Nah, I can't imagine a Subbie's HG (x2) would be easier. Especially with the consideration of removing the engine. The little Yota 1ZZ HG replacement really isn't that bad. Cheers!
Hi this happens when you don’t use the correct coolant use Toyotas long life i see you have some green coolant an replace hoses and radiator cap every 36k and you never have to worry that was your problem it’s called maintenance read your owners manual and you avoid this
Thanks for the comment. I'm not the original owner. I acquired the vehicle with 240k on the clock and the blown headgasket. I replaced the head gasket, I used green coolant and it's doing fine 50k miles later. Coolant these days doesn't have to be swapped that frequently. In fact, it's quite a waste of resources in more ways than one. I'll continue to change the coolant every 100k on this lil ol thing and replace the cap as necessary. I hope you reevaluate your stance on the 36k service. That's quite wasteful when long-life coolant lasts anywhere from 100-250k miles in most average vehicles.
Thanks for the video man, I'm pulling my head tomorrow wanted to see what the guts look like.
You're welcome. It's not a bad job. I hope it all goes well for you!
Thx for the video I never took off the head of a Toyota any other tips or is it pretty straightforward I’m V8 old fashioned trained thx
These aren't bad at all. No special tips other than having the proper head bolt tool.
Great thanks
What size is the socket 8mm ? Thanks again
It seems like the Subaru head gaskets (both) are easier to replace even without removing the engine as supposed to

My friend specializes on replacing Subaru head gaskets without removing the engine. I help him with pulling the prybar. 😅

Wow it seems like you came here looking for advice, turns out you’re just a douche. Appreciate the video, Josh.
