Anticipation and Excitement build as your music takes your listener through an increase of energy and tension. Provide enough pressure, and your drop sounds strong. Provide enough change, and your drop sounds Exciting.
As a producer, you need to understand the vital role a buildup plays in your music. For example, if we go from 60mph to 80mph, this change in speed is less exciting than going from 0MPH to 100MPH. The energy shift is more substantial, starting from a standstill. The same thing applies to music buildups. If you build up with 80% of the elements and drop at 100%, there is a 20% change. Is this change enough to make your drop feel more significant and exciting? That is up to you to d-ecide based on your genre.
However, every single tip you will learn in this video will provide a more exciting setup for your drop. It's up to you to control what information you use and how much change you decide to implement to execute the HouSE Techno Build UP.
Pre-Drops can work and I encourage you to use them in tracks that warrant them, but don't make the mistake of over-using them. I wish I wouldn't have used them too much. Take it from ME...
With these tips, you should have a good review of how you can create effective build ups for your House/Techno tracks. Use the knowledge and adapt it to your songs to create the best setup for your drops.

Nice video!! Sick song in the end mate! :) For the dj'ing part and predrop...Mix out faster a few songs in a row / loop sections before the drop to mix into to and / or prep your set

Thanks Zen.. super useful this one.. as a DJ, I personally don't really look at pre-drops as a separate factor when choosing the next song to play but mixing out must start at the pre-drop to maintain phrasing so it can get tricky if we're not paying attention.. Luckily most DJ gear allows you to put a colored cue point to remind you where to mix out..

13:47 - 14:30 is B I T C H I N B R O. I'm gonna work on something similar with a trance track. I love that technique. DOPE AF. I've been in the rave scene since 96, and I'm telling you thats badass. I keep replaying this so I can assemble something similar in my own tracks. Much love (no homo) lol.
