Quick tip for anybody who's interested: if you soak these briefly in water and then scrub them gently with fine steel wool, they come very clean - almost white.
I loved this video 🙌🏽 The sweet aroma of the dandelion root is untouchable, but that looked a little too watery for me personally given I like mine extremely dark and rich. Seemed more like tea. I roast mine till it’s a darker color but not burnt and then I blend it in a coffee blender so it looks like cocoa powder. I’ll add a whole tablespoon to a French press and let it sit for 4 to 10 minutes with a cup of water then it’s extremely rich and dark. If you like a creamy milk substitute, I usually add hemp milk or oat milk with just a bit of honey. It’s absolutely amazing
I have so many dandelions in my lawn I actually encourage them... neighbours keep suggesting how to get rid of them, lol, shriek... no way... they are such a useful plant. Don't care what the neighbours think . Cheers. 😁🦘🐾🐨
It's about time this amazing plant was recognized for the super-food that it really is! I've been drinking this "coffee" for years and really enjoy it. With frothed milk, it makes a really convincing latte. I've recently started adding turmeric, which works well and adds even more nutritional value. I like that you say 160 to 180, because many people just give the hotter temperature, which doesn't work for me. I find that about 325 F works best for me, which falls at the lower range of your temps. When I get too hot it burns too quickly and I have to shuffle it around every 3-5 minutes to make sure it's not smoking up the oven. Nicely done! 🙂
You are the absolute sweetest - its such a joy to watch your videos, like listening to a humble friend (as well as learn SO much)! Subscribed, thank you! 💚
I can see that the dog is spoiled, he was loving every bit of it! I’ve heard of Chivory however never heard of dandelion coffee. I’m about to try it now because I have plenty of dandelion root & flowers.
Thanks guys, I can't tell you how grateful I am to see this process, my great grandma used to make nettle tea and dandelion root coffee, and I never knew how to do it until now. So grateful for stumbling across your channel. I am going to try the dandelion honey too. I have some rosehips so I'm going to make the syrup tomorrow. I used them before to make a great winter drink for helping with colds and flu symptoms and my husband loved it.
Awesome guys....you are right that dirt is good for you....that’s where that B12 is hiding hahaha We drink dandelion tea and love chicory root coffee too!!!! 🌱💪🌎❤️👍
Of course I want to do it now in May!!’ But guess I’ll have to be patient. I have an aneurysm in my Brian which had been embolised after a bleed so can’t have stimulants like caffeine! Can’t wait to try it.
Hello my friend. I would like to thank you. I wasn't awere of the purple dead Nettel .found yesterday. I'm collecting medicines. Thanks 4 your videos 💙💙💙
Enjoy that coffee!! Looks delicious! I will look for some dandylion around here! Hopefully I found some to try this! Thank you for the idea, and for sharing!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I very much enjoyed this video, but I did also strongly desire to pretend to be worried about the fact that I didn't have a heart-shaped pan, and ask whether or not the dandelion root would roast nicely in a rectangular pan. 😉
Thanks for sharing. I have been looking for a coffee alternative. Have you tried whizzing the root in a food processor before roasting, to save on the chopping? Or does it burn if it's chopped too finely?
I definitely want to try making this at some point this year! I'm not a coffee drinker because coffee triggers my IBS like nothing else!! 😬 Since it doesn't have caffeine, I presume you don't get the energy boost you get with caffeinated coffee? Just asking because my boyfriend is a coffee nut and needs it to get through a work day. It'd be great if there was a healthy alternative I could make for him that also helps with energy levels. Thanks again for another fantastic vid!
Hi yes dandelion root is completely caffeine free I don't drink caffeine either it tasts really similar too. As for natural energy drinks there are some ill make some videos all about them soon ✌️
I drink instant dandelion tea/ coffee that is manufactured in Scotland and it’s terrific. 0:35 is the grass stem touching your cap a rats tail grass ? I’m wondering how can we utilise this anti grazing grass as I have it in my pasture and it’s driving me crazy trying to get rid of it. I dig it out as opposed to poisoning it. But it’s a massive job. Is it useful in anyway ? It’s imported not native and it takes over the pasture in a very short time. Any helpful knowledge anyone ? Please.
Is there a time og year where the roots are sweeter? Late Spring, I picked some roots, washed them, and left them to dry for 3 days. Roasted them on the hob for around 10 minutes. They were so bitter. What doled I do wrong?
Yumyum i need to get some more of this before its hiding under snow Blowing some seeds your way ;) Much love xoxox i heard theres a native one here in Canada and the alien one
Is it better to use smaller roots? Or does it not matter? It seems like my bigger ones are 'woody' in the center. Or maybe it was because I was digging some that went to see already...
The human race still has so much to learn 😁 I think going back to seasonal eating is a major part of how we can make life greener and more sustainable. Plus it brings back that excitement of when things like strawberries are ready 😁
Literary making it rn and learning about daisy's and cowslips as today I will go and pick some. Over here we have an abundance of cowslip!! Very lucky indeed. Thank you for your chanel 🤍🤍🤍

Hi 😁
Yes we're going to share how to makes some oils soon. Have a great day too 💚
@@homeiswhereourheartis Oohh, sounds lovely. Looking forward it. ♥️
Hello, just a question. After roasting them could you just nibble on them? or are they only good for making the drink.
You could but not sure if they'll taste so good 🤣 might try one ourselves to see
I think the water infusion draws out the goodies
We spend millions trying to get rid of them
Then millions on coffee that rotts out our bellies
We are a silly bunch sometimes

Yes 🙂
Hello 👋 friends 🌺
Can I chop up in a food processor instead?
Yes 🙂
I'm assuming you are cooking at celsius which would be about 350 ° F but don't want to assume and have burnt coffee ☕ 😊.
Yes 😁
