I'm so glad you reacted to this. You can see, hear, and feel his pain. One of the most real and intense songs you'll ever hear. Masterpiece song and video.
These guys are uplifting. You gotta see through what seems negative. Killing gods is like a metaphor for taking control of your life through the anger. It's like "this is what you threw at me I'll come back harder"
I was just about to say that, he was upside down and the camera was flipped so the blood would rush to his head and make him look more angry and badass.
Yes! This is the immediate anger after loss and looking to blame. CoL is the aftermath and grieving part of loss. Absolutely need to follow it up with CoL
Finally!!!! Gibby has found this amazingness, yes it's a bit anti religious but as he says he doesnt judge he vibes the music, keep that up gibby!! You got my support brother!!
@@edwardsheridan1688 We all want someone or something to blame when we lose a loved one, but part of the point in this song is god doesn't exist to blame. He's also saying if god did, then he better show up and be held accountable.
I lost my sister right after new years 2018 and this song came out shortly after and holy shit do I feel the emotion in this song anytime it comes on. This song really hits too close to home for me such an amazing piece. Captures all the emotion perfectly, and honestly it was an amazing outlet for all this emotion I had no clue what to do with.
Not sure how far into Deathcore you want to dip but I would love if you checked out Shadow of Intent. The Heretic Prevails, Malediction, or Barren and Breathless Macrocosm
Gibby Much love Love the channel Love what you do Very inspiring Don't comment often I watch it all Just wanted to say thank you You've turned me onto some stuff I probably never would of heard otherwise And I appreciate it Ty
If you're waiting to get a response from God when you lose a loved one, you're going to be waiting until you go as well. Life is short, take it for what it is. Some folks get unlucky and pass early for poor reasons - be realistic. Make others happy while you're alive and get love back - all you can ask for. For many life is suffering, life is pain. Getting on your knees and making wishes isn't going to change things. And not everyone can dig themselves out of the hands that they were dealt. We aren't all blessed. That said, flock to something that makes people universally happy in music. It is the best outlet there is.
You should check out Loathe, British metal band with pretty heavy Deftones vibes. Their newest album “I Let It In and It Took Everything” is easily one of my favorite records to come out in the last 10 years. The songs “Gored” and “Screaming” were recorded using equipment from the 70’s. Best songs for a reaction would be Gored, Heavy is the Head That Falls With the Weight, New Faces in the Dark, or Aggressive Evolution. Cheers.
God is good. Amen. I understand the pain here too though. And I respect it, if for nothing else the relatability to this raw emotion. Life dont always make sense.
Sometimes the only way to deal with the unimaginable tragedies that life can and will throw at you is to write about it and share your emotions with your world. You'll find there's others out there and it can be your form of therapy.
Wishing Wells is from their latest album Reverence It’s a song that Winston says was written with a lot of anger and hate, as him and his band mates went through a period of time during the writing process losing a few friends and family in that process and needing to blame someone or something and let go of that pain and anger... this song HITS HARD, you should do CHRONOS from this same album 🤘🏻
I've always interpreted this song as Winston's way of expressing he lost someone, and so wanting an answer and not accepting the actual answer, he turns to his faith and tries asking God. Only, he gets no answers, and becomes angry with His silence. It's not like he's trying to insult the faith, he was just.... Incredibly hurt, angry, and was trying to find answers elsewhere.
I like that he talks about the fact that god took that person and had a plan for him in heaven while winston talks about killing god and burning heaven for what he did to his friend.
Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it but Wishing Wells wasn't on the album Ire. It was on Reverence - speaking of which you should definitely check out Shadow Boxing, Chronos, and I hope you Rot from that album because they are all 10/10
So glad you're loving yourself some Parkway Drive!! They've been a constant favorite of mine for years now. You have to check out "Blue and the Grey" off their Atlas album, another banger for you!
Winston getting old, but damn he still a beast. Also, dont forget man, despite everything, Winston is still an entertainer first, since hes in the music bussiness. Always take that into account when listening to lyrics and music + watching music videos. And I just realized, when looking back through PWD songs, feeling of betrayal and loss is often a theme in their music, and not knowing where to place the blame, lashing out etc. (Idols and anchors, home is for the heartless, karma etc.)
D-Gibby, you should check out a band called LANDMVRKS, they are a metalcore band from France and have a really good vocalist, I suggest "Empty Place" or "Reckoning" for a first listen 👍
Wishing Wells is not from “Ire” album. It’s From the “Reverence” album. If this has already been posted forgive me. Don’t feel like reading comments but can make one. Half-way laziness. My wife and l love your videos and LOVE Parkway Drive. Keep ‘em coming. Anywho, back to the show.
this song is about the pain and anger he felt with the death of his friend...what we all feel at the death of a loved one
Wishing Wells is from Reverence, their most recent album. Also fun fact this video was shot in one take.
Heard also he did it hanging upside down. Not sure if true though
@@edwardsheridan1688 it's not true.
edward Sheridan yeah I heard that for the first time in these comments. Not sure on that one but I’m gonna go with probably not

PLEASE react to "Chronos" by Parkway Drive! It's one of their best songs from the last 2 albums in my opinion.
My all time favourite band. Buckle up with this one. It’s so good live as well!
It’s insane live! Ive Seen them twice since it was released! 🤘
Fun fact Winston's hanging upside down while shooting this music video.
and in 1 take
Didn't know he was upside down.
No he wasnt
I was just about to say that, he was upside down and the camera was flipped so the blood would rush to his head and make him look more angry and badass.
He has said in interviews that this isn't true
Wishing Wells is actually from their latest album, Reverence, not Ire.
Wishing Wells is actually from their album Reverence.
You should follow this up with the Colour of Leaving. It's the final song in the album and is on the other side of his grief.
Yes! This is the immediate anger after loss and looking to blame. CoL is the aftermath and grieving part of loss. Absolutely need to follow it up with CoL
ngl, even though I love the entire album, Colour of Leaving in a weird way is my favorite song on it
This song hit me differently when I listened to it after my dad passed. I sobbed during the entire song
Same Had my father die in my arms. Cried and scream through this whole song when I first heard it after that. Stay strong sister.
Finally!!!! Gibby has found this amazingness, yes it's a bit anti religious but as he says he doesnt judge he vibes the music, keep that up gibby!! You got my support brother!!
Not so much anti religious. He’s expressing his need to find blame while he lost his mother I think it was.
@@edwardsheridan1688 I think it was that one of the band members lost their partner to cancer and winston lost his dog.
@@edwardsheridan1688 not his mother, she was on stage on one of the shows after the video was out

Hell yeah!

This. One of the songs that confirmed my love for the DC genre!
this song is a classic certified banger, but I'm more of a fan of In Dying Days. "BRING THE MOTHERFUCKIN RUCKUS!"
haha! i was just waiting for that first scream to come in because i knew his reaction was going to be priceless
Yesssss!!! Glad you liked this one. One of their best tracks and live it is even better.

Such a good song you will love it . I love your content so much funny truthful amazing
They open with this song a lot of times live and its so sick!!!!!!
True story. He was hanging upside down during this whole video. That's how he could shake his head like that.
He has debunked that in interviews. He wasn't hanging upside-down but this was all 1 take.
Except it’s not hard to shake your head like that...
Rivers of Nihil- Where the owls know my name. The whole album is a amazing from start to finish.
Gotta check out the Horizons album. Really almost anything off of the Horizons album is a banger.
Everything they have ever done is 🔥
"Oh my goodness" pretty much summed up my reaction when I first heard this song too. Heavy stuff
Not sure how far into Deathcore you want to dip but I would love if you checked out Shadow of Intent. The Heretic Prevails, Malediction, or Barren and Breathless Macrocosm
ive never considred myself religious but christian metalcore really brings out the spirit in me.

Any shadow of intent song is amazing lol my favorite is gravesinger its underrated
Don’t know why no one ever mention it, but that intro acoustic riff is just slowed down intro riff from their song Dark Days

the fact that his ears are shaped like the devils at certain camera angles is metal AF
