"I wish people appreciated that I am on a new path" Rachel said this only 6 months after murdering her friend. Her friend didn't get the change to choose a new path, a new set of friends. Gosh! I hope both killers never get ant peace.
I remember when this happened. Over the years, I’ve often thought of her parents, especially her father. His heartbreak was palpable. I knew Skyler was their only child and could identify with them because I only have one son and I cannot imagine their pain. Ii hope they have found some peace. I had a “friend” like Racheal in high school. She moved here in my junior year and made it a point to cause problems between me and my best friend at the time. She even had red hair. We had a little 6 person reunion about 10 years ago and I made it clear that I couldn’t care less what either of them thought. God bless the Neese family. I will never forget this case. RIP Skyler. 😢🙏🏼💐

I’ve been a true crime fan for well over 30 years and this is one of the most tragic and shocking cases that I’ve ever heard of. I think that it happened for a combination of reasons. I think that because Skylar was poor and they were not, they thought they were better than her. I also think that they were jealous of the relationship that she had with her parents. They might have been better off financially, but they clearly lacked the love and attention that Skylar experienced at home. I think that they thought they mattered and she didn’t. They thought that no one besides her parents would care and that they would never become suspects. I also think that it made them mad, especially Sheila, that she had her own mind and couldn’t be controlled. Unfortunately they’ll end up being paroled at some point, but if any minors deserve actual life with no parole, it’s those two. May Skylar RIP and her parents find peace as well.
Rachel had a parole hearing last year and this year, but both were denied. She will be out in 2028 at the latest. Until than, she will be eligible for parole every year. By the way there is a podcast on Spotify called "Three" about this incident. On episode 8 they have put in Rachel's parole hearing from last year where she explained why she did it.

Clearly it's more important to teach our children from a young age that grades and learning is far more important than friends. Friendships at this age never last and does not put food on your table.
Learning social skills is an integral part of becoming a successful adult. You can't tell them to not have friends, just stop them from seeing bad ones.
So true, who even keeps in touch with high school friends anyway? Education and achieving is more important and the friendships we develop in adulthood are more valuable
@@Nya9091 I don't know anyone now from highschool. Even if I did, they likely would have little impact on my life. I have noticed that things seem so competitive in American highschools. Schools having their own football team, cheer leader squads, voting, graduation, you can be kept back years, plus not wearing school uniforms has a massive impact on peer groups. Then it continues into university, with Fraternities & Sororities. Having the pressure of getting into and being part of these groups. Then finally the social pressure of achieving the 'American dream' life. In the UK we have none of the above. Plus most schools have a uniform and yet still life has its own pressure at this age. I am glad I did not grow up in the States.
I hope one day the law is changed as great as this book was, there’s no doubt the heart wrenching sadness of the fact that a girl so mentally unhealthy being Rachel, but Sheila, not only equally is guilty, but probably the leader without a doubt, having zero remorse there was not even talk of her crying. At least Rachel showed some emote And I think the Senate she got is a disappointment, and I do not at all think it is cruel and unusual punishment to have given her the life senate. She deserved without parole. Her age has nothing to do with the amount of mercy. She deserves in my opinion only God can show mercy on someone like this as humans we are certainly not capable no judge, no jury, not a president not a Congress. None of us are truly capable of passing the judgment, that this girl deserves, nor the judgment that we pass on each other every day as humans, but we do it anyway and we justify ourselves just as this judge justified himself and my opinion this family was robbed not only of their child, but of genuine Justice. There is no doubt that child is a psychopath, nor is she no longer a child, obviously more than a grown woman now and I will certainly Always keep my eyes on the paper and hopes that there is opportunities to write against her getting any parole or any mercy and the sad fact is at her age she has learned to live in prison and learned to actually enjoy it people think because people are locked in prison that they’re miserable. Unfortunately, as I have visited and been a music therapist in prison, they’re not some of these people thrive on it and at her age, she would adapted in a couple of years and become a modeling mate, because Sociopaths, psychopaths, etc. in her case she can’t feel remorse because she has no emotion. This children do not get well and I’m glad I wasn’t the judge because I would’ve sen her to the death penalty had been available and that’s exactly what she should’ve gotten other girls her age have certainly gotten the death penalty. The girl in Oklahoma did and term murder wasn’t near as vicious as what these two girls did, I think Rachel could heal. I do not think Sheila will ever be a person who should be on the streets because as we let these criminals out over and over again, we see repeat fences six out of 10 offenders reoffend within the first year our system is not working because it is not severe enough in these cases, and it is also too severe in minor cases. It’s the only system we have, and God says we must abide by it until his government comes, I can only agree with God and hope his government comes soon enough to save lives because it is not him that allows these things to go on. It is peoples free and one day I hope to meet this young lady in heaven and tell her how sorry I am That no one was there to save her when she needed it most as a father of two girls who I am so glad we’re safely raised gently reared, and are living their life to the fullest. I know what this child has missed. I know what this family must’ve suffered, and I have shed more tears, as a man listening to this book I have in many years I have to say it is also helped me in someways, especially in prayer because there is no doubt the only way to resolve issues like this. The battles we need to fight in life should be fought on our knees in prayer certainly not with our fists or knives or guns and until Nation like ours comes together and the people that truly have the right concepts and want to make change stop standing apart and start standing shoulder shoulder islands don’t accomplish much, but continents can conquer the world, and at this point all we’re trying to do is conquer the mental health issues that plague our society the ones that should be caught early on Mental illness runs wild in this country among our teenage population adult population, etc. suicide murders school shootings they never seem to stop unfortunately as a man as a soldier I know what it’s like to take life and it is nothing you take lightly I still at 49 years old have the nightmares From my time in the service, I still regret every day that I acted on the orders I was given because the truth is as humans we seem to revert to this barbaric behavior when we think we need control things aren’t going our way or we’re attacked will attacking back never works And this book only proves that even more this could’ve been resolved for those children so easily and there were so many bartenders and I’m not talking about children or parents I’m talking about all the other people around teachers or faculty people at work, etc. there were too many opportunities and it seems to me the accountability for information mainly came From the school kids, where were these teachers and what kind of job were they doing not to notice any of this questions about getting rid of dead bodies should’ve been a cue in a biology class and that teacher unfortunately was still allowed to go on teaching I feel no sadness for Rachel or Sheila, and anybody that does should only feel bad that they were not given the right Parenting or the right opportunities to get the mental health assistance they needed before a crime like this was committed and unfortunately it keeps happening every day multiple times where there would be murder, rape, etc. these crimes will never stop unless our society wakes up and takes notice and people start intervening. When they see a problem right away we have to teach our children to speak up And not be afraid to because if some of these children would have been listen to this could have been prevented, and that’s all I can say this could have been prevented what a heart wrenching story a wonderful read but truly a heartbreaking tail rest in peace sky. I know that everyone that listens to this book will certainly send a prayer up to you and all the things that you might have been in this world. I know that you’re in heaven now and totally at peace and life is perfect for you. I can almost picture your smile in my head as you stand with our Lord Jesus and I know you are safe and one day you will be back with your parents where you belong and hopefully all of you will find peace in God best wishes Skyler, the whole world has grieved for you tried to get justice for you, and certainly failed you in all of the above I know Jesus will never fail you RIP 9:27:59
This story kinda reminds me of me I have a friend who I used to see her as a best friend named Edith Gonzalez until her sister in law and niece ( not by blood) she's more like a step niece. Came into my friend Edith's life and now my friend her sister in law and step niece are so close to each other and my friend does really spend that much time with me any more seems like she cares about her niece and sister in law and not me anymore I am becoming jealous of them. I don't see my friend as a ( best friend) anymore because of this. I love her sister in law but at the same time I feel pissed off at her I feel like she's replacing me with my friend. And it makes me feel not important to them that much 😢. Besides that I don't get along with my friends niece either and I feel like she doesn't like me either she seems kinda annoyed and ignores me.
Narrator is not suited for this material. Sounds like she is reading to a bunch of grade school kids. Unsure I can manage to listen to the whole thing. So annoying.

Great narrator. I love it when she does josiesnyder's voice. Sometimes I wonder if 'josiesnyder' was actually a police officer.
I think it was officer Colebank 😊 that's just my opinion tho..
Pretty sure it was Mary Neese. If you watch any of the interviews with her, some of the tweets were things that she said she tweeted.
I bought this book several years, ago. Couldn't put it down.

I like the book, don't care for the narrator, her tone and sarcasm. Curt manner. I want to hear the book but the narrator makes it hard to listen too
Narrator is not suited for this material. Sounds like she is reading to a bunch of grade school kids. Unsure I can manage to listen to the whole thing. So annoying.
I felt like I was getting lectured to by a bitter old teacher as opposed to being told a story.
Correct your grammar

Thanks captain obvious
The one on the right in the thumbnail is a babe.
I'll be sick if I listen further (30 minutes) too sickly sweet. The book itself and the narrator typically "All American Rubbish"
I've actually read the book. And it's definitely worth reading. I got the paperback copy on ebay or amazon for around £7 😊
Yea it's disgusting how they will be free murders if they live to get released
Cringe comment
True comment.
Lol, hate "America" much?
Thnx this is better then buying it off amazon
It's always good to steal from a writer I guess.
Someone comment “Chapter times”, please!!
