  • Franklin, Indiana is a fascinating small town just south of Indianapolis. It's not only beautiful and well-preserved, the place is full of cool vibes, personality and charm. With a revitalized town square and the gorgeous Johnson County Courthouse as its center piece, Franklin is a must-see small-town. Enjoy Part 1 of Franklin, Indiana!

I moved here in 2012 to get away from the dump Indianapolis has turn into. Small town living at it's best as far as I'm concerned. Prices are a bit high here for rent and buying which seems to be the norm for small towns that are desirable. The one thing I have noticed is gas is cheaper here than most of the towns around us!!!! Franklin has friendly people, crime is low, can be boring at times but that's the life of a small town.

Thanks for your feedback Mark. I love Franklin...and I'm completely fine with "boring" ... beats the hell out of the out-of-control big cities. HMM

I live in California, but I spent all of my summers in Franklin visiting family and friends. It has changed a lot since those days back in the 70s and 80s... tons of wonderful memories.

I loved my time in Franklin; the memories of those early days I will cherish forever. We were there three months of every year when I was young.

Great video. I know you’ve done some videos of Indiana dirt racers. Mayor Steve Barnett was a great dirt late model racer. He retired when he became mayor. He and CJ Rayburn are great friends and used to eat lunch together every day. A video on Steve’s racing career would make a great video. At one time he maintained all of Tony Stewart’s dirt late model equipment. Keep up the great work!

My hometown. It's always been a really great place since the 70s. Changed alot since then. Much more crowded now. We used to look across the street from the old highschool and see nothing but corn

I suppose 'change' is the one thing we can count on. Pretty little town there in Franklin, but I can see why you'd miss the cornfields. Thanks Doug; I appreciate you.

My focus is on what's good about small town America. Every town has its problems/issues, but I choose to focus on the good. I figure if you need bad news, the evening news has us all covered. Thanks for watching...
