Some people complain about how long it takes an engine BUILDER (not an assembler) to complete a job.
You can see why in Brent's videos:
    - Meticulous attention to all the little details.
    - Double checking everything.
    - Waiting on parts
    - Finding and fixing manufacturer's defects
Plus the really good engine builders have a lonnng queue of customers who KNOW the quality work that is done and are willing to wait for it.

I recently started to watch your build Videos. By far the best FE videos. Beyond the content and technical tips, the concise way you edit and deliver content is what is compelling me to watch more. Too many repeat themselves and all talk no action. I’m going to take it in. Keep it up.

Love your videos Brent. With all the knowledge I am getting from you, makes me want to build my 427 that my dad had running back in the late 60s.

D4TE is a 1974 block. What year block is more durable? My 385/460 blocks D0VE (1970) and D1VE (1971) were miles apart.

Love your videos I have a question I have a 352 what is the largest displacement you can get out of it safely?

Bore it to a 390 size piston then add a 428 crank. This will give you 410 cubic inches. Mercury used this size FE in 1966 and 67.

1mm/1mm/2mm. Mahle. I use Valvoline VR1 on roller engines.

I typically change the distributor gear to Bronze. Can you comment on why you use the steel gear over the bronze?

    • @lykinsmotorsports
      @lykinsmotorsports  ปีที่แล้ว

Bronze simply just doesn't last long. It's best to match the materials of the cam and distributor gear. If it's a steel cam, it gets a steel gear.

@@lykinsmotorsports I will check with my supplier in my 486 FE. It’s a Bill Stroppe designed solid roller cam with significant lift and duration, that I am really happy with.

Love your video’s and just found that you did a 352, and an FE with a flat plane crank. Those are both projects I have pondered and am thrilled to watch those soon.

Why do you not like the red cap?

Haha, I hate them too. Just don’t like that Red on a Ford Blue block. Yuck
