  • The Ghanian declaration of 2019 as the year of the return, was significant because it came at a time when African-Americans, in general, were facing increased racial discrimination in the US.
St Georges Fort at Elmina, built by the Portuguese in 1482 -- and infamous for its role in the trans-Atlantic slave trade through the door of no retutn.

What Ghana president needs to do as they are getting so popular for Western/ Caribbean people flocking there, spending and providing the Ghanaian people with jobs would be to provide free Visas and immediate citizenship for those wishing to stay. Give more incentive

I know this is IMPOSSIBLE, but as a African American i be wondering the following... What if i woke up one day and Africa decided in union, to be the 1st Continent to drop ALL it's European borders and unite under one banner? Ontop of that, part of that plan became a total invite to ALL African Diasporans. That would be like World War 3 to Europeans 😂👏🏾 They will feel dam near 500 years of what they established and did would be flushed down the toilet! Speaking of WW3 and past rumors we've heard about it happening, i think it would be no longer "rumors of wars,'" it WOULD BE a WW3 then! Facts! 😂 Anyways, appreciate the content Good Bro Ev! btw Evans... I do enjoy your interest in the Repats... very much! Let me share this...
In my opinion, just mine... AfroThinkTank is right, for most in the USA, we came from the coastal West African countries and I don't need to see DNA receipts to know it (although the DNA receipts do show it).
I think that is why we are drawn to Ghana. And "as quiet as it's kept" Nigeria too. We are so much alike showy, loud, aggressive, entitled, hard to get along with sometimes... You'll be surprised to know... I never really noticed this until social media. It's All Love!
I'm really just now learning how different (and the same) Africa's indigenous are... In the US... we are definitely Naija... and varying amounts of Other, maybe. The actor/comedian, Chris Tucker was almost 100% Angolan, you'd find that back story interesting.

15:00 I completely agree... It's a form of reparations and is an event for all Africans. It's always a homecoming for BA/AA. We don't go to any African country to go on Safaris. More like a pilgrimage to the home of our Ancestors. During the Atlantic slave trade, many were taken to South Africa. I know that I had ancestors on the "White Lion"... The first slave ship to crash land on the shores of north America in the early 1600's (... still a British colony at that time).

I think people should look into the latest policy of the Ghanaian Government where by 15% of savings in the Bank account must remain in there, 😮this has been put in place to inssure their Debt Deficit, because GHANA only owns 3%of its own GOLD RESERVES,and GOLD for most Countries is what inssures their Debt. Now imagine if you have 1 million in the Bank and you can never access that 15% of your own Money😢, i am not saying people should not move ,just do your due dilligence especially on the ECONOMY, DO NOT LOOK THROUGH ROSE COLOURED GLASSES.
