Chorus makes the world a better place
Great overview, thanks! I did a bit of demoing for Roland back around 1980 and for part payment I took a Dimension D Rackmount as well as the GR 300 Guitar Synth & FGN Start Controller. I had read somewhere that Andy Summers was using the Dimension D and that piqued my interest. It is definitely a subtle chorus - I still have it in my studio rig - but it's quite a classy option to the super 'glassy' tones available from the old CE2 etc. Nice pedal, for sure - I tried one a couple of years ago and didn't feel I 'needed' it, but I did buy an AMXR Analog Chorus, which is well worth a look! Cheers.
I used to have the Boss CE-300 Super Chorus rack unit in the '80s, our keyboard/ synth player used it most of the time, I used it at home though, there were some wonderful chorus sounds that came from that unit, I had it on the AUX bus of my mixing desk at home, I ended up selling it to the keyboard player when he left our band, he more or less pestered me to sell it to him, I have the CE2 Boss chorus pedal that he gave me as my reason for not selling it to him was there were songs in the set that required chorus guitar, I wish I had kept it now and told him to use his CE2 pedal.
This is the first time I have seen and heard this DC2 pedal, very nice.
I have been experimenting with my guitar plugged into VCV Rack and sampling the guitar part and using some of the effects modules with the sample, I can control the effect settings with CV from sequencers and LFO modules which results in some very nice ambient sounds.
Nice presentation my man, well done. This is the only pedal I bought (of many) that really moves me. Fantastic stuff
Btw, do you notice a tone enhancement even with the pedal off? (but still in line)
Couldn't help but notice how good your tone was before the pedal came on. I thought you must have an original 60s Vox, or the Boss buffer is doing its thing
I noticed my Vibro Champ sounds a bit vibier (real word?) than usual when I have my DC-2W in line as well
Cheers
I don't know about enhancement. But as far as I'm aware the waza craft pedals are buffered bypass so maybe that's what you're hearing? Thanks for the kind words about my clean tone. Sadly it's not a 60s AC15, it's definitely a modern one, although I did buy it second hand so I couldn't tell you exactly what year
@JamesDorsett11 For sure man, well deserved
Well the signal chain is a mysterious thing as we all know. I'm guessing you have some nice pickups on the guitar, possibly aftermarket
I do know that in the Wazas, Boss actually puts a higher quality buffer in all those pedals. I've definitely noticed it on my amps and I think I might have been hearing that through yours
To my ears anyway, who knows. Great pedal though ✌🏻

Nice one James! It sounds really nice, definitely gives you a different sounding clean tone which is cool. When you had 1 and 4 on it instantly gave me 80’s Rock/Metal ballad tone. Especially the Testament ballad songs (The ballad and The legacy). Great vid as alwsys 😁🤘🏻
Good video but may I suggest you get a pop filter and/or EQ out the low end of your mic? Your plosives are quite pronounced when listening with reasonably good headphones.
Thanks for the advice. I have actually got a different mic which should fix this issue for upcoming videos

Lucky the video is 8:40 then I guess
Uncle Dick's opinions - bored after 30 seconds 💬 👍🏻
Ok, but I still don’t like the sound. It’s instantly 80s pop 🤢. And it’s VERY chorus-like.
If I want a phaser I get one (or a vibe).
I use a real leslie cab and I even don’t like that sound on the slow rotor speed sometimes because it has a chorus-like quality.
…but that’s just me.
Fair enough. Everyone has different tastes
Nah it comes down to the playing style.
It's super fresh and new if you're putting the right notes through it.
It's just a tool, an enhancer
