This is RC drag racing at its best. The New Jersey crew has some of the fastest rc drag cars in the Northeast. It's Sunday funday at drag city and these guys do battle with their heavily modified rc drag cars. Chassis used are the Traxxas Slash, Arrma Infraction, Arrma Talion, with scale bodies to match. Some very cool looking cars like a Nova body, Chevelle, 66 Chevy Chargers and more.

This video was made about 2 weeks before everything was shut down.. Everything has been closed, Race tracks volunteered to shut down for the safety of their racers.. Yeah no doubt. I'm not into these drag cars but I imagine they are not cheaper to build than a "run of the mill" 1/10 scale touring car. I have a Tamiya TT01 clone and by the time I got it to 60 MPH with all the upgrades I'm well north of $1000. And that's not even counting in repairs after a hard crash at 60 MPH. LOL.

You guys should make a special dragracing TRACK so you're rc cars stay inside the tracks .plus a monitor telling how fast and time it ran. Make this a sport.
I was thinking the same thing. It would require to much work with storage and transportation of custom made scale track walls. Both sides times the length of the track would be a couple medium trailer loads of material plus setup time. They have these races in large parking lots. What needs to happen is they need to have them at real drag tracks but there not going to let RC guys run over the real cars on the weekend. Soon perhaps we will see permanent custom RC drag tracks soon!!

I am an avid drag racer. I have bracket raced for years (in a full sized car) I currently have a 5th gen Camaro drag car and I have to say I’ve had more fun watching these things than I have watching a pro series finals in a long time.

You mean the toe angle? On an unprepped surface without locked diffs that won't make much of a difference

Im thinking, that the thinking on the front steering geometry, the thinking needs to be changed to laying back the tops of the front spindles to slow the darting issues?

nice i raced there once this year i been doing road racing this year at jackson rc raceway and dirt oval there there an drag event sep 13 at 11am at hobbytown with a drag tree and you get time slips
What are some tire these cars run? When ever I use my tires they just pop the glue

Are they running 66 feet or 132 foot track? What speed are they running? I just got an Arrma infraction catching a speed bug.
Might be a dumb question, but why don't they lock the steering and focus on the throttle after configuring the best steering trim?
You guys bring generators to charge up or just have enough packs on hand all day?
How come you don't put down any VHT? Where we used to run in North Jersey we always put it down.. Might help the fast guys keep straight off the line.

How long is their strip? 132 feet (1/4 mile), or 66 feet (1/8th mile). I see some RC drags trying to emulate No Prop Kings but are using a 132 ft strip, which ain't right. No Prop and Street Racing is 1/8th mile.
