I heard Dan Ackroyd had it out for Blobby the entire time they filmed this. Something about not being invited to some guy named Noel's house party. Dan complained to the producers and hired some fake Marshmellow mascot.
We need more Blobby inserts in films! We need him eating spice harvesters in Dune, fighting the Avengers in the MCU and appearing in classic horror like Silence of the Lambs and The Exorcist
I really laughed hard at this. But i think the marshmallow man was a better fit. Some kids were quite scared of blobby, but I've never met a kid scared of the stay puff marshmallow man. So he's a starker contrast as a horror figure. Mr Blobby, however, is a very funny character thats also slightly creepy .
