Enjoy this video, I love the gorse scent and the colour of gold! Didn't relise it had nutrition value! It is used in flower medicine to combat depression symptoms so double bonus for this hard time of the year! Will try this recipe thanks guys 🙂
Wow looks amazing. Love the smell. Of goarse when put and about walking in spring and summer. When I was a child we used to chuck each other into goarse bushes! Def going to get the boys out this weekend to try to make some!
Wonderful video guys!!! Love the way you both share your wisdom and knowledge.. forever learning.. forever growing.. Gorse Cordial .. One now for the pantry.. thank you!!!
You don't want the seeds of it doesn't grow local friend. Benefits aside. The plant itself is one of the hardiest on earth. Once it puts roots down, it'll survive, even if you don't want it. Can't burn it out, can't pull it out, the seeds can stay dormant for up to 30 years and they spread via heat. So even burning it only makes it worse. Again not to rag on the negatives it's a great plant for nature but it'll easily disrupt an eco system that isn't ready for it. Think tumble weeds after they made it to America in flaxon shipments.
Today we saw gorse flowers!!! I should have smelled them - i hadnt watched your vid before hand - just remembered seeing your cover photo! So we picked them and now i need to make this! Thank you for inspiring us! 🙏 it should also come with a warning - the spikes are lethal 🤣
Another great vid chaps.😍 The recipe looks to be really simple. I know where there are some Gorse bushes on one of my detecting permissions, but my recipe will contain alcohol.🙃 Thanks you for taking the time to show us all. John.
Hiya Jack, thanks so much for your feedback and watching our videos. We agree and have been discussing switching out the sugar for a healthier alternative. However we do want our Recipies to be easy and acessable to all and sugar is a simple ingredient to get a hold off. I've recently started experimenting with Zylotol, a natural sweetner made from birch and beech wood. It's such a revaltion and hopefully an ingredient we will be adding in the future. Have a great day ✌️❤️
@@homeiswhereourheartis I would recommend erythritol as a alternative to xylitol, it doesn't cause the same gastric issues that some people experience with xylitol. It a good one to use in place of sugar in cooking etc. Otherwise I learn towards my pure stevia liquid for tea. I've heard good things about monk fruit too but haven't had the chance to try it yet :) - Love the videos x

I've been looking for seeds for this plant ever since your first video introducing the plant. 😊 Good video. Keep'em coming!

Fabulous video guys ❤
Could you do maybe some healthy biscuits or cakes made with foraged food, would love that! Blessings.
We'll definitely makes some 😁
Hi I always enjoy your vids this one included but you really need to skip the white sugar and promote an alternative - e.g.. Forest honey? 😀

We'll have a look into those thank you for your input we really appreciate you taking the time to share it with us 😁
Thank you very much for sharing this. Is the scent of the gorse flowers kept in any way in the cordial?
Yes 😁
I'm jealous! I don't think we have horse here in the US. 🙁
Auto correct gorse!
Autocorrect causes me endless problems 🤣
Try it with golden rod or clover!
Could you freeze it ? Maybe in ice cube trays ? Then just use as and when ?
Yes 🙂
@@homeiswhereourheartis have it simmering away now
You guys should sell some seeds because I would love to grow a bush in my yard 😊
Gorse is really invasive and not really a bush you'd want in your 'yard' 😬
Can u freeze it?
I assume so 🙂
what did you dilute it with ?
Fizzy water but you can use anything really 🙂
Hi ,I'm definitely going to make this cordial, can the sugar be changed to sweetener?
If so how much please?
Love you both xx
Yes xiltol works well, you can add it to taste start with a quarter of a cup stir it in have a taste see if it needs more 😁
A really great tutorial! Could you use honey as opposed to sugar?
Yes you can switch the sugar for honey 🙂
Why did you water it down?
Too strong flavour otherwise ✌️
Could raw brown sugar or honey be used instead of regular sugar? Would it still last a month doing it with the substitutes?
Yes you can switch the sugar for honey it will last just as long 🙂
Where? What zone? Is this native?
👍👍👍👍👍🔔🌹❤️
Could you please collect some of the seed pods and send them to me please and thank you?
Check on Etsy, that’s where I found mine
You measure in cups? Are youy british or american? We need to take are cuntry back!
I am of course joking when i say are cuntry.
