This video was needed. I read the book some years ago and was left with the same impression, it was a good read but like you said, the political view of the author was somehow woven together with the history he presented, and the history lesson transformed into a political work. I am so tired of this as a history fan and applaud you for giving it the review it deserves. To write about history to fit your political view is nothing new but at least be honest about your work, have a title that reflects the massage of the book.
