Petrify still gets the Silver-medal for "new best Pacifism". Planar Disruption from All Will Be One is still in the lead for me because it also hits planeswalkers and does the same effect.
I think cooped up from WOE is better than both and it isn't even close. The fact that you can actually exile the creature is very key and makes it closer to a real removal rather than just a pacifism.
@@1ryb360 I heavily disagree. At that point you are paying 5 to exile the creature, which is a terrible rate - you can literally cast a Sunfall for this cost. Planar Disruption hits 3 card types, petrify hits 2, while cooped up only hits 1 (creatures, which the other options hit as well). Plana disruption is definitely the closest to being playable, and cooped up is imo straight up bad.
@@Icameron259 I mean if we are talking constructed I dont think any pacifism effect is close to playable at all unless you are playing an aura commander deck (even then you often have better options) so it's kinda pointless to compare them outside of limited. And in limited I would much much rather prefer to actually get rid of the creature than leaving it on the battlefield.
Trumpeting Carnosaur might also be a good consideration for the Standard Reanimator deck, as it’s a good reanimation target (good body with card advantage) that also acts as removal while naturally putting itself in the graveyard.
Petrify actually isn’t the best pacifism. That honour goes to Planar Disruption from All will be one, since it also hits planeswalkers. That being said, it’s still solid.
100% lmao. Though they both have a niche in pauper, they don't say "Unless mana ability", meaning you can enchant the artifact lands and basically have a sinkhole for decks like affinity.@@collinbeal
4:25 all the Jund Gods will go great in my Henzie brew. You get a few decent attacks, a card draw, and they transform in a land later. Absolute slam dunks.
Axonil does have some upside with some common Henzie cards though, which maybe gets it the cut. Inferno Titan can flip it back, and also if it's in play because it was flipped back by something else or reanimated or cheated out, it make Inferno Titan deal a truly absurd amount of damage. And while you can't flip it back with end step fling effects, you can with main phase ones. MOM Ayara is a good example there. I'm not sure it quite makes the cut because Henzie has so many good cards, both in general and from this set in particular, but I do think it's more practical than what you might think.
My understanding is that because it checks multiple sources it doesn't need the damage to all happen at once. We'll see for sure with the release notes I'm sure, but based on Magic's wording norms Titan should work.
The Trumpeting Carnosaur probably doesn't make the cut in Mississippi River since it has to resolve to get the discover trigger where the upside of the cascade spells is that they simply need to hit the stack to put 2 copies of creative technique on the stack as well.
7:30 It removes the best part of the Mississippi River, it forces your opponent to have 2 counters!! the dino just needs one counter to stop the River.

Nah, you live on the edge you die on the edge, graveyard synergy is way too good of an archetype to not have easily accessible counterplay. If you want graveyard exile protection, play Syr Konrad.
I think WatC made a mistake making graveyard hate so effective in the beginning. Exile the whole graveyard for like 1 mana? They should have scaled it by the card and the mana cost from the beginning. Like "exile up to 5 cards from a graveyard." @@mathkittie6472
Contested game ball is pretty decent in standard sideboards vs control, it slots into any deck and if they want to try beanstalk syncopate cute stuff this comes down early and can draw up to 5 cards, a midrange deck could definitely consider it in place of a removal spell.
I don't think you'd play Carnosaur in Mississippi river. It's discover ability is an ETB, rather than an on-cast (like I believe all cascade triggers are, as well as the demonstrate ability). The strength of the Miss deck was that thanks to cascade/discover going on the stack on cast, generally opponents needed multiple counterspells to actually stop it from going off. A single counterspell stops both the Carnosaur and its discovery (because it never enters the battlefield for it to trigger).

I feel like you might be a little too high on the green god because it feels similar to needing city's blessing. The problem I see is that unlike city's blessing, you can lose the 10 permanent count threshold.
If every box topper were value, then the cost of the boxes would increase to match. If every box had two $100 bills in it, then they aren't going to sell the box for $150. Understand? There has to be junk. It's a lottery, not a charity.
The green god isn’t even a watered down version of Gishath. It’s literally just a better version. It does the same thing without restriction (which is what holds Gishath back), it costs less mana, and doesn’t really die. Only thing it doesn’t have is the haste and there’s plenty of ways around that. I really despise modern card design philosophy.
