From the unique palettes and gradients tutorial to this one! I used the Quick Mask Tool instead of the painstaking work of creating paths. It worked very well! Thank you for all of your extremely well-taught tutorials. Trust me: If I can follow you, most people can. You're an awesome instructor.
Helpful, but mostly too advanced to me. I will check out your other videos because I don't understand paths or the keyboard shortcut keys. After I understand those better I will watch again. Thanks for sharing.
question. if your using a drawing with different shades and texture of one color (for example red) and you change it to a different color (lets say green) will this match the shading texture?
I was surprised to see you never use the "draw unknown" when you're using the foreground select tool. Seems it would have come in handy around 8:26 to just mark the border between her skin and her dress, so that the algorithm could have a shot at refining that.
The Foreground Select tool always seems to crash Gimp on my machine (an MS Surface Pro 4). Is that usual? Is it particularly resource hungry compared to the rest of the program, or do I have a bug?
Amazing!!! I have been loving the experience so far working on GIMP 2.10.10, But one question though, does the selection Invert tool have a bug or something? when i select an area & invert to work on the rest of the image, it doesn't work properly. kindly advice
Starting yesterday, my darktable 2.6.2 exports blank jpeg files. I had not knowlingly made any changes, but would like to know how to remedy the situation. I can still open the darktable edited files in GIMP and export, but that is quite inconvenient. Can you help?
You would still need to mask out the areas that you don't want effected by the Hue-Saturation adjustments. It is certainly a viable alternative option, though.
I am only 2 minutes into this tutorial, and am finding that switching from the GIMP screen to your talking head is not helpful. Why not just keep the GIMP interface on, and narrate?
too many unnecessary steps due to sloppy errors, if done correctly you wouldn't need to add 10+ extra steps in this video. Makes it more confusing bro lmao

Thank you for this tutorial! (PS - with your monitor and wall color the same color, you look like you're in a box. LOL)

His mastering the paths tool helped me tremendously. Good luck!
Will gimp add more color to certain areas of a picture? examples darken nipples toes
eye lids
This was really helpful, thank you.
What would have changed if you had used colorize instead of using layer modes?

Hi Nice tut. Can you show us how to quickly change the background color of a photo to full white for e-commerce product pages? Thank you.
Talking about a human like an object like "entire person" :)
Awesome video, Thank you Davies!
Sorry I am bit blind where is a link to the photo here? Cheers

is the foreground select tool able to choose an entire picture, but keep all the different shades of colors?
Fantastic!
Great video, thank you
Another great tutorial!
Amazing!!!

Yes, it does. You have to turn off OpenCL in your preferences for it to work in 2.10.10. It’s quite an annoyance.
thank you so much.
What kind of things do you have to do for a white or blonde haired person?
how are your tools colorful? mine are black and white.
Very helpful thank you
you just saved my secret santa gift buddy
This method is time consuming. Is there a third party plugin for recoloring?
It´s quite strange cause when I select blue, in the picture is painted with brown :-S. Can anyone tell what´s going on? Thank you

I'm not familiar with this issue but if I come across anything helpful I'll let you know!
Great !!! Thank's a lot !!!!
Who else thought he was shirtless when he first popped on camera? 😆
Lmfao
I'm looking forward to Gimp 3.0, what will it bring again?
Joy, prosperity, peace on earth - among other things.
I hope you can leave the GIMP screen on at all time rather than to see you, it'll help to understand better
thanks
How to adapt this to change to black dress?
why did u us a air brush and not the clone tool for the top of the hair? was it a personal choice ?
The clone tool was picking up too many dark pixels and making it look smudged.
@@DaviesMediaDesign thank you
Great, Davies, we want some tutorial about typography?
Woow nice tutorial. And what model is that Dell its HUGE!!
Nice 👍
How do add a layer to color the path
Nice
I wish there was an easier and more effective way to keep the hair color the same but change the color of the background that peeks through.
i did this image from GIMP only
Why not just use Hue-saturation

Why you make this simple thing soooo completed..!!!

Your literary selections... placed so conveniently in view of the camera... screams pretentious.
Very informative video, but it;s annoying that jump between the image and your face.
Thanks anyway!
