This episode was funny, he was offended by Mike buying the second set of wheels then proceeds to add a third wing the car never had! Ha, great work either way!
Glue is meant to provide a permanent bond between to components.. the red stuff on the threads of those screws are called thread lock and is color specific.. red is high torque to re over blue is medium and green is low.. all thread lock is by design meant to hold a srew in place under certain circumstances but can also be removed for repair.
Strip the engine to replace a rear main seal. Couple of self tapper screws and a pair of pliers pull it out then gently tap in the new one.

Engine is darker than gear box oil no?
Well smoked gear box oil get pretty dark. But yes clean gearbox oil is cherry red compared to clean engine oil which is a a light tan.

How to ABSOLUTELY DESICRATE a classic cosworth = add a 3rd rear spoiler and make it look totally ridiculous, has to be the worst the WD has ever done to a beautiful car 👎🏻
The designer of the car actually designed it with a third spoiler, which he explains in the full episode and later on it was proven to add a significant increase in downforce. It is a shame that you did not do your due diligence before commenting.
It's ugly as hell and it blocks the view out the rear window.

This bloke has not got a clue you dont need to strip the engine down to change the rear main oil seal or take it out to find the oil leak doughnut.

This is the one they ruined by adding that stupid bi-wing.
This is the one that they build to the original design, with the extra wing that adds significantly more downforce. Watch the whole episode before commenting in future please.

@@Sonorg1 please understand that that is simply subjective. It may have, in your opinion, negatively affected the aesthetics of the car, but it ultimately improved the downforce and thus the performance of the car. It is merely up to the individual as to which aspect matters more.
@@calibrazxr750 Yeah I get that imho they ruined it. It looked much better before. I love the Escort Cosworth, I remember when they were first introduced I would have been around 16 at the time. Shame I will never be able to afford one. Such an Iconic car! Take care and stay safe :)

The short story regarding the “third wing myth.”
THE MYTH: There never was a third wing. It was never a conception or even considered a design element for the Escort RS Cosworth by Ford or its true designers. This was simply a publicity myth created by someone for a TV show, which then spread to TH-cam videos and interviews. In fact, this myth has been spoken so loudly and widely that it has become a bit of (fake) car design lore. It was claimed that a designer (who never worked on this car at all) designed the car and its mythical third wing. This would’ve given the car more downforce. But it was rejected by Ford because of costs.
THE REALITY: There was never a third wing designed or proposed for this car, for many reasons (Cost not being one of them), which the real designers, John Bull, Ian Callum, John Wheeler & Steven Harper will happily reiterate.
