I can 100% relate to the body hair one. When I was 13 I was in the car with my dad after a volleyball game that my team had lost and I just bursted out crying. He thought it was because we lost but I eventually told him I was crying because I was so insecure of my legs. He said he would talk to my mom about it and EVENTUALLY she said I could shave, when I was 15.
I know some girls have it worse or different but this was my experience 🙃

To any parents, if your daughter asks for makeup, it’s not always because she doesn’t feel beautiful enough. Even so not letting her have makeup won’t make her feel beautiful, it will make her feel worse. Just because you tell your child their beautiful doesn’t always mean they believe it

@@DarthObscurity that's not what I'm saying. I specified that if she wants makeup, you can allow her some. Maybe dont let her appearance take over her life, but just brushing off "your already pretty" and not saying anything else about it won't convince them. Most teenagers need to feel like they put in an effort to look good to feel good. It doesn't have to be a big effort, but a small one is fine.

What some people don’t realize about the body hair is the opposite can be true. I have darker hair so my body hair has always been quite visible but it generally doesn’t bother me. Exactly. For the period thing, last year I was in math class and two kids from my science teacher’s class came and knocked on our class door (my math teacher was the lead teacher on the hall) and they were talking abt something when the teacher came back in and called the VP. I later found out what happened, so my science teacher was a bad teacher and basically never taught us anything, so it turned out that one girl was on her period and had to go to the bathroom, she asked, the teacher said no. She told the teacher she was on her period, the teacher still said “you can wait” the rest of the class knew what was going on and they were on the girls side, but the teacher still wouldn’t listen. So the girl left the class and went to the bathroom without the teachers permission. Later the VP gave the girl detention and told the kids that if that happened again, they would get ISS. (The teacher did not get in any trouble, the VP was on the teachers side.) anyway, it made me hate my science teacher even more and I feel so bad for the girl who got in trouble.

I remember when I was young I didn't realize it but my I was super privileged. My Mother let me start hair removal when I was 10 years old and let me try out various forms of it aswel. My Dad though it was dumb for a girl at that age to remove any hair but I ignored him of course. By the time I was in highschool I was absolutely flabbergasted at how much girls, including my closest friend stole their Mother razor or used to a friend's just because their parents were afraid they were "Too Young". I had no idea how blessed I was, and only recently have learned that ❤️
