1. Melmetal is underrated. 2. They need to make it easier/cheaper to get specific cards. Hopefully every card 4 diamond rarity and below will be able to be traded.
I made it to 5 consecutive wins in the emblem event with this list, probably took 4-5 hours of attempts. I lost on four consecutive wins twice before winning the third time. The big 3 (Charizard, Mewtwo, Pikachu) were all difficult matchups, unfavored but winnable. Felt great with options versus anything else and there is plenty of off-meta in the queue. I never did play against Blaine once in alll those matches - I assume that one is near unwinnable.
Wish Gyarados was better. Really hope Houndoom is a playable 'mon when they're released, one of my favorites. Looking forward to more Ghost Pokemon too.
I played this deck and Melmetal’s tankiness is very satisfying. I did find that Greninja’s 20 damage shuriken ability doesn’t get reduced by melmetal’s ability. Do you happen to know why?
While its ability does call out "Attack damage" specifically, I find it a rather unintuitive design for this reason. I would have preferred it to have lower overall health and reduce ALL instances of damage.
@@mbase6469damage buffs/nerfs typically has never applied to bench hits or effects like greninja. It can get pretty bad buffing snipers or making them objectively useless.
@@mbase6469 this has been consistent from the card game and other Pokémon tcg clients since the start. It’s best to remember, only an attack from your Pokémon in the active slot is affected by the opp resist and abilities.
With access to Pidgeot is the 1 of Sab needed? I feel like the break points Gio gives makes me want to run 2 personally but thats my opinion not sure if you ran into this Jeff.
11:34 you were probably just talking and clicking, but I feel like forcing the swap to Blitzle and then killing it has gotta be better than cracking Pikachu EX. Makes the Zebstrika kill lethal on Melmetal, and the 70 chip damage doesn't matter when Melmetal always kills in one hit.
I really hope we get more metal mons bisharp aggro is very mid and melmetal isn't great and mawhile is fun but not great at 20 damage and half a chance to strip an energy
I know this isn't the point of this video, but I do wonder how this game will look like a year from now. I want it to remain new player friendly but how does a game like Pokémon pocket achieve that long term? I don't play a lot of free to play games so I don't really know how to make it work and still make it feel fair to people who have been around for a while.
Surprised you dont get red card in open team sheet. Just about forcing your opponent to give you more info than theyd otherwise have to. Agree its not a very good card tho. Idk when this was recorded but they have confirmed new mini set on the 16th of Dec and Jan 29th is when the next full set releases.
The red card could be a 5th basic in many tourney decks (less now, thankfully, since most non Pikachu players have found out that 5 or 6 basics helps overall deck consistency). It could also be a potion or an x speed, or in some cases a 2nd Sabrina or Giovanni. Its strongest application only mildly forces players to not play around Sabrina preemptively for the late game when running multiple copies of an evolutionary line without their respective stage 1s or 2s in hand. It's also marginally ok at forcing your opponent to think about when not to pot of greed. So you have a card that is best when your opponent is unlucky, potentially helps them draw out of a bad hand, and doesn't save a break point like potion often does, doesn't have the insane tempo that an x speed can bring (often trading straight up for Sabrina), and doesn't do what another Sabrina or Giovanni could do for you.

I hope with the big set we get a playable Noctowl, its probably my favorite Pokemon from Gen 2
Gen2 has so many slick mons
Oh man if it's gen 2... Dark and steel could get so much support. Umbreon, houndoom, skarmory, steelix, Scizor, Jasmine... Possibilities are endless
Steel needs much love
I put almost exactly this deck together on a whim the other day. Feel very big brain right now

I hope the next set brings a Steel type specific supporter to give them a boost. Jasmine maybe?
pidgeot+wheezing+arbok is just a menace
Today I learned about Garbage Time.
Is this the best melmetal deck in your opinion?
It's basically the only one with any tournament results currently.
Big Melmetal fan here. Love this deck

Yeah great art terrible effect hopefully gyarados gets an ex
Still hope for an eventual Gyarados ex I suppose.
Maybe gets a reliable water set upper than it will be much viable!

Reduces atk dmg, NOT abilities or ability dmg.

Was hoping for a Mewtwo battle
How is he playing it on pc??
He’s using an emulator called LDplayer. There’s a video about it on the channel.

Trading will be a key piece. If it falls short getting in late will be really hard.
Repeat after me jeff :
Pidgey, pidgeotto, pidgeot
Pidgey, pidgeotto, pidgeot
Pidgey, pidgeotto, pidgeot
Hope you can remember the order some day
I hope he never learns it, more fun that way
Calling pideot pigeotto just makes it seem like this dude never played a pokemon game

Where was this confirmed? That is just data mined unofficial last I checked.
