Ron, there was a lot of super cool albums that kept calling my name, but I remained strong and shut off my hearing aide so I couldn’t hear them anymore lol
Hey Steve. Another great outing! I saw a Lime Spiders in your flip, love them! Wow! A sealed Horton Heat! I have most of his catalogue on CD. Boss Hog, love them! Nice snags, and congrats on bringing albums you used to own back into the fold. Cheers
Bobby, I’m also a fan of the Lime Spiders, almost grabbed that one but I thought the price was a little high. The Horton Heat, sealed , such temptation but I walked away
The 12-inch for "Rockit" by Herbie Hancock really gets the party started, and the jacket is pretty cool, too. I'm a big fan of Peter Gabriel's early albums. They have a great selection of jazz albums at that store.
Mark, I love Gabriel’s solo music up until the early 90s then I totally lost track of him. Rock it had been eluding me Mark, finally a nice clean copy of it to rock the house with.
I never would have known about that album David. There were a lot of albums that had my interest in those bins. Wax Trax has of great albums, just not the cheapest place to shop
I love surprise pop-ups. I can see there is some punk bands I've been looking for, namely Lime Spiders and The Hellacopters, great punk/garage. Some Roland Kirk style jazz would also enhance my collection quite nicely. Oh yeah, some cool titles by The Residents there too (just for the fun of it). Excellent Grandaddy album there that I also need. I could way overspend at that pop-up. Great records to bring back into your collection, I still need to bring back Gabriel's solo albums, but I do have a copy of the Hancock record. Fun shopping video, I'll have to send you some money to pick me up a few records next time 🤣
Stanley Marketplace looks like the kind of place we'd love to shop at - we love quaint off the wall malls - and there was plenty of good stuff at that Pop up. Congrats on finding your self control gene, Professor - there's hope for you yet, LOL! Good pickups too - I don't have any of those you bought, but I do have various singles by both Gabriel and Hancock in my collection. Love the teeshirt too - how true, how true...So....what did Aiden think of the Bluey? Viewers need to know these things...heh heh...
TC, AI is now giving my responses that I can choose to answer comments, isn’t that inefficient and nor personable. My son goes to this place a lot but he never shared it with me, pretty sad. Very cool place. Aiden has not been over to hear his 45 yet. We will have a dance party lol.
Oh man what a selection! Wax trax is really cool I’ve gotten some Sonic Youth boxsets and Shellac albums. Glad they’re branching out a bit with more locations it’s never happened to me but some people run into Jello Biafra shopping there 🥴
Yeah they sure seem to be branching out. I picked up my first Shellac album this year, really enjoyed it. I need to get Dow to their main store but I’m scared about how much money I may spend lol
Hello Steve; The Stanley Marketplace looks stocked. Prices can run from normal too expensive. The Blues section looked sparse. The Horton Heat had a remain in the bins price tag. New feature movie release" Bad Influence Grandpa '' Always good to bring back some old titles into the collection. Take care, Tina & Pat!~
I found a Herbie Hancock Rockit 45 rpm 12inch single that really kicks ass. I was watching my granddaughters yesterday and Bluey was on the whole time. I think they'll be talking like Aussies after it's all said and done 😊.
That Subterranean Modern comp is worth it for the cover alone, but has some neat punkish/New Wave bands on it as well. Crome is a pretty cool band. I have that Hancock album too.
Mike, as an Australian I feel it is my duty to point out the Lime Spiders & the hard to find Bored! album you put back. Also not sure I’d put VU in the punk section or the Killers in psych 🤦♂️ Reverend Horton Heat in the Avant/Weird section WTF? I would’ve got that Boss Hog. Never seen the vinyl before. Love the early Peter Gabriel records even the scary one. I need Future Shock just for Rock It. Agree the video was wild & probably the first time I head record scratching. Nice Mike. Cheers…Mike
Mike, I thought the price on the Lime Spiders was a little high. Bored, never bored in a record store Mike Things were not sorted the best but there were some cool albums I have never seen. I was just trying to show that I do have self control!
Yeah that's Kate Bush's vocal on that song "Games Without Frontiers" I just bought from A thrift shop /Named SAVERS 4 Singles..No/ 3 singles & 1 EP...For A dollar fifty each Jimmy Lloyd /I got a rocket in my pocket( Picture sleeve)(Rockabilly) Tex Rubinowitz/Hot Rod man( Picture sleeve) (Rockabilly) Johnny Ray/EP..Just Walking in the Rain& 3 other songs The Ramrods/(Ghost) Riders in the sky
I was there when I visited my son a few years ago and loved it. I have been focused on showing the smaller record stores. I will get there sometime soon.
Sorry, Steve, I did not get a stiffy watching this one. That Prog/Krautrock section was SAD. And basically only two artists under Avant/Weird. B-52s on Warner Bros. Is “Indie”? Nice Peter Gabriel scores. Glimpse of a redhead at 9:33 who looks like my late wife. I hope her ghost is haunting record shops.
Lmao, no stiffy That was a laugh out loud moment Michael. I try to dive into various bins for everyone but their punk was definitely the biggest section. Whoa, a ghost, I need to check my video now to see if I see that person or is it just you. That is pretty weird isn’t it
Geez I ain't been in a record store for about 5 months Steve. I should go before Christmas and buy myself a record. I've got two packages of records ordered 3 weeks ago but were having a postal strike and no doubt I won't see those records until next year some time. Unions are no friend of the people Steve... They became high maintenance prima donna broads when they became powerful. Time to divorce mankind from their clutches... At 9:13 $20 for that really ugly James Brown Live at the Apollo shook me.... Crazy prices for used vinyl these days. For new records too. It's Nuts.....
Bobby, prices are nuts especially in the Denver area. Our government tends to get involved in a strike that would be from postal workers. Since it’s essential they generally are not aloud to strike. Striking during the Xmas season really sucks
Hi Steve, I bet those JD bootlegs are a bit underwhelming, the ones I had were very so-so. I was going to say to get the official live Joy Division release Les Baines Douche 1979 which is incredible, but I've just noticed the prices have gone mad
Harris, those boots were so darn tempting , I have never seen them before but now I know. Vinyl prices going nutty, yeah the world’s gone mad and the US is leading the way lol.
When you were flipping through those records, I couldn't help but think how overwhelming collecting vinyl is. There's just so, so much. Even with a large collection and years spent listening to music, there are a million bands and artists I haven't even heard of. My wife turned me on to Polyphia yesterday. Have you heard of them? The guitarist is insanely talented. th-cam.com/video/Z5NoQg8LdDk/w-d-xo.html&start_radio=1
Darryl, I had not heard of Polyphia but I watched a few videos and found them very enjoyable. I did think Tim Henson was a lady but I guess not. They can really play fast. I agree with you , there is so much music, we really can only scratch the surface of it
Two points you can't have a sealed record that wasn't originally sealed. Secondly I believe as most Jazz is instrumental they fake most releases Miles Davis my bum its session musicians. Nobody plays them that often to notice. You can release the same bit of music under lots of different names. I had all the original Joy division lost them when the bank foreclosed. I felt sick genuinely when you showed some. Ten tears ago I was at a Leicester record fair and was actually sick when I saw the prices they had reached.
Peter, I have had so much sticker shock after the flood when I was trying to build my collection. Prices have gotten crazy. It is too bad that they took your music during foreclosure except for all those boxes of CDs. You had such a massive collection though it was lacking on jazz albums. Denver is called the Mile High City, I think it’s because the prices are a mile high.
the land looks very beautiful
Glad you enjoyed it, wonderful place
holy cow, those joy division boots alone! mekons, rock and roll is great. cheers.
Ron, there was a lot of super cool albums that kept calling my name, but I remained strong and shut off my hearing aide so I couldn’t hear them anymore lol
Amazing place! I have one of those Joy Division boots 🙂Great PG albums, of course. Nice t-shirt.
Brian I had n3ver seen those bootlegs, so darn tempting

@@stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147 Yeah, the Horton Heats were off the charts expensive. Cheers

10:11 - The Hope Blister - Smile Ok ! A 90's version of This Mortal Coil on 4AD. They cover Slowdive & David Sylvian on it.

The store that does these pop ups, Wax Trax, brings a lot of heat. There prices are not the best but the albums are so cool that they bring.

Damn! I saw a Warrior Soul - Space Age Playboys at the 4:15 mark I've been looking for forever!
great band should have been bigger.
Sadly I didn’t know that group so I just went right on by. Now I’m curious to see what they are all about Steven
@@stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147 they were about 6 years too soon not glam but heavier than grunge

lol, a day filled with Bluey. Now don’t you wish you had that 45 Greg?
Holy crap Horton Heat $250!!!! Thank goodness for reissues, mine was only $25
Well Dom, if you decide you want a sealed original you let me know, I’ll even pick it up and mail it to you. It is a great album
That Subterranean Modern comp is worth it for the cover alone, but has some neat punkish/New Wave bands on it as well. Crome is a pretty cool band. I have that Hancock album too.
Dave, hope you have been well and have been busy painting. I am unfamiliar with the Subterranean Modern comp, that sounds like my kind of comp!
