    Been living in downtown Franklin for the last year. We love all the local shops, restaurants, and great festivals the city offers.

    My first memories of Franklin are from 1973, when my high school, New Albany, beat Franklin in double overtime in the afternoon round of the state basketball Final 4. We went on to win the state title that night, which in Indiana is pure glory. I apologize, Franklin. I know it hurts to have come so close….
    Beyond that, I have great respect for Franklin College. I’ve met some faculty and graduates and based on conversations with them, I’d say it’s an excellent school.

      That was a great game. I grew up with the McGlocklin twins who were just phenomenal ball players and great guys.

    We retired here 5 years ago after 30 years of military life, and traveling the world. Just in the last 5 years it has improved downtown, with the amphitheater and splash park. Nice people, great stores, new restaurants, and good weather. Schools are nice and people are friendly.

    You had it in the background in one shot, but you failed to mention the Historic Artcraft Theatre that is seemingly required by law to be included in any profile of Franklin. It's a very beautiful theater.

    I drove through this area last year and was surprised by how much it has improved from what I remember. It had a quaint, small town feel while not being that far from Indianapolis.

    I moved to Franklin in 2012 to get out of Indy and glad I did...everything is here that I need, doctors, dentists, a hospital, Kroger, Meiers, Walmart, Kolh's lots of places to eat lots of even gas stations who seem to be much cheaper than the surrounding area for some reason. Downtown is nice and safe to walk around. The people here are friendly and seem to give a damn about the community.

    Franklin looks pretty but I'm looking for something with more amenities and good hospitals nearby. Plus, I don't want to take care of a big yard either. Do you consider Carmel a good place to retire as far as amenities and available healthcare are concerned?

      He didn’t even mention our hospital. I believe it’s part of Community out of Indy. Was Franklin’s but bought out. Still has amazing doctors and should still be a top hospital.

      The hospital is called Johnson Memorial Hospital. It used to be called Johnson County Hospital as Franklin is the seat of Johnson County, but the name changed a few years ago.

      the Healthcare all around the Indy Metro is really good because of all the universities in Indiana it is a great place to retire. Just investigate the local hospitals in the towns that your interested in.

    😊it would be nice if you got into the family friendly atmosphere of Franklin. The all American city in 1938 is still a stressless, leisurely and healthy lifestyle community. I never noticed how much you show other communities while promoting another community. Feel a bias, I never felt from your videos before.

    • @LivingInIndianapolis
      @LivingInIndianapolis  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The bias certainly isn't there. It's sometimes hard to show a town or city without making some comparisons. I'm a huge fan of Franklin! It won't be the last video about it.

      Yes, half of the towns water will literally give you cancer. It's been covered up repeatedly, but all the long time residence know not to drink the water unfiltered.

    Looks nice, like the liberal arts town vibe. Hoping for education means less bigotry and evolution hopefully, there? All the Indy images though…it’s Franklin centered.
