I’ll be hiking sobo this summer right after I graduate high school. Fantastic documentation! Was it tough to get a permit starting in Canada? I know it’s hell to get one for north bounding but I would guess it’s easier to get one coming south?
Aaron S It was no problem in ‘17 and I can’t imagine it being a problem this year. Still a huge majority are going north. Good luck on your hike, and thanks for watching!
This a beautiful little snippet of the PCT. We don’t get to see much of Washington from the Nobos, they are too busy racing Old Man Winter by this time. Recommended start date window?
Christine Rhiner thanks! I would personally start late June or early July in a low snow year and closer to mid July in a high snow year but with a mid July start you have to hike kinda fast
Great video! Now I have to see all these episodes as well! Keep up the good work👍 Only AT between you and the 👑👑👑 from the other side of the Atlantic Ocean the PCT & CDT looks awesome and the AT kind of boring...🤔⁉️
AroCos Adventures 😂 yeah some people would say that. I wouldn’t call it boring but it doesn’t have the dramatic scenery of the other two trails. You have to really like the woods!
AroCos Adventures I am not planning on it any time soon, but you never know 🤷🏻♂️ I grew up on the east coast so there are a lot more places I’d rather do a long hike
Martin Dohnal I didn't use exactly the same stuff as for Arizona, but close. I used a zpacks solplex which mostly I thought was very appropriate. Here is the list
Sara Petrous 20-25 in Washington, 30s or high 20s from Oregon on. If you start July 15th I think you only need to average around 23 mpd to hit forester pass on oct 1st. I reached Forester on October 2nd but we still got snowed on lol so just be ready for it.
Finished watching this playlist today, thanks for all the footage, and Well done!!!! Love your style.
Cool quick summary. Thanks for sharing. This year it looks like it is my year :-)
Cheers from LA.
This time of year, all I can think about is getting back on trail. This definitely fanned the flames. Thanks for the beautiful film :)

Hi Dan, what sleep system did you use? Borah Gear flat tarp? How it worked? Also, do you have some gearlist that you used? Thanks

How many miles did you hike a day before the sierras? I’ve heard you have to get lots of mileage in to avoid the snow.
