I just discovered French wire after restringing a friend's pearl necklace and watching some videos. I really love it! I think it looks so much nicer than the wire guardians. It really gives your piece a professional look. I am definitely going to start using it on all of my pieces.

I agree! 🙂 It does look much more tidy. It is a bit fiddly to work with, but is worth it for nicer pieces. Happy creating, Lisa!

Thanks for your help! I’ve had this french wire for about a year now and just ran across it. I was pretty sure how to use it but figured I’d better make sure ~ you confirmed it for me. Thank you for your time 😊

I see you are a French Wire Aficionado as I. Very cool! I love the stuff and I totally dig that you are thinking of some of it’s versatility. Very smart not to throw any away or else at some point at 3AM some where in the future you will be awaked with a realization that damx it, I could have used those in this project or that project...

Thanks for the nice comment, Carla. You gave me a chuckle. :-D I try to keep a balance of not keeping EVERYthing, but keeping what might be truly useful one day. This is how craft studios fill up!

I have never even heard of French wire, so I got a good lesson on it. I agree, the possibilities are limitless with it! Thanks Sandy for keeping me updated! Loved the bracelet you showed, it reminded me of Easter. Blessings

Glad you like it, Abby. A video tut for the bracelet is coming soon. I'm definitely thinking "Spring!"

The French wire is great in the use of stringing pearls.

Yes, that seems to be what comes up the most when looking into how to use it: that it makes a nice, elegant finish to pearl strands.

I wonder if you can make your own French wire using very fine wire and a very thin mandrel (like a hat pin or something)? Thanks for the video. I'd heard of the wire protectors but not the French wire.
