I just happened to see your comment by reviewing the video, the reason would be because they had the chest injury & that was the reason for the exam. And atelectasis would just be an incidental finding. Now if they came in for chest pain or cough or shortness of breath or something then you would code the atelectasis.. hope that helps.
Hi Melinda--sorry I am so late to responding to this. It looks like someone wrote back (Thanks Jen Kelly!) and it's not coded because it is incidental to the exam. The reason the person was seen was because of the chest injury--so you would code any injury related findings.
