Here is my thought, if Maye is not ready to backup Brissett then Zap will need to be ready as the backup. I mean you gotta get them both ready. I feel like that is part of the reason that they have multiple coaches at the same position to be able to break them up as needed to give more reps.
Maye also did not do conventional drops in college. He was taught the back peddle under Phil Longo, so he is learning the crossover and shuffle steps as a new technique. When Mayo said he had a lot to work on, it's true he is starting ground level it seems.

My take is with how Mayo and Wolfe have treated players is that they are being respectful to Zappe saying he earned these reps he was a starter we need to do right by him to start.
However once the inevitable happens and Maye shines sooner than later than it’s Bailey Drake is just outplaying you.
They want to show the team they respect players like Zappe and what he contributed.
But once the season starts Maye is either starting or number 2 for sure.
Milton is the third and developmental and Zappe is on another team.😊
Kyed needs to be on every ep
Let Maye watch the veterans. I promise you he will get the reps he needs.

Agree with DK, quit the games. Maye is suppose to be the future. Get him as many reps as possible. Why waste them on Zappe?

Doug, I see your point but we got a spoonfeed this kid. He’s a baby he’s only 21. It’s OK if he’s third in line who gives out crap.
If he is third in line behind Brisset and Zappe they picked the wrong player. He was a top 3 pick he should be playing right away
@@googlechicken don’t you know anything about football? Josh Allen was the same way and he worked through it. You don’t think people can work through it. You don’t want to destroy his confidence put him out there. He’s not the wrong player. He has to learn is extremely young. There’s nothing wrong with that. Mahomes sat the whole year. Brady sat the whole year. It’s called learning. And I guarantee you in three weeks Zappy will be cut. He’s just a camp body have him do it while he sits there and watches him. It’s called learning he will not be on the team in three weeks.

It’s all fundamental and small things he’s working on so why not give him time he’s only 21 if he still has bad footwork Thts causing inaccuracy by the time we got pads on then he needs time in the oven
