Very informative, wish I watched this video earlier. My baby was eating earlier, but now he doesnt open his mouth. He is 8 months old. What can I do to overcome this issue? Thanks
Thank you for your feedback. Around 8 months old, many babies want more control over the feeding process. This is a good time to transition to setting food out for the baby to self feed. You may offer food cut up in strips, as I demonstrate in this video: th-cam.com/video/9uAG2EKya9o/w-d-xo.html Or you may start teaching your baby to self feed using a spoon, as I demonstrate in this video: th-cam.com/video/dESE4txcTtg/w-d-xo.html Try giving your baby more control over feeding himself and see how it goes. Remember that the breastmilk or formula your child is already taking is the primary source of your baby's nutrition and food is just complimentary.
Thank you for watching! When the baby is that young, I would first discuss it with your baby's doctor to make sure there isn't an underlying medical condition that is causing the baby to have pain during feeding, like reflux. This can sometimes come across like a feeding aversion.
Brilliant video! Our little one from beginning never brought anything to her mouth we thought this was a blessing as she wouldn't put foreign object's into her mouth. But now we find she won't even put food into her mouth. She'd want us to feed her all the time and won't feed herself despite various attempts, demonstrating, spoon play, etc. Any suggestions welcome and appreciated. Thank you
Could you please make a video explaining why the baby won't drink. My daughter is 8 months old and she doesn't like to drink neither water, nor juice. When she was exclusively breastfed that was okay. But now that she's taking solids, she gets constipation, which I think is connected with little water intake.
Thank you for watching the video. If your baby is older than 4 months, you can start using an open cup made for babies to get the baby to drink more milk. If your child is older than 9 months, then you may start teaching the baby to use a straw cup designed for babies. I demonstrate how to do this in the following video: th-cam.com/video/M-vOsfENdu4/w-d-xo.html
Do you recommend using an allergenic food (eg. Egg) that has already been introduced to the baby on a week where we are introducing a new allergenic food?
If you introduced egg before and your baby took it multiple times without having an allergic reaction, then it’s fine to offer it in the same week that you’re introducing a new allergenic food.
My daughter started spoon-feeding her 6 month old about two weeks ago and she's been giving him his own spoon from day one and letting him feed himself too, which I thought was brilliant.
The only thing is if they keep the spoon sometimes I worry he might choke on it or poke his eyes. Since it is long and even the short ones can hurt their eyes. My baby likes to randomly throw his head around.
Love your content! Thank you! My baby is 7mo and has been introduced for solids since 6mo. I have done a combination of purées and BLW. We have expz bowl and spoons. We also have Gootensils. My son does not seem to have interest in self feeding and when attempting to spoon feed, he does not grab the spoon or even open his mouth. He is developmentally ready, so I’m not sure what to do. Guidance would be appreciated.
Thank you for watching my video and thank you for your feedback. Some babies are more motivated to self feed than others. It sounds like you’re trying to give your baby the opportunity to self feed. Try putting strips of food on the babies plate and have him part of the family mealtime. Give him an opportunity to watch the family eating and give him 10 to 15 minutes to try to self feed during that time. Sometimes by watching how it’s done helps them get the concept. Otherwise continue to be patient with him and pre-load the spoon and lay it close to him to pick up or offer it for him to take from your hand.
hi Lauren, I hope you are doing fine, may I know how you managed to feed you kid later, did he learned to open his mouth? how did you teach him that? My baby is 6 month old and doesn't open her mouth either, the feeding time is super stress-full now a days :(
Razia thank you for asking for my input. Is your child refusing to take foods that you offer that are not in the consistency of a purée or, have you only been offering food in that consistency and holding off on offering regular food that the rest of the family eats?
My baby was eating till 8-9 months but then she refused and we started force feeding her now she completely refused to put anything in her mouth . Please help how can I make my baby interest in food and start eating
Thank you for watching this video. Babies don't like to be forced to eat, and your baby is at an age that she can feed herself. I recommend that you allow your child to self feed while you are close by observing her, but at the same time eating your meal. This allows her to see how it should be done, and gives her more control and independence over the feeding process. Also give your child a lot of praise and positive reinforcement even for small attempts to eat.
Hi Divinity. It’s unlikely that you already deterred your baby from enjoying food. Now you know what to do to correct it and I think your baby should be good.
My baby is 7month old. He completely refusing formula. Im worried if is getting proper nutrition or not. He is only taking breast milk. A part from that i started semi solid. But i dont know how much nutrition is getting from it. Please advise what should i do?
Chitra thank you for your question. The best way to know if your baby is getting enough nutrition from what he is eating now is that he’s growing and gaining weight appropriately. Speak to your child’s healthcare provider about your child’s weight and height for his age. Many babies do well on breastmilk without having to take formula supplementation. At 7 months we still expect that breastmilk will be the primary source of the baby’s nutrition, and semi solid is complementary food.
It's like I'm on webinars taking course on these feeding series, this is literraly channel of blessing! I am now getting more and more confident because of this and I'm educating my husband, too! if for fully developed baby at 6mos, we can have variety of food and texture, also with the allergic category food? I'd like to confirm also with the meat please? I know you've mentioned it on the early part of the series but just wanted to be very sure. Thank you!
Thank you for your feedback, I greatly appreciate it! Yes as long as your baby is showing all the signs of readiness to take solid foods, you may offer a variety of textures of the allergic foods and meat as long as you offer it in safe forms for the baby.
My baby started at 6 months he is now 7 months and still doesnt want to eat anything, he doesnt want to open his mouth and he has all the signs. I dont know what else to do 😭
Some babies take longer to take an interest to food than others. I recommend that you have your son sitting in his high chair beside the table at all family mealtimes. Watching others eat models for the baby how it's done. You can also try laying out food during mealtimes in the form of soft strips, and give him the opportunity to start picking it up and self feeding when he is ready for it. We don't want to keep reinforcing a negative experience for the baby by force feeding. I have details on how to prepare food in safe size strips that the baby can self feed in my baby feeding playlist, that you may find helpful.
Hi doctor, my baby is 6 weeks old she if growing good but from past 1 week she is showing aversion for both bottle and breast, we have to sleep feed her. Any idea how can we fix it ? We are little anxious we thought it will resolve in 1-2 days but it’s been a week and she is so young.
Thank you for watching this video. Without knowing your baby’s history and not having the opportunity to examine your baby, it is hard to know what may be causing these symptoms. It’s best to have the baby evaluated by a medical professional
My baby is 6 months old now...he has both bottle and breast feeding aversion...he don't allow to touch his mouth.he is in dehydration..In India, paediatricians don't believe in feeding aversion. I am also a doctor. Don't know what to do
This baby feeding set so expensive and so sad all TH-camrs try to advertise it without considering parent budget or introduce different options
Thank you so much. Your video is very help full. Now I know why my baby's feel unconfortable and start crying when I wiped his mouth.
Really impressed with all your content! Thanks for putting it out there.

What to do if Ezpz not available in our country
Thank you for inquiring. Look for another brand that's available in your country that makes small handled spoons for babies.
