Timing IS everything…I recently purchased the EXACT Gilbert switcher at a local train show, and will use your repair vid to service mine. Great channel, keep up the fine work on American Flyer S and HO gauges! 🚂
I have a handful of Lionel HO and they amuse me how poorly built they are! I also discovered the steam engines are indeed based on a John English design which Im sure was a much better engine in every way
@MygrandpasTrain I also still have my late 50s Lionel H0 set which I believe was made for them by Athern. Rubber band drive system- smooth, quiet but not much pulling power.
Gotta shout out a little love for the hometown road with those CNW Fs. Remember fondly as a boy lying in bed on a summer night hearing the last commuter train of the night spooling up pulling out of town as well as freights grinding up out of the Desplaines river valley heading for the Twin Cities or Proviso bound freights grinding up out of the Fox River valley depending on the wind direction.
I have one with the smoke and Choo Choo unit 🚂
Gotta love these old Gilbert HO locos. Great quality stuff.
I have the version with the smoke and choo choo. They are great little runners. Enjoyed watching you get this one running again. Steven.
Where is the smoke and Choo Choo unit 🚂🚂🚂
It's missing the smoke and Choo Choo unit 🚂
Never had it from the factory on this one. I have two of these, one with and one without the smoke/ choo choo

Thanks for watching! These are great little engines.
Gilbert had it all over Lionel in H0. I still have my #443 Hudson that I purchased brand new at the factory store. My mom worked there for a while.

Great repair. Your HO streamline coaches look fantastic.
Thanks!

CNW is my favorite railroad, because my grandfather was an engineer on that line. He also fired steam back in the day! Thanks for watching
