Nice size tractor for many different jobs on the farm. And you stayed with the JD. One big plus of watching your videos is seeing the John Deere’s in action. And those models you have are favorites.
I delayed evening chores to see this!! Great addition to your fleet. Not sure about powershift but being a Deere, it is engineered real well. It is very neighborly to let the traffic go by. (Some day I will get a cab) :)
Ima tell you this a powershift on them old John Deere’s that shift smooth don’t mess with it John Deere ant get powershift right till the 8thousand series but nice buddy !

I would love to get back into one with the 15 speed for my discbine, but would really be interested in reliability issues now that they are long in the tooth. Thanks for all of the great videos.
Nice one Mike. Love the 40 and 50 series. Easy to maintain, able to do so many things on the farm, no DEF, no computers. Check fluids, filled with fuel and get the job done.

Nice addition for your farm! Quad-range would have been nice, but you'll manage. Always loved the 4250's. Plus you need to stay with the Sound Gard cab style so it matches the rest of your horses, right?

Kids along in the fields, reminds me of my upbringing. We bought a new front wheel assist 4250 W/power shift in 1983, and it's still one of the best tractors on our farm. My latetest upgrade showed up last monday. A new Landoll disk, and instead of limping an old marginal machine around. We now have something we can really count on. I bet your going to like that tractor, and I wish you and your family a prosperous new year.
Looks like its in good shape. Hard to believe that 50 series are over 30 yrs old. Still good horsepower without the high priced new iron. Be a good fit on farm
Thank you. We still have the 4040 so thats a good thing. I'm not sure, the 4250 factor should have more than the 4055 but we did turn the 4055 up a little. Gotta get the 4250 out there and see what it can do
I think you'll love the 15 speed ps. We have a 4440 with quad and it's great but two of my neighbors have 4250 with ps and they are awesome. Very peppy tractors. Hope it will be a great asset to your farm.

Nice tractor ! No Def or emissions crap . Best cold start I've seen on TH-cam this year ! That's a decent older machine but still useful . Those style johndeeres were and still are really good looking machines . We still have a 4640 that we use for running augers and raking hay . Great video keep up the good work!
Absolutely. Going to be nice having this on the blower instead of the 4040. Should really move that material up the blower pipe and speed up unloading a little
FEHR cab in Fairbury Illinois makes nice cab kits for those tractors I put one in a 4650 a few years ago most of the panels were plastic backed with adhesive on them so you didn't have to glue as much.

We just put on road diesel in it. We were running low in our tank and had 1 more field of corn to combine. Wanted to make sure the combine had plenty of fuel
I like it. Very nice model. Greenwood's still have one, front wheel assist. I think he bought it new. He did a lot of work with it. Hope it works out well for ya. It's got some nice tall rubber on the back. Sounds good. Can't wait to see it at work.

Looks good Mike. Don't be afraid of the 15 sp powershift. Got a 4430 & 4840 w/ the 8 speed ps. Like the powerquad the best though in the 7420 & 6410.

I always loved the quad range! I grew up in 4430 with quad range. Excellent transmission and very versatile tractor
What was the horsepower of the 4250 ?
They were rated about 120 HP. We'll have to get it on the dyno sometime and see what its running
4250 is close in hp to the 5010,4520,4430.Love hearing those turbocharged Deere tractors start up because they have a sound all their own.
