The called 3rd strike at 2:41 is stolen by maldonado he set up in carpenters back pocket and moved with the pitch as it came back to the plate. Love to see it from catchers.
Yankees rely on home runs consistently which doesn’t win in the playoffs. If it was a Mariners-Yankees ALCS I would pick mariners in 6 or 7. They are more dangerous than the Yankees

Hope this is another 7 game classic between these to great teams! 1:33 and 5:36 are two insanely strong hits by each team
You wanted us, now you got us, how bout them astros baby, we OWN yall.
Guys I was there last night and I’m a grown man but I felt like a little boy I was over filled with joy , emotions , even watching the video of the highlights brings tears to my eyes because it was a masterclass of a game and I was able to experience it.
I think this is the guy who ran on the field and tried to sexually assault Altuve
@@rockscousteau dude chill , it was a very emotional game.
Plus I would never do that ,
To all the humble Yankees fans, i wanted you guys to win. But all year the other obnoxious Yankees fans made it hard to like your team. We wanted anyone to win this year except the Astros.. but the level of arrogance displayed during that Yankees run during the season was similar to cowboys fans winning a playoff game. It was just too much hate going on, I can't wait to taste the sodium dripping from those pinstripe eyes.
Keep your head up humble Yankees fans, it's just collateral damage.
agree with what a lot of what you say, but if you think Cowboys' fans are obnoxious, have you ever watched the EAGLES' fans when they play the Cowboys? Damn, my mama would have run out of soap and moved on to the Clorox. And my mouth would be so fried that I'd never be able to insult anyone again, much less speak.
Dude we should all universally agree that the Yankees are the worst. I’m terrified to play the Phillies and I know how good my Astros are.

I'd read a good portion of the comments, and the name PEÑA, it's mentiond just twice. That kid is doing a wonderful job, and I ask myself if is anyone aware of that?
The Yankees are.
Yankees: we’ll be champs
Also yankees: proceed to have 695919637 strikeouts in one game
Laughing up here in Alaska.
They watch baseball in Alaska? Do you get to go to any games?
Most popular team there?
Rooting for the 'Stros, right Alaska? I loved visiting the Anchorage area a year ago, need to see many other regions, too
Go Supersonics.
@@roryjoey1778 what’s the most popular teams in Alaska
Jays fan, Go Stros 👊🏾🔥🔥
Get asleep in toront 🛌👋
Umpire was horrible for both teams....and another thing...there's no point in asking the 3b or 2b umpires if a batter "did go or did not go"...
Those blind folks always say "he didn't go" even if the hitter swings twice 🙄
What is with New York fans saying that the strike three call on Carpenter was a ball? Clearly a strike and even the electronic strike zone called it a strike. Cope you crybabies, let’s go Stros
Even if it wasn’t a strike he literally struck out the pitch before that and ump called it foul when the bat never made contact😂
17 strikeouts! Great hitting Yankees!!
Great to see the Verlander we needed...and even Pressly came in sharp...We love to see that...
Close games or not,Houston has won 4 in a row.
Yankees are 3-3
The series has just started...we'll see...but now it's Framber's turn!
Forget about who hit what; this one was all about pitching.
Playoff baseball is all about pitching!! Yankees having a weak bullpen no closer or any situational hitters will come back to bite them in this series!! The astros team is designed to win in the playoffs where as the Yankees are designed to hit a bunch of homeruns and be an exciting team only problem with that is it don't win in the playoffs!! The only way the Yankees score any runs is when there hitting it over the fence and that only works for so long!!
Yankees gotta start hitting for contact if they want a chance to advance.
#1 fan Houston Astros congratulations great game!!
Good luck
Once JV told himself to relax and attack, LIGHTS OUT. He could have gone another inning.
Astros still have Stanek, Brown, Garcia…. The depth.
Yanks were a better team to start the year with even more depth. Unfortunately they are now without Green, King, Chapman, Britton, Marinaccio, Effross, Gil, Ridings go down from the bullpen. And without their 2 best OBP guys after Judge in Benintendi and LeMahieu arguably their 2nd and 3rd best position players. Really ridiculously bad luck for NY this year. Astros should win.
@@LysergiCoyotl excuses...Astros lost Correa and Brantley can't play...You know those 2,right?
We're still not crying about it though!
@@yelyharmony2047 you named 2 people he just named 10.
You can throw a pitch in your house and somewhere a Yankee will swing the bat. My god .
The way the Yankees were swinging and missing tonight, my guess is that their fans on the couch were striking out as well. Well, some of them anyway.
had to laugh man
Yankees have no chance
Dodgers said that to Padres.
Mets said that to Padres.
We aren’t the Mets or dodgers 😂😂😂😂
Got stealing scandal with Red sox
@@robertdouglas3174 pretty sure mets fans even knew their season was done
Did nobody notice that the Astros were 1 strike away from the first immaculate inning in playoff history??? (9th inning)
I mean, they wanted the Astros. So they got ‘em 🤣.
Be careful of what you ask for, right. Lol.
“ I’m wild about the Astros & the Astros are wild about me!”
Micheal Kay : And the spankees got spanked again 😂
That Pena is special
The Astros are so hard to beat rn that them losing the WS would be so shocking borderline historical
What i saw was that Verlander was going to get crushed, but he figured it out. Don't throw strikes and the Yankees will swing anyway...
Let’s go Astros 🔥 “We WaNT HoUStoN”😂😅 17Ks sheeeeesh
Carpenter trying to make a strike look like a ball is hilarious!
Im an astros fan but that was definitely a ball lol
@@xavierramos7868 This is you 😢❄️
@@xavierramos7868 ok. traitor.
In one of his at bats they missed two easy strike calls so I can understand his frustration.
Ump blew several calls for both sides
Man alive, fans of both teams should hope that umpire doesn’t call another game in the series.
He was very bad
Jeremy peña IS amazin
Justin Verlander was unstoppable, dude proved why he's the best pitcher in Baseball he had 11 ks, Yankees gonna mess up & lose this series 😒
Brilliant pitching performance from JV! God bless the long ball! Big win tonight in Game 1! Let’s Geaux Astros! ❤️⭐️⚾️🧡💙
Early on I thought he might not have a good night. But he got dialed in after that.
Astros are the best team in the MLB.
The thumbnail picture gives away who won without seeing the video
Pressly, the wicked!
どんまい笑
As a White Sox fan, I love watching Donald Duck fail on every team that signs him. The Yankees felt Donaldson would help them win. LOL
I’m just here for the “they must be cheating” comments
I don’t hate the Yankees, but I enjoy seeing a team that just about spends the most every year lose over and over again. They still could win but here’s to enjoying this Yankees loss.

Pressly is impressive! Peña is a super red hot jalapeña!
Good work Astros from an M's Fan🤙. Now I feel better about how we did against you guys.
Id rather play the Yankees 1000x than have another series against the Mariners. Mariners are scary.
Yankees rely on home runs consistently which doesn’t win in the playoffs. If it was a Mariners-Yankees ALCS I would pick mariners in 6 or 7. They are more dangerous than the Yankees
regardless of what happens the mariners were our toughest opponent in the playoffs by far. they are the real deal and i look forward to our a.l. west rivalry
Mariners would have swept the Stanks
You guys were tough to beat. I’m looking forward to a more competitive division moving on
So happy for Jeremy Pena
