The trick to doing the ends of anything is that the first end is easy because there's plenty of slack, the second or final end is what's harder because you want to take up slack before securing or tightening you crimps, or other finding. Please do a video showing how to do the second end!
Hello, Darla! You are SO RIGHT about the first end always being easier than the second! I always give myself a few extra inches of being wire because the cost of the wire is so worth the leeway it gives when working on finishing a piece.

Just some items I noticed: 1: your camera person wasn't keeping up. 2: Partly your fault, you were going too fast. 3: It would be great if you left links where we could purchase the items you used. I really liked the corrugated crimp covers and they are very hard to find! I tried your site, and so far, 4 or 5 of my usual suppliers and I can't find them. SO.... Stupid question from someone getting back into beading: back in the mid ‘70s I was making beaded jewelry necklaces snd bracelets for local jewelry stores and I had been taught to ‘tie off’ my clasps. I never used crimping beads so I was a little surprised to see so many using them. From a strength standpoint for more expensive gemstone bead necklaces, is crimping indeed the better way to go?

I'm starting to use this type of wire and I'm used to using string where I could just tie off and knot at the end... if I have 6 wires going through a bracelet how can I finish it at the end please help!!
Oyacitas, you can pass all of the wires as one through a crimp tube as long as the tube is large enough. Size 4 is the largest and can accommodate 6 of the beading wires and back through. :)
I am doing exactly the same thing with my crimp tubes and crimp covers when making my bracelets. I have the exact same crimp tool as well. But I am having problems with my crimps holding the wire tight enough. With a little tug the wire is slipping out of the crimp and the bracelet then falls apart. I don't know what I am doing wrong. I am using 2x2mm gold-plated crimp tubes. And my wire is the correct size for that size crimp tube according to the package instructions. I need to figure this out. Please help.

You need to say what the name of all the items you are using. There was a end to a bracelet you used and you never said name of the end you used.

HI, are you suggesting that crimp beads should EVER be left uncovered? The spiral french wire is ugly enough (it stretches and folds open, looking very sloppy, showing poor workmanship) without an uncovered crimp. Also, the wire guard is very unattractive, does Halstead have a wire guard cover? I would suggest always demonstrating the highest quality presentation for someone that is making products for sale. Thank you for the great video and several different options, and your time.
Can you use a seed bead inside a clamshell? I’ve actually seen this done but is it a good idea?
Not sure about cutting the wire so close with out letting it go down to a few beads
9:02 this is the classic problem that no one knows how to solve: you'll find a well closed end, but in the other side the end thread remains outside of beads, you could see it. So it isn't tight 😖
It is a struggle to get it tight enough that the thread or beading wire doesnt show, but not too tight because then the jewelry is stiff. You want it to be flexible. I try to leave about 1/8-1/4" exposed to leave that "give," but sometimes I crimp it too tight and can only undo the piece and start over. I think it's something you just have to practice a lot so it becomes muscle memory.

This video is UNclear about quite a few things. (See my first comment, below) For instance, you don’t name the item you use that sometimes “comes with a clasp attached”? This is the kind of video that needs to be clear & *precise* because crimp beads etc. are so hard to see & work with. The pieces are so shiny to begin with that I struggled to see the tiny findings. You discuss numerous items without naming them. If there was info about wire gauge I missed it. I feel more confused than before I watched. Maybe this happens when sponsor sales are more important than sharing helpful techniques?

I found some at jewelrysupply.com . Just check any jewelry supply stores on line. Most have all the items they used. I checked at their own website for the corrugated crimp covers, and they don't sell them. I've looked, and they are hard to find. Still looking!

I know the first item is a “wire guardian” but you don’t say that. You just move on to what you call “French bouillon,” which I don’t find on eBay or Etsy. Ave to leave it for a whileWhat else is it called? Also, you show it with wire & a clasp but offer no info about how to use it. Maybe later in the video? What’s the device called that looks like a coil that keeps your work from coming apart when you have to leave it for a while?
The device with a coil is called a "bead stopper", you can find it in bead stores like artbeads.com, beadaholique.com, potomacbeads.com, or firemountaingems.com. I think the second thing was "French wire" but I don't know anything about that, sorry. I've heard it mentioned before in videos but I've never seen a really clear demonstration on what it is or how to use it.

Could really tell what you are doing with the crimp moving very fast and camera doesn't follow well and change products without showing before or after to much of a flash but good information

I wish they could have named them.
This was a terrible video for the simple fact that it didn't accomplish the goal. I believe the intention was to show the different types of finishings that could be applied, and how to apply them. The techniques went too fast, sometimes it didn't even show the whole process, like at the the end when she was to show her technique for making the loop, she had already started it before the camera swung back to her hands, with her stating that she 'just automatically started' , but didn't start over to demonstrate. Which was another problem, the camera kept going to their faces instead of to her hands, she fumbled frequently with the findings, and didn't show the products used, or the techniques employed clearly. It was a complete waste of time. I think I was more confused after the video than I was before! I'm sorry they both seem to be nice, personable people, but teachers, they were not.

@@carolewebber9974 Read some of the other comments...you will see I am not alone in my opinion...It is frustrating to watch a video and find out you have wasted a half hour or hour of your time....that is what comments are for...so people can see what other people think about the video...much like reviews on Amazon when you are thinking if buying a product...after watching so many DIY videos that are awful...I now look at the comments to see if I should even bother to watch it...there are many great videos where they actually do the things I mentioned...

Why do you guys make so much trash as a „jewelry”. Metal, gunmetal, plastic, glass, rubber paper...almost like anything you find in the garbage.And then you want to decorate people with these findings....
Jewelry is so small part of dressing up, that it should be made if precious stones and metals, otherwise it ruins all the estetics. Unless someone is CHEAP but wishes to look „pretty” , so congratulations if such person feels comfortable while decorated in the trash. It is a pathetic pity to look at such „ beauty” with such a taste.

Lol..thank God few people think like you do...the DIY jewelry industry is full of millions of us who LOVE it and would rather spend $200 or $300 on beads, Crystals, wire, etc. than a 14k gold necklace as we LOVE creating...to buy the same amount of supplies in 14k gold beads, charms, chains, findings, etc. would be impossible for many of us but also because we LOVE all the "junk" too! We could care less about your looking down your nose at us!
