I can’t trust anyone who doesn’t cry during this movie
Thank you for commenting. I guess movies affect people in different ways. The boys from Dumb and Dumber cry heavily during commercials. lol
The entire first story should be a test sequence is a sociopath test. It's impossible not to feel your heart get ripped out of there isn't something wrong with you 🤣.
@@steven95NThat's not a very nice thing to think about, actually. Some people with disorders have troubles with empathy and sympathy because we aren't born natural empaths, we are taught to be them 😊
@@I_Eat_Lemons And people are allowed to not trust people with a lack of empathy, disorder or not people are allowed to protect themselves however they see fit.
There's a theory going around that Russell is actually supposed to be their kid they never had think about it he's hyperactive he's always talking always talking is never quiet always bounces around to different areas he's always ready for adventure it's always ready to help other people even though it may include on him getting the bag and at times gets on his nerves who does that sound like😊@@ScreenMaureen
(please don't take this the wrong way) watching an older person watch the beginning really hits different. You saying "life really does go fast" means a lot
Awww It's the truth! Thank you for watching! 🤗
@@ScreenMaureen I subscribed because.... I dunno... I cried so much listening to you say that while that scene was playing. Thank you for the lovely contents!
I didn't notice the background room was a green screen/filter and I was like IS SHE REAL LIFE ELLIE??? bc of the furniture and portraits haha
2:13: “I didn’t know this was going to be emotional”
Me: ooooh boy
You would think a movie titled Up would be a little more cheery. lol
I told my dad he’d cry… he didn’t believe me. We watched it and he balled his eyes out with me and my sisters🤷♂️❤️
Aww He believes you now! 🥲 ❤️
The "thanks for the adventure" scene is so underrated, it makes me cry every time.
Me too! 🥲❤️
That makes me cry more than the opening
The opening of this film is renowned, and notorious for getting people to cry.
They succeeded, lol.
@@ScreenMaureen I haven’t cried at many movies in the theater, but this and The Color Purple did it to me. Have you seen it?
I feel like people focus too much on the Opening.
It's refreshing to have an elderly man be a Protagonist.
Carl is still calling Kevin by the name Russel gave her even though he found out Bird is a Female ♀️
It's sweet and cool proving that Names really have No Gender.
@@KyleEvra - I feel people focus appropriately on the opening. It gives the story of the elderly man its soul.
The speed at which I burst into tears at "Thanks for the adventure" was insane. I didn't appreciate this movie as a kid but watching in my late 20s is so much.
This lady has the sweetest heart 💕💕
Thank you so much! 😊
That was the purest reaction I’ve ever seen at 3:38 when it transitions to the funeral
she experienced pain in her like i can fell it in her reacton to that scene
@@TIAMATRIA So authentic! This movie is amazing.
The first time I saw this film was in the cinema at a very delicate moment. My mother took me and my younger brother. My grandmother, her mother, had already died. My grandmother and I were friends, we talked about many things in life, I slept next to her, the room where she and I slept together and the room where she died is now an office where I work with my mother. Think of a person who cried a lot in the first scenes, in the cinema, my mother hugged me, as I write this I'm crying, it's very vivid for me. My grandmother was one of my best friends in life, I will cherish her memories as long as I live, until the day I leave this earth
I think when Russel first met Carl, the reason why he kept starting over was because in scouts he was probably taught that elderly people can have Alzheimer's. So he wasn't being "stupid"
@@RandySanderszt nobody did, but it seems at first that he's "stupid" by him repeating it
I just assumed he was instructed to read the script. So he has to start at the top because he's following instructions.
🎈🏠The message of the film is that the real adventure of life is the relationship we have with other people that are around us until they are gone. Love well and enjoy everyday.💟
Great message! I like how Russell says that he remembers the boring stuff. The simple moments in life are truly special.
@@ScreenMaureen It's true.
This is so true. I lost my dad and grandparents recently. The boring stuff you remember is the best stuff. @@ScreenMaureen
dammn i got so emotional, i was trying to crochet while watching and i cant even see my work bc im always tearing up 😂😭 it was lovely to rewatch this with youu!!
Aww Thank you! I'm a knitter myself so I know exactly how hard it is to crochet/knit while watching something emotional too! 🤗❤️
“ Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans.” - John Lennon.
Love your background for this reaction. I thought it was real at first! lol
Great quote! I would love if it was real. lol Seems cozy :)
My mom’s favorite quote
Up won an oscar for best animated film. By the way the paradise falls is based on angel falls (Salto Ángel) one of the greatest waterfalls in the world located in Canaima National Park in Bolivar state in Venezuela. Thank you great reaction awesome😊😊😊
Thank you Pedro! I am going to look up paradise falls now!
@@ScreenMaureen Yes the real paradise falls. Angel Falls in spanish El Salto Ángel
For me, the scene when Carl opens and reads Ellies adventure book is even more poignant than the married life scene at the beginning, and that's really saying something. He realises that all the things he thought she wanted to do; visiting far away places and seeking adventure had all been fulfilled in the quiet life they had spent together. The adventure never was far away, but at home with him. It's such a powerful, beautiful message.
You gave the best reaction of this beautiful movie 🥺
Thank you for watching with me! 🤗
I don't know how I don't know who but I'm so glad I stumbled upon your TH-cam channel because this is the cutest thing I've ever seen and I love it
You are such a sweet lady. I love your movie reactions so much! Please do more🥰
Thank you so much for watching and the kind comment! I'm working on one now :)
@@ScreenMaureen Yes please keep them coming! I enjoyed your commentary and genuine reaction! Looking forward for more!
TH-cam is odd... I was randomly given this video. Even thought I wasn't looking for reactions. I got curious and watched it. I found that your reaction was very wholesome and genuine. Subscribed.
I watched this movie when I was 4 when it first came out in cinema. I can’t get over how fast times gone. It’s a sad movie, but I’ll never stop watching it.
The movie shows that time goes by so fast. What makes this movie what it is, is everyone is going to grow older, life catches up with everyone long term. Ellie might have never got to the falls, but she lived a good life with the man of her dreams.
Your emotions really show in this reaction. I’m 18, but maybe you know how this feels because you’ve lived longer then most of us watching this video.
No movie has ever made me cry as much as this one. Not even 10 minutes in and I’m already tearing, that shows you have the audience hooked.
I’m glad people are revisiting the moment ❤️
You seem very enlightened for only being 18! Life does go by amazingly quick and even though I'm nearing 60 I still feel like I'm in my 20's. lol
probably the most wholesome reaction ive ever seen
Thank you! 🤗
The opening to Up is a test of humanity. Ever want to find out if your friends are a soulless demon or extraterrestrial space lizard? Show them the opening and if they don't cry then they're not human.
Well call me, my family and friends soulless demons or e.t space lizards then because I’ve never seen one of us cry at this film lol it is a favourite though top 10-15 easy
That's not fair.
This is the reaction ive been searching for, insightful, wise, and human. You brought a genuine levity that so many reactors aren't experienced enough to convey, to that i say thank you. Youre a true gem.
Thank you for the lovely compliments! I really loved the message in this movie, enjoy every moment! 🤗❤️
@@ScreenMaureen diddo 🤗
Watching this with you was like watching it for the first time all over again, such a beautiful movie!
I admit I cried several times throughout the movie... what a delightful movie this was... I love watching reactions to it. Good luck with your channel!
Thank you!
Never watch a Pixar movie and think it's not gonna be emotional 🤣
Noted 😂
I loved watching this reaction! You were so real and honest. This movie already hit me as a child, but even moreso once I grew up cause you truly realise how fast time goes, but in the end the time you spend with your loved ones are the real adventures you made along the way!
So true! 🤗
Up is one of those movies that is a benchmark for how quickly a movie can break an audience's heart. It is such an amazing, beautiful movie that shows the value of hope and... not giving up in the face of pain and loss. And, heck, I've recently lost my marriage in all but legal status, myself. My wife and I weren't the match for each other that we thought we were, and... it has caused quite a lot of heartache for both of us. But, since we have agreed to be roommates until our daughter graduates High School (another three years or so), I've been able to enjoy my own adventures again, which is... really lovely. I've missed them so much as we've struggled through things.
One of my favorite movies. The first part made me cry too but what really gets me every time is the scene where Carl is sitting in the house and realizes his wife thought her life with him was adventure enough. The pain and regret when he starts to open the book and the happiness at the end is so deep.
Oh no. I've never seen the whole movie, just watching this reaction made me cry, Jesus.
Well, I haven't seen your channel before. I've seen other reactions to Up, but you're the first one near Carl's generation, so it was interesting to see that perspective. 😊
I agree about the music. I'd already noticed Michael Giacchino's music for the very strange TV series Lost, but it was his work for Pixar that made me see him as one of the really great composers.
It seems less is more when it comes to music affecting emotions. It's amazing how perspective on age changes as you grow older in years. I don't feel as old as I am or any wiser. lol
Up is most certainly one of if not my favorite film Pixar has ever created and It warms my heart to see you react to this. If you get a chance I do hope you give Wall-E a watch too. Both Wall-E and Up are about Love and if you loved Up, You will most certainly love Wall-E. Take care and I hope to see more of your amazing reactions!
Thank you for understanding that Russell’s parents are divorced. Most of the movie reactions or a few of them that I’ve watched a lot of people didn’t get that his parents are divorced. The movie reactions that I watch seem to get confused on who Phyllis is
It's been so long since I watched it, I am like ugly crying right now, such a beautiful movie
2:00
I watched this as a kid and was like “No way they just put that in a kid movie.” That scene broke me.
Girl… I had to skip the first part of the video. I ain’t trying to cry right before I gotta go to church 😅
When I would watch this movie as a kid, I knew it was sad but I would never really cry, but now watching it it hits SUPER hard and close to home. 1, because I’m older and understand things more. And 2, because I just lost my grandpa in November, so it REALLY pulls at my heart strings 😭❤️
lol, I hear ya. Sorry about your grandpa. 🤗
What a beautiful response. It gives me a whole new perspective when an older person watches it. You have such joy in your heart... And I can really feel it.
Good reaction! This movie always makes me cry, its so heartbreaking but at the same time so breathtaking and sweet, with such great messages, the thing that always gets me is the ''Thanks for the adventure now go have a new one!'' And the ellie badge at the end for Russell, building even more their relationship, just perfect overall
oh your voice is very lovely 😭really enjoyed watching you, thanks for the reaction!
This reaction was so special. Sending you love.
When I watched this movie for the first time as a kid I cried so hard at the beginning I made my mom turn the movie off. Couldn’t watch it til years later, and even though it’s one of my favorite animated films, the beginning never fails to make me cry. Great reaction ❤️
8:00
I’m rewatching this with you now. And I’m now in tears cuz of this scene. 😢 It’s so sweet that someone can love you so much after death.
the flat mountains are in Venezuela actually. the longest waterfall in the world is there.
I love ur reaction ❤.... U've such a calming & lovable personality. All d best. ❤
Thanks Urmi!
i just stumbled your account, while i love watching this type of video, somehow you made it better🫶🏻 subscribed!
I LOVE your tittles!!❤️❤️❤️ you have a new subscriber FOR SURE.
My best wishes to you
I'm a new subscriber to your channel. I really liked your reaction to this movie and when you got emotional, I to got emotional again even tho I have seen this movie a thousand times and still get emotional. Keep up the good work...
Some day I will have to write a story about an elderly person going on a great adventure purely because of the good vibes Up showed that can produce. That life can be an adventure even way past your prime.
This is the second reaction to a movie I see from you. I love your reactions because they are sincere, from the heart. I will definitely subscribe to your channel. Thank you for being who you are.
Thank you and welcome to the channel! 🤗
I really enjoyed your reaction. Ed Asner is so wonderful as Carl Fredrickson.
"You in the suit!, Take a bath hippie" 😂😂🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for this reaction, made my evening
Cute grandma, grandma cute ❤️
It was just 30 minutes, somehow it got me crying. Damn it
I had to pause this movie in the beginning because it made me cry so much I couldnt bear to watch it without a pause 😂 Loved your reaction! ♥
I know, right? Thank you for watching and crying with me AdaKitten! ❤️🤗
Michael Giacchino is a musical villain who has no right being that good at using music to break me.
Pixar peaked with this one
I'll have to watch the reaction tomorrow - I'm just here for the intro before sleep.
I hope you slept well! :)
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and reaction with us!
Thanks for the beatiful reaction

First time watching you. I just subscribed ❤. I hope you react to other 2D disney and 3d Pixar films. They are lovely and I think you would enjoy reacting to them.
I definitely will, I didn't realize there were so many! Thanks for subbing!
Beautiful commentary!!
Thanks for the reaction! You're very endearing! Subbed!
Thanks!
Omg you made me cry with your reactions 😢
Sorry. lol 🤗
I really like this lady reacting
i was 9 years old when i first saw this but after seing this at the age 20 i cried as i understod certain things i didn't previously.
LOL Russell … tries his hardest
12:55 that wasn’t a dog whistle that was his hearing aid malfunctioning.
I realized that after editing was done. There wasn't a dog whistle it was his hearing aid scaring the dogs. :)
@@ScreenMaureen 👍
"Up": An animated feature with the saddest first quarter, followed by soaring into clear, blue sky in the last half.
There are "Carl is dead and Russell is his fulfillment angel taking him into the afterlife" folk, but this is Pixar.
Speaking of a "doing it MY way" TV, take a look at "Firefly" (2002-2003). Browncoats say: "You can't take the sky from me."
Agree 100% Firefly is probably one of my favorite shows.
The Ellie Badge makes me sob
Me too. 😥
OMG, what a very sweet and emotional movie.
Nice characters, story , voices , wow , brilliant.
I couldn't stop crying and I'm a grown man.
Sounds pretty stupid ha ?
Anyway , great review , bye bye !
I'm not eager to be 70 and rewatching this movie to say "This hits hard... Very... Hard..."
Entiendo el ingles, pero no se escribirlo, esta película es hermosa y me encanto ver la película contigo, tienes una energía tan pura y amable, es refrescante.
gracias :)
RIP Ed Asner 🙏 😢
Maureen---i'm looking at the background/ the inside of your house looks like the real life version of the flying house in this movie.
Oops. OK now I see it's a screen shot From the movie.
'Nebber mind.
Lol greenscreen! 😊
A perfect movie. Love it.
Thank you...❤
You are such a sweet lady. I love your genuine reactions. You echoed my sentiments at every turn! 😊
Thank you Dwayne! 🤗
Thanks Maureen.
You’re welcome 😊
While I prefer the first half of the movie to the second, Up is one movie I still watch whenever I see it on TV and enjoy watching reactors react to it, mainly due to the fact Carl is almost a spitting image from his face, same glasses, same hair style, same clothing, same hat, posture and even voice to my Grandfather on my dads side... the only differences was he used an old black wooden cane and wore ties instead of bow ties... funny enough even the last dog (named Goldie) Granddad owned before he died, way back in 2000, was more or less a carbon copy of Doug to boot, just minus the talking collar and squirrel fixation (we don't have squirrels in my country) lol... always a smile seeing the two of 'them' in a movie.
I think he'd have found it a hoot that one day he and Goldie would be accidentally immortalized in a Pixar movie, even if it was by complete random chance.
I guess the second half is more for the younger ones but I understand what you are saying. That is so sweet about your Grandfather.
Wow, idk why but it was really surprising to hear that your country doesn't have squirrels 😂 where I live I see 5+ a day
Also this is like me with how to train your dragon. Stoic resembles my late grandfather and Valka looks ALOT like my grandma (she's even got long brown hair that goes past her butt 😂)
You are so kindred and sweet. Subscribe immediately
I LOVE when movie use actual kids for kid roles, makes it more authentic. Thats if that kid is good of course.
Hello, I saw you in your thumbnail and I got curious: I always wanted to see a mature person's opinion about this movie. Life really do go fast, especially when you are so into the loop of everyday life. If you are interested in movies with good a message and wholesome positivity, may I suggest you to consider reacting to Swiss Army Man? It's a movie about love, shyness, second chances and a... magical cadaver who knows nothing!
Wow, sounds like someone has a case of destination fever. You're worried too much about where you're going.
You got to focus less on the "where" and more on the "going".
- Chong and Lily, Avatar: The Last Airbender
My only gripe with this movie is that Carl is clearly over 70 so there's no way Munz or whatever his name is would still be alive lol
😊
The most honest reaction, following
The theory about the baby is that she paint that they used for the house contained a chemical that was used back then which was dangerous, and that this paint caused Ellie to be infertile/ miscarriage.
20:46 is that the storm trooper death noise?
It's called the Wilhelm scream and has been used in most movies produced in the last century. Once you know that's a thing, trust me you'll hear it everywhere 😂
You should watch grave of the fireflies ,spirited away, my neighbor totoro, ponyo, the wind rises, when marnie was there they each are a masterpiece with beautiful soundtracks
I'll add them to the list! :)
@@ScreenMaureen prepare to cry 😢
The entry scene for me is the most horrific in any movie I have ever seen. That is far worse than Saving Private Ryan for example..because we can all relate....just an eyeblink and we are in the same situation..I remember the first time Ive seen this many years ago and my wife had to help me up because I was on the floor crying
You are sooo sweet ❤ loved it 💞
Thank you!
