It's not a stave church, it's a "gudehov" (modern Norwegian) a Norse temple. It is believed stave churches often were built in the locations and style of gudehov.

Epic and essential commentary and notes! I honestly will not be able to bring myself to watch a movie with this kind of violence but I’m absolutely loving the discourse around it and happy to see many history informed folks giving it a good review. Good analytical video. Just a little nit-picking: the stress isn't an the A in Yggdrasil. It isn't Yggdraaasil.
