What’s amazing to me is that I did a cheap rebuild on a 390 in my parents garage in about 1985 when I was a dumb kid and pretty much didn’t do anything but bolt it all together and it worked. It’s better to be lucky than good!
Hi Brent, I really love your videos. I was wondering if you have a video showing how you install the rear main seal using the silicone for the sides seals and also what type and brand of silicone you are using. Thank you
Great stuff Brent, I watch every video you release. :) Interesting about those oil rails. I recently filed the gaps on the Mahle rings you sent me and the oil rails I have do the same thing as what you show here. They just fall through the bore. I assume I should not use those loose fitting oil rails and get some replacement oil rails from Mahle?
What oil viscosity do you recommend for a daily driven FE with .0024" rod, .0026" main and .003" piston to wall clearance? I specced it with my machinist to use 15w40 and have been having really good results with it but it's driven in the winter a lot and lots of cold starts. Oil pressure outstanding, even after running down the highway in the summer heat its still 20 PSI at a hot idle at 700 RPM at the very lowest, any more RPM than that and it climbs a lot. Would 10w30 be alright to use with those clearance specs or should I just keep on using what's working?
what about the short stroke 332 FE is it a viable candidate ? Had 58 Fairlane 500 2dr 3 in tree OD seemed awful quick back in the day. badged Police Interceptor
I see you using Maxima assembly lube, do you use their oil also ? I do and have had great success with it for many years in the motorcycle industry. When they come out with Automotive specific oil a few years back I started using it in my own and all my clients engines. I sure wish I knew what was going on with Trickflow.
I do not. I only use assembly lube until I can prime the oil pump, so I don't really care what assembly lube it is. I pick the Maxima because it smells like cinnamon. As for what's going on with Trick Flow, what do you mean? I have heads in stock.
Nice to see a professional at work!
I love you videos. So much knowledge to take in. Thanks so much for sharing

I enjoy watching your videos on the FE engines

Great info and it's looking good. Thanks for the share! Hope the weather goes over quickly.
We've always ran Total Seal rings, always great stuff.

I have a 408 build but will take any Ford content you make. Definitely looking at getting a custom roller cam from you.
Hope there's no weather issues for you. At 5pm est we've had plenty of rain here in Columbus, I'm sure there is or will be so localized flooding.

Hi Brent, you mentioned dynamic compression ratio, What sort of number are you looking for to run on pump gas? Cheers, Dave

When was the last time you had an fe with modern pistons that had piston to valve clearance issues ?
👍
What color or part number is that Blue engine enamel?
Where do you source your valley vents ?

Wrong size maybe 🤔 😕 😏
What does the expander do to your oil wiper rings again?
