Many people downplay the value of advice until their own emotions become unbearable. After a long-term divorce a few summers ago, I needed a big push to stay solvent with my firm. I located the most qualified advisor after searching for licenced advisors. Despite inflation, she has helped me grow my reserve from $275k to $850k.

Lynch is a legend, wizard or you name it.. I really regret I did not start my investing with his books as my only Bible. I wasted too much time and opportunities. I started with technical analysis and i read lots of other investing books. None of them works until I learned lynch strategies. It is an aha moment.. On street big money is made by sitting long-term with good yet still growing companies. Investing should be this simple and fun. Many thanks to lynch. Your legacy is life changing.

I wonder if we have another beneficiary of good judgement but lucky market timing. To lose money from 1980 to 2000 took skill... I'm concerned if people who went through the 2008 financial crisis had an easier time than I am having now. As a PRO handling OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY he can afford not to be diversified...as much. But, I understand the concept...for a PRO...if you have 1-2 great stocks, you try to get as much as you can. Simple ideas, they accomplish lots, and are not what most people might believe. Invest long term, and don't sell. Many people cut the stocks that are climbing, and keep the falling ones. Purchase shares, and let your account climb over the long term.

  • @arthurkorff

If you can add 8 and 8 and get fairly close to 16 that's all you need to know. 400 million in debt, no equity, no cash, losing money - forget it. 300 million in cash, no debt, 200 million in net worth, they're losing 10 million a quarter - they'll be around. That's all you need.
id like to own a company any fool can run because eventually one will.
theres always something to worry about. everybody has the brain power to do well in the stock market. question is whether you have the stomach for it. thats the key organ in the body. theres always something to worry about.
I remember literally in classes I was in elementary school in the 50s and theyd come in and have an airraid drills. somebody with a yellow hat and theyd blow a whistle and youd get under a desk. even then i said i dont think is going to do a lot of good. people were worried about a depression and nuclear war in the 50s ... now Kazakhstan, Tajikistan ... Goldman Sachs spin offs from the soviet union ... everyone of these countries has enough war heads to blow the whole world up.
remember when oil went from 4 to 40? experts said it was going to 100 and all the countries are going bankrupt. depression. stock markets going down. within two years oil was 14. the experts now much higher paid at this point were saying its going to 4 and were going to have a depression
the older you get the more nervous you get about these things. i think younger people are better investors because theyre not worried. they haven't heard about all these crises.
you know get a seven year old and ask if he knows about the money supply. how fast its going. ask if he knows about the shape of the yield curve. or that were 48.3 months into the economic recovery and the average recovery lasts 53.3 months. seven year olds have a high expectation of the next 20 years.
if you look at 10 companies, youll find 1 mispriced. look at 20 youll find 2. look at 100 youll find 10. whoever turns over the most rocks wins the game.
    Q&A:
what industries do you like best today and why? no idea
whats your favorite stock investment today? no idea
whats you opinion of Wayne Huizenga's style? great style
barton biggs says were in a bear-market-rally, do you agree? bullshit
manny freeman said this morning were in the fifth inning of the current ballmarket ... this is also bullshit. more current bullshit.

This man was more talented than Buffet at investing, the only difference is he was not as greedy.

    • @Ikaros23
      @Ikaros23 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

My impression is that Buffet is LESS greedy than the avrage American man and female. He is content with driveing his old car. Living in the same house he has always lived in. And drinks coke and drinks at Mcdonalds. He buys`s the largest brands in the world and sits long term. The man is brilliant, and the lack of greed is a huge part of it

@@Ikaros23 I think he meant in the sense that Lynch wasn't greedy as he retired early, as he stopped running his fund after 1990. He could have been a multibillionaire if he kept investing up until now. Surely would have been worth at least 70 billion if he invested 100,000 every year with over 20% annualized returns considering his current net worth is 300 million.
