesFit  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure exactly what you mean, sorry, but the power will still only be virtual and estimated based on the speed sensor if you don’t have an actual power meter. It’s actually not way off but there can still be variances. And capped at 400.

      You have to control resistance manually with a non-smart trainer setup like what is demonstrated in this video. The Wahoo Kickr Core is a good option for a smart trainer. th-cam.com/video/Gvvo5gMtl7s/w-d-xo.html
