Cole Strange. Fire able offense
After returning from his injury in week 11 last year Strange was the #2 ranked PFF guard with a score of 85.x for run blocking. He was far from the worst guard in overall score when pass blocking is factored in
Nick Cattles is an idiot and you cannot predict injuries.

wow - Bill really got snookered on PArker, the guy is now out of the league and DHop is still playin and Billy Boy re-ups and doubles down on a dude with marginal performance - that's one of his top ten bone head moves
Parker looked fine when Zappe was throwing the ball in 2022 and most of 2023. By the end of 2023 he was a shell of himself barely making an effort.

Where was Strange drafted
Late 1st, after trading down due to a lack of other options. He was the #2 ranked PFF run blocker at his position when healthy last year. Injury is certainly shitty but that's not a scouting thing he took those injuries in NFL games.
Greg the tomato
Tyquan Thornton needs to be used in two ways. Sideline long routes, Using the speed. Red zone. Other than that he shouldn't be on the field. He's too thin and can't take a lot of hits

He is fast, use his speed to go long on if Jacoby brissett or Drake May can hit him deep and or sideline routes where he won't get hit regularly he can be useful. Believe me I am not a fan of who I call Thornton melon. But at least give it a try before you cut him

So last offseason the guy felt he outplayed his contract and wanted more money and we paid him more money. This last year he missed almost the entire season and he wants more money. So when he doesn't live up to his contract he wants rewarded as well? No way, suck it up or trade him

I am a BSJ subscriber so dont assume I am a hater but I truly think Nick is abandoning his integrity as a sports journalist by going SO HARD on the "Bill ruined this offense" takes.
Guys, Mac sucked. Like you have to start grading some of these results on his inability to give WRs and OL more time and more chances for their negative stats to level out. Im not going to say Parker and JuJu would have been all pros with another QBs but they all played better and won with even Zappe in there!
Greg is a great writer and worth the cost for his sources and experience but this podcast has been saying the same crap over and over for two years now. Nick is getting old for me.
As soon as Belichick ran Brady out town , the party was over. Brady was a Unicorn, 49 times he led comebacks in the fourth period. Strange 's number one pick , epitomizes Belichick's arrogance. Mel Kiper had Strange going in the Third Round . Marquee status could take time to regain.

Belichick put last year's offense on the field in order to lose games, get a top draft pick, leave the largest cap space number in the league and get the new head coach a weak 2024 schedule. You forgot that he got rid of a good kicker and replaced him with a bad kicker. Number 3 pick in the draft = mission accomplished. (BTW in 300 years Belichick would never have spent a #3 pick on Drake Maye)
