Pro tip for maximizing sentinel value: Build and paint it as a scout (Helps to paint the driver and then glue them and the roll cage in), and then you can just glue the parts that form the armored sentinel together and leave it separate, that way you can swap the same model between both types, don't even need to mangnetise it.
Magnetizing is not hard really, it's a bit time consuming, but it certainly isn't "hard" as such. There's a pretty nifty video floating around on how to magnetize and keep everything inside the body of the tank for storage, absolute godsend for my way of seeing things
Great video man. I watched your previous video about building a beginner army and ended up buying three combat patrols and the Christmas box! I finally have them built and need to start painting. Thanks for the content and guidance.
I built a command squad with plasma pistol and two plasma guns with a 20 cadian blob with 2 more plasma guns and 2 melta’s, then had creed with them all to give me free fields of fire with FRFSRF and Take aim, get a scouted target and move them within 12 inches and you could do some reasonable damage
I really want to build the melta, but I almost never get to use them.. The grenade launcher on the other hand just get used every battle round that the squad can shoot. The Krak isn't the best, but I've seen it go "golden bebe" and actually do damage to heavy tanks and knights, and the frag gets to enjoy the blast rule plus it gets the assault rule too. So it's usually the grenade launcher for me.
Yeah, I typically prefer to go grenade launcher or flamer, I rely on my Infantry to help provide volume fire for horde control, not to be truly threatening to tanks, plus by the time they get close enough to use the melta I've usually already fed him into the meat grinder

Look Mordian, take the standard and with a little bit of filing you can equip the sergeant torso (just file away the lil magazine pouch) with the regimental standard. That allows you to equip the regimental standard torso with the PROPRIETARY grenade launcher, that means that you do not waste weapons options.
I was going to make a all flamer and melta list with my homebrew guard and black Templar crusade (they are black and purple with gold trim and no red) and they are chill with my homebrew eldar craftworld and tau scept specifically but will still fight others. I’m still working on the lore reasons to make it believable plus I love all these factions and I wanted to play black templars just with my own custom way of doing it. Plus I wanted all flamers and melta cause it made sense for black Templars to have them lol.
I know we all want a tank in the Combat Patrol but since we can’t have that (hard to balance with other Combat Patrols), I feel like the one we got isn’t too bad.
May I ask what movement trays you use mordian ? I play gaurd and a tau infantry armies and it gets so boring moving all the battel lines 😅sorry if this is dumb to ask.
Sorry if I went off topic on my comment I just wanted all flame weapon guard and Templars 😅. Would that be possible gameplay wise and would I go to make it at least decent on the table top
The ordinance batteries come with 2 sets of guns, and you'll get the parts to make 2 bombast, 2 lascannons and 2 rocket artillery. Combat patrol just has the regular set, so you'll get all of them.
Hmm i Have this list for my 500 pts. Tank commander on Demolisher (2x. Meltas or Bolters depending what enemy has tech or infantry 1 lascannon, Stormbolter, Hunterkiller) as warlord Cadian Castellan (Powerfist and plasmapistol) 2 Cadian troops (10 men each) 1 (Grenade launcher and plasma) 2 (melta and plasma) (Both Sergeants have Chainswords and boltpistols because I don't want my guardsmen having weapons like those chaos cultist shmucks why sergeant can't have a boltgun) 3 Bullgryns with (Mauls and Bruteshields) (I hate how those ugly little bucklers are better ingame than cool giant armored door) 1 heavy weapons squad of 3 mortar teams. Is this a good list for 500 pts?
With respect, the Combat Patrol has specific rules and specific loadouts for unit comp. If someone is planning to just get this box as a "dip the toes in 40K", then they should look at the loadout that is mandated by the CP rules. Otherwise, your unit comp won't match and you will have a hell of a time trying to keep track of what model is what when you play another player in a Combat patrol match. You should do a better job of making sure folks know that up front in your video.
Lucky me… I just bought combat patrol :D Emperor protects!
That he does!
Me too!! I'm getting into Warhammer for the first time.

Petition for mordian to make a video on how to magnetise a baneblade or leman russ
Why magnetize the leman? You dont need to glue the turett base and you can swap weapon easily, the rest are easily swapped...
magnet fetish videos are as cringe as toe/foot pics
Petition for short on how to cut off sprue xD

Told my guard playing friend that I may pick it up to see what he likes about it. Excellent timing
Concise information for beginner players
Before I even watched this episode I had planned almost identical list! I’m glad I’m learning the game and its quirks
This army setup will make for a solid platform to build upon. Great video.
i know it doesnt mean much but the veteran in cadian command squad can also take a plasma pistol along with his plasma gun
It definitely is impactful when you get into close combat. Thanks for the tip!

Thank you, great info for starting out
I dont even play guard, i just like your videos
Love the enthusiasm there guardsman! Your initial support is generous to this channel 🫡
Your content is gold as always. You are saving Guard trooper lives with each video :-)
Yes, it's helpful. No to the other factions. Guard for life. Anything less is heresy.

Best load out is the one with guns, lots of guns
Awesome video! Keep em coming
Just got my combat patrol, The Emperor Protects o7

Lord General Sir! Do you ever command Combat Patrol missions?

I've literally just built it 🥲🥲🥲
Did they change the rules of combat patrol? I thought it was set loadouts
No rules have changed, he's discussing about the recommended wargear for the models as you build 2000 points of the Imperial Guard
@@DeathKorpsOfWrathahhhh okay , thank you for clearing it up for me! Cheers!!
Can i really go double bombast with the combat patrol?? I havent assembled the ordnace yet, but i thought they only give you one bombast?

Easy. Brood Brothers

Hey Mordian, do you think the guard Combat Patrol will be changed on codex release like the others so far?
I dont think so, Its very recent since it only came out at the end of 9th and its fairly balanced.

On the Combat Patrol datasheet the Armoured Sentinel is predefined with a Plasma Cannon. It has no other heavy wepon loadout choices.
Actually, about other hobby youtubers... Are there any youtubers focused on modelling guard that you perhaps would recommend?..

Wrong way. You take officer and 4 vets, you give each vet a sniper lasgun and hunt commaers and other HQ with 2+ shots.
