I do have to say, though, I took a practice one today and it actually had urine secreted 5-HIAA and it was all spelled out and for the life of me I couldn't remember what it would be abbreviated to. Question do GI carcinoid tumors metastasize to the lungs or is the bronchial carcinoid tumor on its own ( site of the tumor) ?

why doesn't a carcinoid tumor in the lung affect left side of heart? if the tumor was in the lung, wouldn't serotonin directly go to pulmonary vein and get to left side of heart?

This just don't make any sense. Adenocarcinoma is strongly connected with smoking, a lot of other research says this. The only difference is that a large percentage of non-smokers are associated with this type of cancer, more than any other type of lung cancer.
