I am not judging on his spending but I am judgiing based on his thinking. He said swithcing is not his thing.... The company where he is working is not his company, everyone wants to make money, I think he should change his thinking.. i dont support every 2 years you should change company But in 12 years he coud have switch 3 comapnies... Atleast he should see his daughter's future and he should switch to another company... Bro you cant or should not get 65k/month for 12 year experiance(he said he is upskilling himself).... If you consider pre-pendamic trend aswell this is low...

Kiran is the face of every middle class Indian. It is not easy to survive in the IT industry and earn decent salary. Not everyone earns 50L package. Their combined family income is 1 lakh and only Kiran stays in Blore. He has tried his best to reduce the expenses: No car, No luxury trips, public transport. Every man has his vices. He is just finding some reason to push hard in life through the impulsive purchases. That does not make him any less in terms of finance. I think its better to have "vice" budget and keep it under control.

Giving your 12 yrs to a company and still at this low CTC, its either his attitude was very laid back or he's scared of going out of the comfort zone.
With the current scenarios the general expenses are going to increase exponentially as his daughter grows, so the only way for him to fix his life get out of his comfort zone and to switch into another company .
Also the cheapest watch in his collection is under 2k😅,
Either he was bluffing or the prices were falsified for video purposes.

Actually i was at same package at same experience.. but got frustrated and switched 6 months ago for 2.5x hike.. well it's not that easy as interviews are hard and to prepare for interview it took around 6 months of studying and then to get selected to multiple companies it took around 2-3 months.. and i first 15-20 interviews normally you get rejected everytime and you loose the confidence of moving ahead so you settle where you are.. i see many of my friends not going for interviews after failing in around 10 of them.. as it takes the confidence and energy out of you. In IT industry good thing is that you can get 100 interviews in around 3 months.. so you have to fail and get going.. and try another time.. then after 2 months and 20 interviews half of the questions are repeated and you prepare for them and get selected.. it's hard process so people are afraid of switching and getting insulted in interviews,..

Sad reality of IT industry. IT Companies need to understand that softwares n laptops (which they call assets) are not the real assets that they have. Employees make a company n it's culture. No value for employees will equally affect the company sooner then they think. There is absolutely no value for long term associates. The same company will be more than happy paying double for a new person with 1/10th the knowledge.
With what i see in the industry, this attitude is going to affect these Indian IT companies very very soon. Management is just not realising it in time. Times before lockdowns n now is completely different.

There definitely are great candidates however their ask will also be very very high compared to a guy who is in a scenario of that in the video, so no point in comparing them with him. I am comparing the actual industry practice for someone in his position. Also please note most of the hirings today are because there is a desperate need of a person at that role and not because the company wants to add high skills to a project which is already running smoothly. This is an era of high attrition driven recruitment.

Impulse buying can be best avoided by watching different videos of that product like unboxing, detailed review, etc....then do a research on what are other alternatives. Then compare. The plan is to keep yourself occupied for a few days after which the urge to splurge on that product tapers away.
