It’s crazy how expensive this game is now, I traded a lot of my PS2 games back when GTA 4 released but something told me to keep all my DBZ games (I think because the trade value for DBZ games wasn’t high at that time in 2008) and now I’m glad kid me didn’t trade any of them

Honestly the game holds up graphically well and I love the aesthetic to this day. A good amount of games from the PS2 era upscale very well. Like Gundam vs Zeta Gundam ;)
Yes I've been grinding tenkaichi 3 for about a week now. It was one of my favorite games as a kid and it is still just as much fun as it was back then. I'm thinking about getting tenkaichi 2 as well since I've never played it before and I keep hearing how good the story mode was.
Tenkaichi 2 has an AMAZING story mode Keep the training up, highly recommend checking out the Tenkaichi 4 mod for T3 on PC, it has an even more challenging CPU option. Video on it coming soon!
Despite all the DBZ games that have come out over the years, BT1 has the most badass and authentic Intro of all of DBZ games of the Franchise. BT2 and BT3 in my opinion still remains the most Unique and the best DBZ games in terms of content, quality and fanservices. And from the gameplay perspective aspects, these DBZ games that I mentioned are very close to the anime itself because of the Vibe and Charm, I don't know how to describe it but it was, and still is the most Unique DBZ experience you could have with the combat factor. (- Sheer amount de of characters - Transformations mid-battle (powering up and down) - Fusions mid-battle - Fast gameplay that has that "woah" feel - Tons of extra content - Story mode covering all sagas + movies - What If sagas - Shenron having permanent impact on game (character unlocks and whatnot) - Great tournaments that rotate availability - Edit characters with items (buffs) - 5v5 battles - Really Great and Epic Soundtracks - Destroyable environments - Entire stages could be blown up into their "destroyed" alternatives - Mission 100 being a great challenge - Artwork is 10/10 - Sound effects are great - Combat feels heavy and satisfying) Only Budokai 3, Infinite World and the Raging Blast 1 and 2 and all of PSP DBZ games except of Dragon Ball Z Evolution are still considered also very solid DBZ games, also the hidden gem that a lot of DBZ fans missed from PS2 Era of DBZ games is "Super Dragon Ball Z" which is also a real Unique and DBZ game, especially for the different gameplay aspects perspective.☯️🤷🏻♂️✌️

As a DB fan raised on the PS2, I love these games, but they have largely been surpassed when it comes to gameplay and source material accuracy by games like FighterZ and the often overlooked Super DBZ on the PS2. I do think that one thing people don't praise enough about these old games is how perfectly they represented Goku's hairstyle in free camera 3D. I don't think even Sparking Zero has done it as well as BT3 did it.
I remember buying raging blast coming home playing it for 2 hours and absolutely hating the game. So i went back to tenkaichi 3 i played that game up until the release of ps4
its not universally agreed people just know bt3 was the last REALLY good dbz game budokai 3 always had a higher rating and just never got a new gen sequel so it got forgotten but imo they are both equally the best dbz game just different fighting systems budokai 3 soundtrack also iconic til this day and the story mode is way more fun than bt3 we didnt get buu absorbing cell frieza or vegeta in bt3 just so much small love like ssj2 trunks bt3 character roster was elite tho
They put one auto combo(squarex5), but as fighting games progress they put auto combos in almost every fighting game. Now, there is even modern control functions. I hope Sparking Zero doesn't follow the trend. Because if it does, those of you playing that style, I WILL NOT RESPECT!!!
Man I still regret never getting this game as a kid but I did get the second game from renting it and I had a blast with it and I much preferred that game story mode to 3's. However this is still a definite S tier game and if Sparking 0 is able to keep that exact same good energy that this game had then I think we're in good hands even if this is gonna be just another anime arena fighter yet again. Don't get me wrong despite not having A PS5, I'm still excited to see this game coming out but we've had so many arena fighters that are all anime that I'm kind of burnt out from the IP. Still glad to see this coming out honestly!
Sparking Zero is shaping up to be incredible from everything I've seen and the head developer seems like a true fan of the original Tenkaichi series. I think we're in for a treat. We'll certainly be covering it a ton when it drops.

I really feel like Bandai should consider porting Tenkaichi 3 over to the new console to kind of prepare people for this game. I used to have the Wii version (and still do), but I feel like if Sparking Zero buttons and controls are anything like the ps2 version, they should consider porting it over so that way when Sparking Zero release, people will at least know the basics. As fun as BT3 was, if you are a new player remembering all the different combos and mechanics can take a little while to master.

Idk if it's pcsx2, my controller, or a skill issue but I can never get the vanishing dodge to work in this game. I'm talking about the mechanic where you have to press the circle button before an attack to make your character dodge by vanishing. It just doesn't seem to work. I also for the life of me cannot win a beam struggle against the computer. No matter how many times I rotate the sticks the game just doesn't register the input 😂😂😂
Probably your configuration for sure. I'd just double check the controller settings. It's easy to just use an Xbox or ps controller (maybe with BETTERDS4). If nothing works then just start over by getting the latest emulator build.
Yet another reason why I like Raging blast 2 more because the Vanishing freaking works Consistently even when I’m blown away or punched in the Stomach or while I’m doing a charged hit ect (I’m about to get attacked for this).
I reaaally like BT2 far more than this. In recent years I got more and more frustrated, I just hate how the Story in 3 is presented and how unfair "challenging" it is. I just hate it. I even appreciate 1 more nowadays and would play RB1 over this any day. Sparking Zero really looks bad imo, too shaky, too many effects, it has gotten worse as I have seen here. RB1 looked better than this modern crap that comes out this year. Whatever. BT2 is better than BT3.

I absolutely can. Some of if not the only things FighterZ objectively has over this game are graphics and an actual balanced/competitive scene if you're into that. The way they play is completely different, so we'd be getting into subjective territory and that's a matter of preference. BT3 has a bigger roster, superior stages (far more too btw), in game transformations, in game fusions, battle damage, stage destruction, costumes, costumization, a more memorable soundtrack, dope mini games and i could probably go on and on. Let's not even talk about the story mode cuz even tho BT3's is a watered down version of BT2, it still completely outclasses the offensively bad "story mode" from FighterZ by going through OG, Z, GT and Movie sagas. FighterZ is the better competitive game, BT3 is the better dragon ball game. FighterZ is not even the best 2D >>>Dragon Ball game

Agreed. FighterZ absolutely clears. Having a large roster and in-game transformations doesn't mean anything when all the characters play the same way, and the transformation don't change anything substantial about the way the character works. Heck, FighterZ actually doesn incorporate in-game transformations anyways in MULTIPLE different ways to suit the different characters. FighterZ music is also INCREDIBLY underrated, not to mention that the game DOES incorporate stage destruction, but people choose to overlook that for argument's sake. It's the most accurate to the source material, with every character's every move, down to the way they walk being able to be overlayed onto a manga panel or an anime scene as a direct reference. The way it bridged the gap between the FGC and Dragon Ball fans, while revitalizing the 3v3 tag genre and making one of the most source accurate and faithful games of all time is lightning in a bottle. Almost no licensed game (even the Tenkaichi games) have the same level of love and attention to detail put into them.
@@EWOODJ Don't be blinded by nostalgia. I grew up with BT2 and BT3 and played them my whole life. They are not even close to the level of detail that DBFZ goes into. You couldn't pick any random normal move from any character and pinpoint its reference the way you can with FighterZ. That, combined with the keyframed visuals, really makes it the gold standard for accuracy. Most Tenkaichi characters get an approximation of what their fighting style in the manga and anime is, and a lot of them have their styles made up because they didn't fight all that much in the story. There's also those whose styles are completely different from what they fight like in the source. Very few characters get their fighting style accurately presented in the Tenkaichi games, and even then it's not at the same level.
Yup and the worst part is watch GT become DlC in the future, I would not be surprised . They always do that bs to us and obviously we gonna be upset cause GT was in base tenkaichi 3...

Most Tenkaichi characters get an approximation of what their fighting style in the manga and anime is, and a lot of them have their styles made up because they didn't fight all that much in the story. There's also those whose styles are completely different from what they fight like in the source. Very few characters get their fighting style accurately presented in the Tenkaichi games, and even then it's not at the same level.
Such a great game, I love that GT was included, after this game I honestly haven't been interested in playing any other DBZ game besides Figtherz

2 For The Story Elements YES, but 3 it's the more complete on fighting mechanics because the gameplay feels more smooth, by the way, I like both games equally enough, but BT3 it's slightly better in my eyes.🤷🏻♂️ Despite all the DBZ games that have come out over the years, BT1 has the most badass and authentic Intro of all of DBZ games of the Franchise. BT2 and BT3 in my opinion still remains the most Unique and the best DBZ games in terms of content, quality and fanservices. And from the gameplay perspective aspects, these DBZ games that I mentioned are very close to the anime itself because of the Vibe and Charm, I don't know how to describe it but it was, and still is the most Unique DBZ experience you could have with the combat factor. (- Sheer amount de of characters
- Transformations mid-battle (powering up and down)
- Fusions mid-battle
- Fast gameplay that has that "woah" feel
- Tons of extra content
- Story mode covering all sagas + movies
- What If sagas
- Shenron having permanent impact on game (character unlocks and whatnot)
- Great tournaments that rotate availability
- Edit characters with items (buffs)
- 5v5 battles
- Really Great and Epic Soundtracks
- Destroyable environments
- Entire stages could be blown up into their "destroyed" alternatives
- Mission 100 being a great challenge
- Artwork is 10/10
- Sound effects are great
- Combat feels heavy and satisfying) Only Budokai 3, Infinite World and the Raging Blast 1 and 2 and all of PSP DBZ games except of Dragon Ball Z Evolution are still considered also very solid DBZ games, also the hidden gem that a lot of DBZ fans missed from PS2 Era of DBZ games is "Super Dragon Ball Z" which is also a real Unique and DBZ game, especially for the different gameplay aspects perspective. 🤷🏻♂️
