Best simple video on any COD game with logic that I've seen. Ever since COD4 MW 2007, i learned these tips as i played and always been a 3+ KD player. Edit: Some idiot's just don't understand going from cover to cover and call it camping, no one is gonna be dumb enough to be in the open asking to get shot at. To these player's I'll say, tell the devs to remove buildings etc and have a open area like the valleys outside the city.
I saw a video from some random YTer I don't even remember back from when Ghosts was in cycle where he said "Sprint as little as possible; when you sprint, you can't shoot, so you're easier to kill". I took that to heart and improved a lot. It's different in WW2 because the maps are so small, but there are ways to get around the sprinting issue, like stopping when you're at corners or using Gunslinger (which doesn't work the way I think it should, I still have issues with firing when sprinting). It's tough, because the instinct is to get back in the fight when you're killed, get the Payback medal, go get more kills, play harder, etc, but sometimes slowing down a little can get you big games. Not that I'm in the position to give advice, but I used to be bad and now I'm decent, so that has to count for something, right?
The last tip is very applicable for everyone. No matter how good you think you are you can always improve. As a 2kd+ player I already know all the main tips. But improving on them is where I struggle cause I get so mad lol.
Thanks for the additional advice, Ace. I will say I've taken your advice in your "Aiming Drill" video to heart, and start a custom match with your stated parameters almost every time I begin to play. I will add, I never worry about my K/D. I'm just content at doing my best in a match. I'm happy ending a match at 0.500 K/D, and ecstatic when I get even, or go slightly positive. HA, I love the comment about knowing where your teammates are helps you know where the enemies are. In theory, absolutely. In practice, I'm always with the absolute worst kids ever and constantly get killed from the side/behind where a teammate was just 'covering'.
The end of the video was about saying to not look for scapegoats... "Always focus on the things you have control over and try not to look for a scapegoat to your problems"
I feel like the skill based matchmaking in this game is very obvious. The lobbies I enter are either entirely sweaty (80% of the time) or entirely scrubby (20%). It's rarely ever a mix of good and bad players. I've never noticed this in a cod game before.
Eric Bueno oh for sure, most lobbies I go in one consist of one team with almost a full team of high prestiged players and the other team is players ranked 1-40. This has been happening so often for me and means if you're on the lower team you have no chance
I think it’s skewed towards the better players. This is my first COD so I don’t have a lot of friends to play with, etc. and I frequently get dropped in a crappy team against basically a death squad that actually has a party and plan to attack the map. They should match single players with single players and players with low KDs together.

A tip that helped me (from the MarkOfJ) is to attack from the sides of the map. Once you control the outside part you can dominate the middle and the side you have taken. Now if people stop coming to you cut through the middle carefully and switch sides. Also people tend to come back to kill you so try to move around b/c thet will be prefiring. This helped my KD (0.90 to a 1.67 and improving) and helped my score per min (107 to a 305.) Apply UAV to up your score and help yourself, along with teammates.
basically! avoid midmap! stick to the outsides (so t he wall is to your back; low chance fo being shot at) and use human nature to revenge kill against them and to your favour.

Gustav is one of my favorites, and I don't run snipers. They can be annoying, especially in this game, but if you counter them and have a decent team that will work with you they lose their fear factor.

One thing I've heard you mention in the past is to play to your gun's strengths. I've been more conscious of this lately and it's made a huge difference. After BO3 I had to adjust my play style quite a bit and I'm now starting to see the results. Great video as usual.
For me personally, using Lookout has become so beneficial. My awareness just become much better which improved my performance quite a bit. Despite whatever setup i used, as long as i had lookout, i would still perform quite well.

You just have to camp a lane. NOT corner camp. Head glitch a few kills then move to another all around the edge of the maps. I just go in a big circle and work my way around. Some say its camping I call it CRUSHING!! Half camp half rush. Always go very positive. Love it or hate it it works , people that run around headless feed the beast!
I actually think that this video was spot on with all of the suggestions you gave. These steps are hands down the best to follow for casual players trying to improve.

My K/D has always been terrible. I started following TheXclusiveAce tips and tricks during Infinite Warfare, and went from a 0.59 kd up to a 1.89 kd. Currently sat on WW2 with a 1.04 kd. Best tip i follow; hip fire just before ADS
At this cod game i actually had to relearn everything that made me good in advanced warfare, which was the previous cod game i played and i were really good at rushing fast and just using exo movements all the time to avoid getting shot. I never really played a boots on the ground cod before this, so when i came to both modern warfare remastered and ww2 i was a total noob with 0.40 in KD.. I have now managed to become pretty decent, but im struggling to get my kd beyond 1 because of all the struggle i had beforehand. Now my kd is 0.93 and im in master prestige. Problem beeing that i have 3000 more deaths than kills so this takes forever.
Your last suggestion was the best. Watch the kill cam! When I first started playing Blops 1 I watched every single kill cam to learn what people were doing better than me. I learned the most that way!
Ace will never steer you wrong! His aim assist tutorial has helped tremendously! Ace, you really put out some excellent content. In my opinion, your channel is THE destination for any COD player seeking to improve. I like Driftor's channel too, but I feel that your channel is a notch higher, because you really dissect virtually every component of WWII.
Really enjoy your videos. I’m relatively new to multipIayer comparatively, as I was all about the zombies series (not for ww2 though). I think a good tip is to be proficient in different styles of play and know how and when, to implement them. I disliked playing against snipers, cause I sucked at using the sniper rifles. Same with rushers, campers and the like. So I practiced and suffered lame k/d and spm statistics (it’s still not great) but eventually came around to know not only how to use the weapons adventitiously, but effectively implement the different styles during game play. War mode is a great place to practice using different styles from defense and traps to rush and hold and all in one game. Plus war mode increases spm w/out affecting k/d. I still die a lot in tdm, however now more often than not, I end the game with a positive k/d, 15-30 kills, multiple score streak call-ins (all which helps my team) and a good spm. In this game, sound is HUGE. I find myself stopping for a couple seconds after i get a kill or two, or am regenerating health, just to listen to see if anyone is around me.I decided to upgrade my headset here recently to a "surround sound" one and it is amazing.
To snipers, my best advice would be to not shoot if you’re don’t have the clear shot. Everyone hears sniper fire and knows exactly where it came from usually. Don’t give up your position if you don’t have to. And stay away from your nooby teammates who just like to shoot just for the hell of it. Sometimes they end up getting you killed because they’re so trigger happy.
This is my first cod and I’m new to pc gaming. I destroyed my kdr at first but it’s so hard to come back from but I get consistent 2 kdr in matches but my kd so far gone it’s really hard to get it higher.
Error4-07-99 i had the same thing started with 0.6-0.7 kdr and i had 2000 deaths or something now im at 1.07 kdr it goes slow but that doesnt matter. Also i think with higher kd you get better players as enemys
Harrison Alexander I find myself constantly disappointing myself that I never look at it. One game I'll goeven or a death or two over, realize I never looked at the mini map. Next game I go 6-8 kills over with looking at it, and this is usually in HKC, only hardcore game mode aside from dom i can play without campers
I didn't even really think about strafing side-to-side while shooting at an enemy. Just played my first game while doing that and it definitely helped a lot.

However please when you get the chance please please please look into whats faster, airborne with scoped perk when straifing or infantry IV with scoped perk when straifing. I feel like there is a hidden tip in the discovery of that. My friend and I are gonna run some tests tonight to see but if you did a video it would confirm what we discover...I wanna say airborne with scoped perk even out with infantry IV. But we will see. I'm a bit of a COD veteran nowadays, this is my 6th COD game. I've had a 1.4 KD for the past two years. But in this game I can't get above a 1.0 KD, I do everything "right", I play exactly like I've played in years past (primarily a slow AR player). But my bullets don't register, I barely get double or triple kills, and I've had to camp my ass off just to get the bloodthirstys for Diamond ARs. I'm 4th Prestige, ~100 hours played, and I'm just done with this game. It's so unrewarding no matter what I do I can't go positive. Thanks for the content as always Ace, I guess I'll be back in November for Black Ops 4.
I disagree with what you said about selecting divisions... yes, infantry and airbourne divisions are probably the best in most scenarios; however there are certainly situations where armoured or expeditionary are a great choice. Such as... 1) Armoured is great in hardcore and objective game modes (particularly domination, war and hardpoint). It gives you flak jacket which allows you to use a basic training besides hunker and still get significantly reduced explosive damage. 2) Expeditionary is amazing if you want to play defensively. It allows you to resupply lethal equipment. I always run land mine with this class. The game allows you to keep two land mines active at once, therefor this division is amazing for locking down buildings and/ or control enemy movement. I would also pair this with the gas grenade which allows even more control. I didn’t mention mountain because you already touched on that. Obviously it is great for the sharpshooter ability as well, but i typically run a 4x scope sniper with my expeditionary division, with rifleman and the combat shotgun as my secondary.
My dad has sucked at CoD as a casual player since CoD4. He took a great liking to WWII and wanted me to help him improve at the game. (He holds a 0.7 K/D, I hold a 2.1) My best tip to him was how to use the HUD. I told him to look at it a LOT more, like at least 30% of the time. There is so much knowledge a person can gain from their HUD I also got him a headset for Christmas, and he didn't realize how much valuable audio he was missing (teammate callouts, enemy footsteps, etc.) Get a headset or turn your volume up. Srafe the enemy, don't move towards him Lastly, I showed him how overpowered the marskman basic training is. It is an economy UAV. You can see emenies from across the map and predict where they will be. He's up to a 0.9 K/D and regularly going positive in TDM games.
One of the biggest thing that get me that you didnt mentioned is getting nervous when on a streak. For some reason I get supper nervous when I realize Im doing good, and make stupid mistakes like challenge a quick scoper at close range.
Another good one Ace! I use your Aiming drill regularly over the past few CODs and it helps, no doubt. I only wish I could master "strafing" I just don't get it, when I try the result is I spray bullets all over the room until the other guy kills me... Any tips on this? I agree it is important to evaluate, I think it is equally important to analyze what you did right as well - it sets a positive attitude and helps you repeat that positive behaviour. This will result in move confidence - the old "I can do it attitude". Thanks
I mostly play hardcore mode so using the mini map to know where everyone is positioned is useless unless recon is used. However I feel like the lack of the mini map in HC mode makes you rely more on your instincts which personally for me made me a better player. Everything just feels fluid & I just react on the situation.
Great video. Very helpful. Another basic training that helps your K/D is instincts. It just helps you survive when people see you that you didn't see. Not the best but very helpful sometimes.
My kd is lower this year than the past 2 years but I don't care!lol i dont mean it in a bad way , I don't try as hard now as I used to because it gets too frustrating, I enjoy WW2 and just want to have fun this year. Most if the time I do ok as long as connections are good💪nonetheless another great video dude I always watch because I know I will learn something I didn't know and even though I'm trying not to obsess over my numbers this year I always want to at least improve 🙃
Single BIGGEST tip: try to have your target centered before ADSing. For some reason, when you ADS and then try to lock on, it feels so inconsistent. Also, with the health regen, I like to pretend it’s Halo 3. You have a few seconds of no regeneration then your health slowly goes up. It makes playing aggressively almost impossible.
Hi Ace. Thanks for another great video as always. I do your aiming drill before I play online. Do you have any tips / drills for snapping from target to target other than just play the game? It is easy enough to hit 4 or 5 consecutive shots for 1 bot / person, but if it takes 3 seconds to snap on a target or you miss the first 2 or 3 shots then it all goes to pieces. Keep up the great work.
Great video. My skills are awful but I keep working on good habits vs. my long standing bad habits. KD is awful. Need to play more than 2-4 hours a week.
One think you forgot to mention that I see ALOT of people doing is reloading after every single kill, getting caught reloading can really mess you up, most of the guns in WW2 have a 25+ round magazine which you can easily get 3,4 and even 5+ kills before reloading. By all means when you are safely behind cover reload but when you reload after every kill, like I said you are at a disadvantage. East gunfights when your opponent can't fire back at you because they reload their extended mag STG every kill
A great strategy in my opinion is go with the s mine for lethal. How op was the bouncing Betty in the early BO2 days before people learned how to counter it? The s mine is even harder to see and harder to avoid. Especially with less people running flack jacket (hunker) in this game due to not having 3 perks available for use. I get free kills all the time with them. U don't have to worry about cook time for a frag leaving u defenseless. And it will watch your back when ur in a room and alert u of nearby enemies when it goes off. U cant easily rush in this game the way you could in advanced movement CODs. Getting around the map is hard and will get u picked off, especially by op quick scopers. I find more success in locking down an area of a map and setting down an S mine at one of the entrances or pathways nearby. Not necessarily camping lol but more so map control. That one guy that was about to come from behind u with a bayonet just got taken care of thanks to ur little buddy. And the extra 5 or 6 kills a match will definitely help to keep ur kd up
Big tip: play on a small enough screen. A huge screen sounds cool or whatever, but it is impossible to get good screen awareness while sitting in front of a massive tv
My best advice aside from all these good tips, is not to be overconfident in your ability to come out on top in bad situations. Most of the time when I know I shouldnt try a gunfight and try it anyway, I get smoked. Better to reevaluate, slow down the gameplay, and figure out the best way to win every gunfight even before the enemy knows whats happening
I'll be honest, 99.9% of the time I die, I think it's my fault. Mostly due to accuracy, but sometimes due to some flanking maneuver I hadn't anticipated, or those goddamn S-mines everywhere. However, I always forget the other part: be critical and evaluate how I could have done things better. I really appreciate this video and the reminder. Oh, and the strafing tip. I never considered that.
My KD is 0.92 and I'm proud of it ! It may seem cheesy but the most important stat for me is the enjoyment/annoyment ratio while playing. Have a nice day :)
Thank you for another great video Ace. As for spawns, I cannot tell you how many times I will repeatedly spawn all by myself in the enemy spawn. I'm completely surrounded and do not last long. I don't know if this is a glitch or some other variable is causing it. It happens fairly regularly for me. My entire team is in one spawn and I'm spawning in the enemy spawn
My tipps are: 1. Listen to Ace 2. Do some challenges and learn to work around a clear weapon disadvantage (No Akimbo ACOG Magnum challenge this year? :-( ) 3. Keep a relaxed mind-set. If you spiral into a bad mood, just take a break ;-)
Play slower, if you’re find an area that has traffic but not too many people coming from different ways, don’t be afraid to wait. But that doesn’t mean to stay there. And control the outside of the map, and work your way to there spawn without flipping them, and pick off the people running towards the middle.

Holding an area of a map isnt really camping, and the way this piece of garbage game designs its maps is to sit still and headglitch your kills.

Really enjoy your videos. I’m relatively new to multipIayer comparatively, as I was all about the zombies series (not for ww2 though). I think a good tip is to be proficient in different styles of play and know how and when, to implement them. I disliked playing against snipers, cause I sucked at using the sniper rifles. Same with rushers, campers and the like. So I practiced and suffered lame k/d and spm statistics (it’s still not great) but eventually came around to know not only how to use the weapons adventitiously, but effectively implement the different styles during game play. War mode is a great place to practice using different styles from defense and traps to rush and hold and all in one game. Plus war mode increases spm w/out affecting k/d.
I still die a lot in tdm, however now more often than not, I end the game with a positive k/d, 15-30 kills, multiple score streak call-ins (all which helps my team) and a good spm.

In this game, sound is HUGE. I find myself stopping for a couple seconds after i get a kill or two, or am regenerating health, just to listen to see if anyone is around me.I decided to upgrade my headset here recently to a "surround sound" one and it is amazing.
To snipers, my best advice would be to not shoot if you’re don’t have the clear shot. Everyone hears sniper fire and knows exactly where it came from usually. Don’t give up your position if you don’t have to.
And stay away from your nooby teammates who just like to shoot just for the hell of it. Sometimes they end up getting you killed because they’re so trigger happy.

This is my first cod and I’m new to pc gaming. I destroyed my kdr at first but it’s so hard to come back from but I get consistent 2 kdr in matches but my kd so far gone it’s really hard to get it higher.
Yeah me too. I go positive most games now, but early on, trying to rank up all the different Divisions and weapons etc my KD was taking a big hit.
Error4-07-99 i had the same thing started with 0.6-0.7 kdr and i had 2000 deaths or something now im at 1.07 kdr it goes slow but that doesnt matter. Also i think with higher kd you get better players as enemys

Harrison Alexander I find myself constantly disappointing myself that I never look at it. One game I'll goeven or a death or two over, realize I never looked at the mini map. Next game I go 6-8 kills over with looking at it, and this is usually in HKC, only hardcore game mode aside from dom i can play without campers
I didn't even really think about strafing side-to-side while shooting at an enemy. Just played my first game while doing that and it definitely helped a lot.

However please when you get the chance please please please look into whats faster, airborne with scoped perk when straifing or infantry IV with scoped perk when straifing. I feel like there is a hidden tip in the discovery of that. My friend and I are gonna run some tests tonight to see but if you did a video it would confirm what we discover...I wanna say airborne with scoped perk even out with infantry IV. But we will see. I'm a bit of a COD veteran nowadays, this is my 6th COD game. I've had a 1.4 KD for the past two years. But in this game I can't get above a 1.0 KD, I do everything "right", I play exactly like I've played in years past (primarily a slow AR player). But my bullets don't register, I barely get double or triple kills, and I've had to camp my ass off just to get the bloodthirstys for Diamond ARs. I'm 4th Prestige, ~100 hours played, and I'm just done with this game. It's so unrewarding no matter what I do I can't go positive. Thanks for the content as always Ace, I guess I'll be back in November for Black Ops 4.

I disagree with what you said about selecting divisions... yes, infantry and airbourne divisions are probably the best in most scenarios; however there are certainly situations where armoured or expeditionary are a great choice. Such as...
1) Armoured is great in hardcore and objective game modes (particularly domination, war and hardpoint). It gives you flak jacket which allows you to use a basic training besides hunker and still get significantly reduced explosive damage.
2) Expeditionary is amazing if you want to play defensively. It allows you to resupply lethal equipment. I always run land mine with this class. The game allows you to keep two land mines active at once, therefor this division is amazing for locking down buildings and/ or control enemy movement. I would also pair this with the gas grenade which allows even more control.
I didn’t mention mountain because you already touched on that. Obviously it is great for the sharpshooter ability as well, but i typically run a 4x scope sniper with my expeditionary division, with rifleman and the combat shotgun as my secondary.

My dad has sucked at CoD as a casual player since CoD4. He took a great liking to WWII and wanted me to help him improve at the game. (He holds a 0.7 K/D, I hold a 2.1)
My best tip to him was how to use the HUD. I told him to look at it a LOT more, like at least 30% of the time. There is so much knowledge a person can gain from their HUD
I also got him a headset for Christmas, and he didn't realize how much valuable audio he was missing (teammate callouts, enemy footsteps, etc.) Get a headset or turn your volume up.

Lastly, I showed him how overpowered the marskman basic training is. It is an economy UAV. You can see emenies from across the map and predict where they will be.
He's up to a 0.9 K/D and regularly going positive in TDM games.

One of the biggest thing that get me that you didnt mentioned is getting nervous when on a streak. For some reason I get supper nervous when I realize Im doing good, and make stupid mistakes like challenge a quick scoper at close range.

Another good one Ace! I use your Aiming drill regularly over the past few CODs and it helps, no doubt. I only wish I could master "strafing" I just don't get it, when I try the result is I spray bullets all over the room until the other guy kills me... Any tips on this? I agree it is important to evaluate, I think it is equally important to analyze what you did right as well - it sets a positive attitude and helps you repeat that positive behaviour. This will result in move confidence - the old "I can do it attitude".

I mostly play hardcore mode so using the mini map to know where everyone is positioned is useless unless recon is used. However I feel like the lack of the mini map in HC mode makes you rely more on your instincts which personally for me made me a better player. Everything just feels fluid & I just react on the situation.

Great video. Very helpful. Another basic training that helps your K/D is instincts. It just helps you survive when people see you that you didn't see. Not the best but very helpful sometimes.
My kd is lower this year than the past 2 years but I don't care!lol i dont mean it in a bad way , I don't try as hard now as I used to because it gets too frustrating, I enjoy WW2 and just want to have fun this year. Most if the time I do ok as long as connections are good💪nonetheless another great video dude I always watch because I know I will learn something I didn't know and even though I'm trying not to obsess over my numbers this year I always want to at least improve 🙃
Single BIGGEST tip: try to have your target centered before ADSing. For some reason, when you ADS and then try to lock on, it feels so inconsistent.
Also, with the health regen, I like to pretend it’s Halo 3. You have a few seconds of no regeneration then your health slowly goes up. It makes playing aggressively almost impossible.

Hi Ace. Thanks for another great video as always. I do your aiming drill before I play online. Do you have any tips / drills for snapping from target to target other than just play the game? It is easy enough to hit 4 or 5 consecutive shots for 1 bot / person, but if it takes 3 seconds to snap on a target or you miss the first 2 or 3 shots then it all goes to pieces. Keep up the great work.
Great video. My skills are awful but I keep working on good habits vs. my long standing bad habits. KD is awful. Need to play more than 2-4 hours a week.
One think you forgot to mention that I see ALOT of people doing is reloading after every single kill, getting caught reloading can really mess you up, most of the guns in WW2 have a 25+ round magazine which you can easily get 3,4 and even 5+ kills before reloading. By all means when you are safely behind cover reload but when you reload after every kill, like I said you are at a disadvantage. East gunfights when your opponent can't fire back at you because they reload their extended mag STG every kill
A great strategy in my opinion is go with the s mine for lethal. How op was the bouncing Betty in the early BO2 days before people learned how to counter it? The s mine is even harder to see and harder to avoid. Especially with less people running flack jacket (hunker) in this game due to not having 3 perks available for use. I get free kills all the time with them. U don't have to worry about cook time for a frag leaving u defenseless. And it will watch your back when ur in a room and alert u of nearby enemies when it goes off. U cant easily rush in this game the way you could in advanced movement CODs. Getting around the map is hard and will get u picked off, especially by op quick scopers. I find more success in locking down an area of a map and setting down an S mine at one of the entrances or pathways nearby. Not necessarily camping lol but more so map control. That one guy that was about to come from behind u with a bayonet just got taken care of thanks to ur little buddy. And the extra 5 or 6 kills a match will definitely help to keep ur kd up

Big tip: play on a small enough screen. A huge screen sounds cool or whatever, but it is impossible to get good screen awareness while sitting in front of a massive tv

My best advice aside from all these good tips, is not to be overconfident in your ability to come out on top in bad situations. Most of the time when I know I shouldnt try a gunfight and try it anyway, I get smoked. Better to reevaluate, slow down the gameplay, and figure out the best way to win every gunfight even before the enemy knows whats happening

I'll be honest, 99.9% of the time I die, I think it's my fault. Mostly due to accuracy, but sometimes due to some flanking maneuver I hadn't anticipated, or those goddamn S-mines everywhere. However, I always forget the other part: be critical and evaluate how I could have done things better. I really appreciate this video and the reminder. Oh, and the strafing tip. I never considered that.
My KD is 0.92 and I'm proud of it !
It may seem cheesy but the most important stat for me is the enjoyment/annoyment ratio while playing.

Thank you for another great video Ace. As for spawns, I cannot tell you how many times I will repeatedly spawn all by myself in the enemy spawn. I'm completely surrounded and do not last long. I don't know if this is a glitch or some other variable is causing it. It happens fairly regularly for me. My entire team is in one spawn and I'm spawning in the enemy spawn

My tipps are:
1. Listen to Ace
2. Do some challenges and learn to work around a clear weapon disadvantage (No Akimbo ACOG Magnum challenge this year? :-( )
3. Keep a relaxed mind-set. If you spiral into a bad mood, just take a break ;-)
Play slower, if you’re find an area that has traffic but not too many people coming from different ways, don’t be afraid to wait. But that doesn’t mean to stay there. And control the outside of the map, and work your way to there spawn without flipping them, and pick off the people running towards the middle.
Great tips, jw what your class setup was for the grease gun in the second match.
My tip is play War so you can just have fun without worrying about KD, I love war and one of the reasons I play and enjoy this game
