    One of the creators of the show has a theory that the reason the boys weren't named Jet, Turbo, and Rebel is that a series of accidents occurred and the nurse at the hospital mistakenly thought Donald was naming the triplets Huey, Dewey, and Louie when in fact he was yelling "PHOOEY! Donald has always loved his nephews and saw them as his sons. This series was the first time they really put a lot of emphasis on it. Even though he may not show it that much I even felt Scrooge saw Donald and Della as a son and daughter since it seems like he raised them for a long time. This is assuming that Quackmore and Hortense died when Donald and Della were kids.

    What Ever Happened To Donald Duck is one of my favorite episodes and always will be. He didn't want his anger issues affecting the boy's negatively, to the point that he was willing to spend money on therapy to ensure that would never happen. I've never really seen a kids cartoon portray that before in a father figure character. Not only that, but he also suddenly became a single father to triplets after losing his sister, and yet he still did everything in his power to provide and look after them the best he could. Della might be their biological mom, but they're Donald's sons.

    I honestly was never a huge fan of Donald Duck. He had some funny moments, but I didn’t find him to be too pleasant with how he’s almost always angry. However, I LOVE the way he’s portrayed in the Ducktales reboot! I love how much emphasis is put into him being a good uncle/father figure, and he’s had some adorkable moments. Like, showing pictures of his nephews was so cute! I especially love him channeling his anger toward protecting his loved ones. I have more respect for this character now thanks to the reboot.

      I kinda see it as a child who was raised by their mother but always asked about their dad and wanted to meet him, which led to her calling him uncle scrooge at the end.
      I'm not going to act like "they always had a deep connection deep down" because realistically, webby just found him an interesting person and scrooge liked having her around as a skillful cheerleader (let's be honest) but their relationship did grow to a level of trust that was special, i always made a joke that out of all the kids, webby was scrooge's favorite, which wasn't even funny because of the ending

      It would be cool if there was a crossover in Donald and Goofy interacting with each other when the triplets are toddlers and Max is probably 10 or 11. I assume Max is like 6-8 years older years older than Huey, Dewey and Louie. Maybe Goofy helps Donald in giving him tips in raising a child as a single parent.
      In my honest opinion, the older you get, A Goofy Movie just gets better. That film ages like wine. It displays Goofy as more than your comic relief character and how he is trying to come to terms with Max growing up and wanting more independence. And Max understands that he doesn’t need to lie to his father about what he wants and his father will always be a part of his life no matter how old he is.

    As someone who had an absent birth father in their early life, I agree with this, I never consider my dad to be my step dad, sometimes I’ll say he’s technically my adoptive father, but I never say he’s technically my step father, he’s my father through and through, he raised me, supported me, and is still helping to make me into the man I am now, I don’t always see eye to eye with him sometimes, but I know his heart is in the right place, he wants the best for me, and I appreciate him for everything he’s done in my life

    Everyone keeps saying that they want DuckTales to continue in some way; Season 4, spinoffs Darkwing Duck, etc. I personally want to see a prequel TV series focusing on Huey, Dewey, Louie and Donald's lives before they moved into McDuck Manor. They're my 4 favorite characters in the reboot and I feel like there's a lot that can be explored through their relationships in a more grounded setting despite the lack of adventuring.

      I agree w this & the other comment, but I also wouldn't mind a sequel that goes into the future as Donald and Daisy have their own kid(s) and they have their adventures with their older cousins.
      As far as this continuity goes, I'm glad it ended where it did, leaving fans wanting more. If we get a one off movie, I'd be down for it. I do think there's at least room for that, especially when the original series had a movie that hot a theatrical release. I mean, Disney+ is right there 🤷‍♀️

    I agree with you. Honestly.....I think we would just be disappointed and mad if anybody BUT Donald was the boys' father now. And to me, it almost seems like there's a REASON that the father's face is always covered up in the family tree. Almost like he was an old boyfriend and things went badly between him and Della and she scribbled over his face with a marker like a teenager does when she breaks up with her boyfriend to literally erase him from the picture and forget about him. I LOVED what they did in the new series in introducing Della as their mother. I really liked her character and I respected her determination to get back to her sons after being trapped on the moon. She was beautiful and brave and badass and she clearly loved her children and her family. But for all intents and purposes, Donald IS the boys' father. He loves them. He has protected them. He has raised them up since they were eggs, according to the photos. He was the one who sang them to sleep at night. He was the one who taught them all the things that a father teaches his sons. He's the one who is always there (along with Scrooge and Della) to get the children out of trouble. He may be a bit overly protective and temperamental, but he would do anything for the boys. And another thing....when Della came back, and she was told they were named "Huey, Dewey and Louie", she got mad and said they were SUPPOSED to be named "Jet, Turbo and Rebel" and that she TOLD DONALD that's what the names were and even wrote the names down in case no one understood him. Wouldn't she have told their FATHER that information if she wasn't back from the moon.....if there was a father still in the picture? Wouldn't that be something a FATHER would do, rather than an UNCLE? Naming the children? So to me, that's a hint that maybe she entrusted her sons to Donald, knowing that he would love them and take care of them as their father if anything happened to her on her adventure. In my humble opinion, DNA makes you a father......but LOVE makes you a Daddy. Donald is DEFINITELY the Daddy in my book.

    I couldn't agree more. Donald Duck has been a wonderful father figure to his nephews. And the show ends with him taking in May and June to be his new daughters. If they ever did a movie like between the Last Adventure and before Donald and Daisy go out on their big worldwide excursion. The film could close out with the triplets admitting to Donald that they never asked about their biological father cause they always saw him as that person. “You’re more than our uncle to us, you’ve become our father and that will never change.” Donald would do choke up if he heard those comments. All he ever wanted was to be a good parent to his boys.

    A little more thought... being an uncle and dad are very blurred with Scrooge and Donald. You could see a lot of a father-daughter bond when Scrooge was welcoming Della back home after she showed up back from the moon.
    Can you picture when the triplets grow up and at least of them gets married and starts having kids? I can't help but think the young uncles will be frequent visitors. Plus the older ones will definitely want to meet the new babies as they come.

    I always felt like the big message throughout the Ducktales reboot was that family isn’t always the ones you’re biologically related but the ones that are the most committed and love you every day. I wonder that if Quackmore and Hortense are dead and if so died when Donald and Della were kids since if you go by the comics it doesn’t seem like they were raised by their parents. It’s possible Scrooge looked after them as they grew up and even saw Donald and Della as like his own son and daughter before Webby was cloned. Likely one reason he went out of his way to find Della because he wanted his surrogate daughter back and more or so to do it for Donald to bring back his sister. Once Bradford and his other board of directors pulled the plug on the search parties that’s when Scrooge turned into a miser for 10 years.

    I think that the fact that Della never mentioned a partner or cared about a left behind past love, I sort of think she just intentionally became a single parent via a donor so she could have children and they would carry on the genetic family line. I think that it sort of reflects in that the triplets always knew they had a mom, that she was missing but she existed... yet we never hear or learn anything about their father almost like he was not a real part of the family. I also think it might be the case since Sam King seemed to want Penumbra and Della to become a couple and she drew pictures of Della with the LGBT flag.

    • @Christopher_Woods
      @Christopher_Woods 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I had this idea and wished they used it in the series’s that the triplets father was a worker for FOWL. Della didn’t find out until she was pregnant with Huey, Dewey and Louie. Once that happened she had the motivation to raise her kids as a single mother. Since FOWL knew she had the motivation to go to space that set up the idea for them to send the note to Della about the Spear of Selene and once she’s gone they can capture the eggs and the boys to be raised by FOWL. But before could be done Donald already took the eggs. Donald is likely the strongest fighter of the three so they had to wait for the right moment to strike. Too bad that didn’t work cause I think that really could’ve emphasized more on how Donald was the true father of Huey, Dewey and Louie. And putting more emphasis on the quote. “He may have been your father, but he wasn’t your daddy”.
